  6. I've had some great success with Lazarus as taras goto bury. He is a safe bet with schemes like Protect territory and bodyguard. You can play a lot safer with him and he still deals wicked damage from a distance with his 4 shots which can be aimed at different targets in case someone dies prematurely. Potential blasts are also nice to have in the toolbox . I usually go for Lazarus and another ~10ss beater to have the options. To much cover? bury beater, open ground? bury lazarus. Relocating Tara and her buried model with Eternal Journey late in the turn is ridiculous if the deployment is close or flank f.e.
  7. Thanks for the replies. I usually don't despair after a game since in hindsight you can see things you should have done differently. But i had a hard time seeing that this game. Just wanted some input, and got some solid advice :-). Next time i'll bring my a-game and a better list! O my god... i completely forgot i could unbury papa!!!!1 and tara is the queen of buried models, how could i forget... I suspected frank to be the frame-target so i didn't really want to kill him and he was out of reach as well so... I had to get killjoy out asap to avoid him unburying in my deployment zone.
  8. Hello! I have a question regarding a problem with Perdita. Sorry for the long post. I never discuss balance questions because I don’t believe there really is a balance issue big enough to complain about in Malifaux. I am quite inexperienced, only having played ~15 matches in the last two years but I read a lot of theoryfaux and mix around with theoretical lists and strats almost every day. Last Saturday I was at a convention in Sweden and entered the Malifaux tournament Linconfaux. It was a 100-pool event, fixed faction using gaining grounds. This was my pool. Tara 0 Von Schill 0 Steam Trunk 3 Karina 5 ama no zako 9 bishop 10 convict gunslinger 7 freikorps librarian 7 freikorps trapper 6 killjoy 12 lazarus 10 ronin 6 taelor 10 void wretch 4 guild autopsy 4 punk zombie 7 100ss I ended up winning my first two games (to my own surprise) and in the final third game I was facing a Guild crew. I knew he’d been playing Perdita because he annihilated a friend in the game earlier. I chose in hindsight a really bad list that game. Tara, Symbiote, Knowledge of eternity, Eternal Journey. 5 pool Karina w summoning Lazarus Killjoy Convict Gunslinger Void Wretch Trapper His crew was. Perdita, trick shooting. 7 pool Francisco hermanos de armas, lead lined coat(?) Papa loco Death marshal Austringer Austringer Guild hound Guild hound Nephilim The strat and schemes were: Guard the Stash, Close Deployment. Schemepool: A Line in the Sand, Protect Territory, Spring the Trap, Assassinate, Frame for Murder I got frame for murder on killjoy and protect territory announced. He announced Protect territory. Now I’ve read a lot of Argentbadgers tournament reports (love that guy) so I know Perdita with papa in the box is just stupidly ouch. I also noticed the board was really sparse on blocking terrain on my side, and I remembered that Perdita can choose to ignore cover so the close deployment was not really close from my side… Ok now here to the question. How to deal with Perdita? She will delete a model a turn if I try to go for the strategy, that is pretty much a fact. Tara will probably be safe due to her hole in the chest but the rest will die if she can see them. I ended up tossing killjoy in her face before she or Francisco could activate, burning a few of her stones and high cards. Killjoy died to her fire and gave me 3 vp. The rest of the game I just ran around with taras 6 ap + eternal journey teleport. Redeploying one model in her reactivate every turn. I managed to complete my protect territory and in the last round kill one austringer that held a stash marker for a 6-6 draw. (He had frame for murder on Francisco). I scratched my head a bit after the event on how to deal with this crew I faced and realized that I have no idea with the models and masters I have available to me (Tara, VS, Viks, Raspy). Is there a master that would be suitable for this matchup in the outcast faction? I don’t like being so totally outgunned that I don’t know what to do even in hindsight :-). So help me out here fellow outcast wyrdos!

  10. Mine is from the old SNES RPG Lufia II: Rise of the sinistrals which i bought sometime in the 90's. The character Idura is a pink armored snob with an epée. He's a quite stupid henchmen to the main villains and his problem is that he just won't die. Luckily the name is never taken on any forums or games so i've used it for at least 15 years now. In wow someone shortened it to Ida which is a common swedish girlsname. So yeah, i was called by a girls name for the last 10 years. Used to it now.

    Pull the void

    Thanks all, seems reasonable! I was trying to figure out the broken combo which must have lead to the wording of pull the void but i suspect its a combination of to much utility .
  12. This might have been answered before, but i could not find it with the search function. (1) Pull the Void (Ca 7t / TN: 14t / Rst: Wp / Rg: 8): Before performing the duel, choose Fast or Slow. Target model gains the chosen Condition and suffers 1 damage. This Action cannot be taken if there are no other friendly models left to Activate. Why is that? Is there something really good about using it with your reactivate ap's? I just don't get it.
  13. As title says: Can Rasputina target her own gamin for paralyze when it is in combat with an illuminated. It will be in base contact so everything touching the gamin will get paralyze without any sort of save except the gamin that is immune to it. Does that work? If it does... Thats quite nasty tbh. ... i like it!
  14. So i finally got my box and eagerly put it together for a quick game yesterday. List: ~40 stones 7 cache Tina with shattered heart thingy and child of december (shatter?) Wendigo gamin x3 golem december acolyte strategy: turf war schemes: frame for murder, some scheme that earned vp at the end of the game if i had a model withing 2" of a scheme marker (forgot name) vs Sonnia Criid, some counterspell aura (lose suits if target within 3"), the flame pillar upgrade and one more Samael hopkins with some upgrade witchling stalkers x3 freikorps specialist (fireslinging guy) Schemes: bodyguard (specíalist). vendetta i think its called, samael against the golem. Now as i am a complete newcomer to this game, i haven't read up on sonnia and i really didn't know what to expect (opponent said expect alot of blasts). I never had any intention of winning the bout but as i am here to learn i'd like to post some questions! The terrain was not really in my advantage as there was a big ht2 wall 4 inches on his side of the turf marker which he could hide behind and just collect vp. Take one step to the door in the wall and blast a gamin. I had a real hard time blasting sonnia as she bunkered up with 2 stalkers and samael behind terrain and i lost all suits when trying to hit her. The gamin was positioned fairly ok but as soon as one was burning it was completely lost. Both Sonnia and Samael stayed hidden behind terrain, ignoring LoS and cover and just blasted it, set fire to the next one with the blasts and it all went downhill from there . The golem was huge. More annoying then i thought to move around terrain, huge target on his head and DF 2 didnt really help... Samael did some ranged flurry excersise and ended me in one activation :-/. The acolyte didn't really do much, but what he did was effective... He was a bit of a coward and i really didnt want to lose him :-). Anyway i never really expected to win but i was hoping to put up more of a fight then i did. Tina and acolyte was all i had left when round 3/4 was over with him only losing 2 stalkers... Is this a bad matchup for Rasputina? Or should it be 50/50? What can be changed, is the list ok? should something more shooty be added? I felt like i was lacking in that department against sonnia...
  15. After reading some more and getting another (weird) game under my belt yesterday i've decided that the holy trifecta of girls will be Rasputina(ordered today), Pandora and Tara! I just really want them to be released asap so i can buy them. Is there any release date for specific crews or is it praying i should do?
