  1. I usually play Viks and sometimes I'll go up against Rasputina. It has yet to happen, because of maneuvering, but I've been thinking about a specific scenario that's bound to happen. If either of the Viks use the ability that lets all sisters attack one model (Dragon's Bite/Flight of Dragons), and one of the the sisters who attacks out of her activation gets the effects of the trigger Sub Zero, what happens? Sub Zero says "After this models suffers damage from a Ml attack, immediately end the attacker's activation". From the rulebook and other models, like Perdita, it is understood that "attacker" refers to the attacking model (not the attacking player). Since the attacking model in my scenario is the one who is not activating, there is no activation to end. Only the activating model has an activation to end. Theoretically, in a scenario with all the sisters attacking the same model with Sub Zero trigger, if I just save the activating sister for last they should all get to attack regardless of how many times the trigger is triggered. The exceptions is of course the activating sister, if she has any AP left after using Dragon's Bite/Flight of Dragons. Is this covered by a FAQ or a thread I've missed? Does my reasoning seem correct?
  2. No worries, I had a feeling I hadn't written it clearly enough.

  4. I meant that you can't use that ability twice in a row with obey from the same model. It's still during one activation, even though it's another model who activates. It doesn't matter who uses it, only whether it's the same activation or not. The same goes for once per turn.

  6. I've used it to help a friend remove the wendigo from the guild whatever-he-is. Repositioned the rock in a base, sculpted a hand and a foot and now the wendigo looks as if he parkours over the side of the rock. I got the guild dude to use as a Latigo pistolero as a thanks. Fun, and very worth it. Especially because its easier to paint them all coherently without a random dude with a different paint scheme.

  8. I agree with ausplosions. New activation, new chance to use it. The same should go for obeying, you can use it again but not obey twice in a row for that ability. Grammatically, it means "once each activation". Why should it be spent because you used it last activation? also, godlyness, you basically described "once per turn" using "once per activation". What would be the point in two different game mechanics doing the same thing? Edit: I think of it just as action points. You get a new allowance of AP each activation, and you get a new allowance of once per activation. On the other hand, a new allowance of once per turn is only at the start of a turn.

  10. In combat doesn't meant they have to be in base contact. Most models have at least one inch melee, if they have one. They will also probably be engaged, which means you have to randomize which model you hit. But if they are base to base, then you can shoot either one and they will both be paralyzed. Only difference is whether you or the other player has to make the defense flip. Edit: damn, Mach_5 answered while I was writing. Ah well.
  11. The first time she kills a model during her activation, she gets a healing flip. Which often means every turn. In wave two, Vanessa has a healing ability and she's also a sister. Also, anyone able to give out a healing flip (malifaux child for example) lets her make use of fates entwined.
  12. There's a guy who has a small shop doing these kinds of things. Maybe you could get some useful ideas from his stuff? I even pitched an idea to him a while ago about doing markers for conditions, before M2E. I think having those would be really handy. For the record, I don't know this guy personally but I've come really close to ordering his stuff a few times, because I really like them. http://www.trinketsandtokens.net/
  13. In using winzip app on my iPad to view the beta. Open the link in safari, click "open in..." And choose winzip.
  14. Being overly cautious when handling fiddly bits and no small amount of luck whenever I actually drop something. I think experience accounts for most of it though. When cutting small pieces, like arms, lay the whole thing down on a cutting pad and cover the arm with your finger or some fabric. It will keep it pinned down between your blade and your finger in case it tries to fly away. When glueing, use the clippers gently(!) to hold it against the arm sockets until it's good enough to let go. I find the clippers have a better grip than my small pliers.
  15. I've played against both rasputina and Lilith, once or twice. I'm not the best of gamers, but I believe my biggest fears were: Nukes - since the Viks don't have that many wounds. I always keep a load of ss for prevention. Blasts - which drains my preventions quickly. The Viks often like to stay huddled, for their bonuses. Black blood has a similar effect. Frozen heart - easily stops them in their tracks. I used my Viks for their mobility and put out scheme markers vs rasputina instead of trying to kill anything. Vs Lilith I was lucky with my setup, which meant that instead of losing vik of blood (which I almost did) I took out Lilith, a mature, her totem and a tot in something like two turns and both Viks and the SoC were back at full health. When the Viks have a go at something together, expect it to die. I've used ronin to place schemer markers very efficiently. They can't be charged, are hard to kill and can easily push away. My opponent either has to leave them be and give me points, or waste many actions chasing them before they sacrifice themselves as soulstones for me. They're often out on their own.
  16. Considering other instances in malifaux where 0 is used, it means nothing. Zero damage is no damage. Zero range should the be no range, which means it can't reach anything. Probably not even itself.
  17. There's nothing wrong with using the metal ones you already bought. For gameplay reasons there's no difference. The plastics will be different in style as well, so for painting/collecting it's a completely new model. So go give your metal models some TLC so they can live on in a display cabinet when the plastics come!
  18. I've sent mine this week. Hopefully it will reach its recipient before the holidays. Also received mine earlier this week. However, my girlfriend has forbidden me from opening it until Christmas. So I await Christmas with excitement!
  19. Last week I made a couple of proxies that both look kind of like this. This was the first try. It's based around a big Skaven rat from the old swarm pack and a few of the small ones from the plague monks box, swimming. All my Hamelin bases are made of the same kind of plasticard and similar water. I figure the rat king might be a big rat with a posse of smaller rats, the water is there to connect it to the rest of my crew and to add some action. Also, I get to use some of the small rats that are too small to use as ordinary rats. It was hard to get my phones focus to capture all three rats, so you get a kind of awkward picture from the top down. But it should give an idea of what I did.

    M2E Scale

Nathan said in the same post about the retooling that they would do something for those who already got the oversized Viks. What that will be, no one but he knows. But they've at least thinking about us.
  21. Might be worth to mention, they don't expect all plastics to be redone until late 2014, maybe a bit into 2015 if I recall correctly. So it might be worth to get the metal versions now, if you don't want to wait. They've announced their release schedule up until January 2014 so far. The rest we don't know.
  22. I'm intending to use leftover Skaven giant rats (WHFB) and tie their tails together using green stuff as the rat kings. I don't have any idea how I'm gonna make rat catchers though, not fond of the original model.
  23. I think they shouldn't have to. The main rulebook should be sufficient, at least for someone new, to increase accessibility. Wyrd should probably upload that upgrade to side by side with the errata'd cards. The cards shouldn't be a requirement, they should be a game enchancer.
  24. Well, you could model their bases after an outpost or maybe their temporary/moving housing, a so called "hell on wheels". Don't know much about them other that what I wiki'd after seeing the tv-show with the same namne, but it seems like a cool theme. Seems natural to base them either at their workplace or their homes. But thinking outside the box is nice too!
  25. I've wondered the same thing. It came up during our first game of M2E. I had all three sisters vs an ice golem (had a scheme to kill it). We played it as: Sisters can attack in any order. The attacking sister (not the one who cast the tactical action) would lose her activation if sub zero triggers, which meant practically nothing for two of them. Whirlwind wasn't relevant since there were no other models nearby. The golem didn't trigger sub zero when he died, so we never had to decide what to do with the healing flip.
