  1. Is it worth trying to get Rail Crew just for Kang do you think? Especially with all the other Hench/Enforcers battling for places. And would Rail Workers make it into a crew before other things like Torkage/Oiron/TT Brothers etc. I have been meaning to pick up some Komainu for Toshiro to summon. How do you recommend using them? I've never used them before as I've been waiting for miniatures but Bushido do some nice ones which I'll probably pick up.
  2. Depending when I decide to start playing with Kirai (I'll be ordering her box from Gencon) I'm thinking Witchling Stalkers would make a pretty easy conversion for Gaki and the Avatars of War Harpies would make good Shikome and/or Night Terrors (I've got some Harpies that I converted for my Dark Elf army I intend to use).
  3. Hi guys. I collect TT but at the moment have only bought stuff that is TT only, or is dual-faction with my two main factions (Outcasts and Ressers). I almost always play Yan Lo as a Resser (although considering what I take with him I could just as easily take him as a TT) but I'm looking to get Misaki on the board more and wondering whether it would be worth adding a Rail Crew to my TT collection when I have no plans to do Arcanists. I know that Kang can be very useful and having Mei Feng might be nice for another TT Master option but would I (1) be able to use the rest of Mei's box effectively or would the Rail Workers be wasted with Misaki (or even Yan Lo) and (2) would Mei get much mileage out of the TT stuff that I have (Misaki & Yan Lo boxes, TT Archers, Oiron and all the TT/Resser guys)? Second question, do people find much use for Monks of the Low River? I look at them and just not sure that I see the point. Condition removal is very nice but is such short range in a crew that is very fast that I'm not sure how much it would get used. Their (0) action seems very situational too. I could see them being good in Turf War by moving up and becoming a pita to move with their defensive stance but with 5 Df and 5Wd and no other damage reduction they still seem pretty easy to take down. Anybody have much experience with these guys, especially with Misaki? The main selling point seems that they are 4SS which is cheap in a crew with quite a few high SS minions.
  4. Just reading through this to get some ideas for using Fuhatsu and a point on this for anybody else reading it: You can't cheat if you use the (2) action. It gets :+fate but no cheat. You can of course cheat the damage though if you get through. I see two main ways of using him. Either focus and use your regular (1) action (maybe more if you can get focus on him another way). Or spend the SS for the , take the (2) action and hope for some good flips. Even if he only get to do it twice laying down blast markers that do such high damage is nasty. I'm hoping to run him in a few games soon but I'm not sure if he's worth the 10SS yet (more if you count the SS you'll need to take for him to burn). Seems like he would be amazing some days and less so others. Hopefully I'll find out soon. In 20SS hardcore games with guaranteed close deployment I can see him upsetting a lot of people though!
  5. Hadn't thought of converting Torakage into TT Brothers. Do you have pics Razhem? I might do that myself although I do quite like the TT Brother miniatures (although see again issues with having three of everything!).
  6. Just been reading through this as I want to get Misaki on the table myself (only played her once so far despite being my first M2E crew box) and the three in the box minion thing is annoying. I gave away one of my Oiron and Torakage in the end. I think the best bet is to look for players who are also playing TT and see if you can do trades with them. Hardly anybody ever used three of any minion so maybe you could swap a Monk of the Lower River for an Oiron or so on. This is what I'm going to look to do with Monks/Archers/Samurai (although I'll probably use the Monks as proxies for a while).
  7. Hi guys I have the complete contents of a plastic Somer box for sale. They have all been made and had the mold lines cleaned off (which was no easy task!) and everything except the Skeeters has been sprayed black. Looking for £20 including postage in the UK.
  8. OK, so if I've got it correct then Fading Memory happens when Pandora successfully wins a Wp duel (immediately as it's in the wording) and that takes priority over the Trigger because that happens 'after succeeding', with the Push part being part of the initial success?
  9. OK, that makes sense and thematically it would seem more sensible. However, the abstract rules in Malifaux mean sometimes things don't always make sense. And Fading Memory is an Ability which according to the timings in the rules should go after Triggers. So why in this instance does an Ability get to go before a Trigger? Not deliberately arguing the point but playing Devil's Advocate because it makes more sense that she would get to push after each one but there is nothing in the rules or FAQ that supports this that I can see (i.e. what are we missing?).
  10. Hey guys, had this situation come up in a game tonight and not sure if we played it correctly, Fading Memory allows Pandora to push immediately after she wins a Wp duel. Incite has a trigger that allows her to take the action again. But how do these two interact? As per general timing triggers go before abilities but does the immediately override this? It was quite important in our game as if she pushed before doing the second Incite it moved her into LOS of one of my miniatures that she couldn't otherwise see. And if she succeeds with both Incite's then would the two pushes stack? We thought there were three possible solutions but weren't sure which is correct: 1. She gets to Trigger and if the second attack is successful then does a single push 2. She pushes immediately then does the trigger, pushing again if successful 3. She does the trigger action first and then pushes either 4" or 8" depending whether the second Incite was successful (in our case it was). 1 just feels wrong as cuddles her so we discounted that but weren't sure whether 2 or 3 is correct. We went with three in the end and allowed her to push 8" as Incite was successful twice. Were we correct?
  11. The book came out pretty soon after Gencon last year didn't it? It just sold out in no time and took forever for reprints to be done!
  12. I want to live where you live! Totally agree on wishing there could be a change of policy (how would we start a poll, can we do that on the forum). Completely valid points about it's just the shipping companies benefiting. It would be far easier for Wyrd to just have to pack single orders for people (I can't imagine how many multiple orders shipping to the same addresses they have to pack after Gencon) which would streamline the process and make getting them all packed a little quicker. For those of us who live in places like the UK where we have to pay a handling fee on top of the VAT it's a real pain having to do multiple orders. And if we have less handling fees and postage to pay then that is totally more money going to Wyrd as mentioned. Come on Wyrd, give us a change in policy. Pllleeeeaaaassseeee
  13. Sweet, I will be making one as I don't want to buy the whole VS box just for it so wanted to make sure I was putting it on the right base.
  14. Almost certainly not as she is only in boxes sold at FLGS.
  15. I think all boxes inevitably need additional purchases. Just Kirai ones aren't available yet is the disappointing bit (at least new versions). I'm going to do what you suggest and throw in Izamu and some of my other Ressers stuff.
  16. Yeah, the Royal Mail fee is gross. My mate had an order that was 17 pence over the £15 threshhold and had to pay £9 to Royal Mail, £8 of which was the fee. For doing exactly the same thing as they would with any other parcel.
  17. Lots of people here in the UK have said they've ordered several times from Gencon and never had to pay import duties. But I know somebody who got stung for £30+ last year. You should be able to work out the customs duty that you will be charged by looking at your postal service or governments websites. They make that information freely available. I think you basically pay whatever your countries VAT is on the goods (plus usually a handling fee). In the UK that is 20%.
  18. No, Henchmen are not auto includes (though I can't comment on Dreamer specifically). It depends on the strats/schemes/crews. Sometimes you'll play games where you play with more than one Hench too.
  19. Hannah will get a separate release for sure, when is another matter! Do Wyrd just release Gencon stuff in the months following normally or do other releases also make the schedule? As for P&P it seems that the rate for just miniatures is pretty good (somebody mentioned $10 for three crew boxes) but books add to that considerably so you might want to avoid that.
  20. Yeah I've no idea what's going on Bengt, it's there again now! But the Gencon announcement says those boxes aren't available until October at earliest so I think I'll probably hedge my bets and throw Hans on my Gencon order.
  21. It is against the law to mis-declare a customs declaration so no. But that doesn't mean it doesn't happen as I know CMON just slap $10 on everything.
  22. I like the Kirai box and don't have any of her stuff already so as a Resser player I'll be picking her up. I'm disappointed not to see some of the other things that are mentioned as must have with her available though. I like all the miniatures in the box and not having any of the current stuff to compare to makes it a much easier buy for me. I do prefer the metal version of Kirai though so I might try to get her (or even the whole metal box if I can find it cheap so I can get Datsue-Ba). The Dreamer box I absolutely love. I've wanted to do Neverborn for a while and have been waiting for them to re-do this in plastic as I love the fluff. But I've done a U-turn and decided to concentrate on my current factions for now in a bid to keep costs down so he'll have to wait for retail. Still the best Gencon crew box IMHO. I like the Lucius box and am tempted to pick it up for the Guild Guard/Lawyers to use with McMourning. But see above regarding keeping costs down! As an Outcast and VS player I'm very disappointed by the new box which is almost identical to what I already have. New VS is definitely better than the old one (which sucks so bad) but still isn't very good. And I'm not shelling out just to get the Steam Trunk which I should be able to convert pretty easily. Of the smaller boxes I like the Graveyard Spirit too and personally think it's miles better than the current one. Will be picking one up for sure. The Hanged I'm not sure on. I don't have a problem with the miniatures and think they're good (though I would paint them as spirits not flesh) but I picked up a Jackdaw recently to use as a Hanged and not sure I'd ever run two in a game (9SS minions are expensive!). Although with Kirai, Nicodem and eventually Molly as my Masters I guess having more than one wouldn't hurt (plus I will want Jackdaw when he's released). Hans I really like and will be picking up to add to my Outcasts now he appears to be Gencon not August release (although the August release announcement seems to disappear and reappear on my PC (need to clear the cache I guess). Malifaux Child is cool and I might pick up to add to my Outcasts but I tend to take Steam Trunk or Student of Conflict so not sure how much time he would get Samurai are something I was not expecting and I think they look awesome so are also a definite buy. Not sure I'll use three so one (or maybe two) might get sold/traded but I'm looking forward to painting them. Just covered the stuff that interests me personally. Honourable mentions go to Zorida and Doppelgänger
  23. Is Steam Trunk getting a bigger base? Read this somewhere but don't think it's in the latest FAQ/Errata?
  24. Ran Seamus without CCK for the first time last night! But I do love the little guy.
