  1. Okay I might as well explain what I meant. I believe that dropping markers mechanics was made to support bluffing mechanics. However this requires keeping schemes hidden. And even though revealing schemes is not as necessary in 2.0 as it was in 1.5 most people still choose to reveal them. I suppose the idea was good on paper. Yes there are some schemes which need to be kept hidden, but there’s an option not to pick them.
  2. You got me all wrong I don't mind bluffing. What bothers me is the new emphasis on dropping markers.
  3. Hobby Sofa Podcast Episode 3 It came out a week ago but I forgot to post a link of it here. In this episode we are joined by And Wiseman (@guildmonkee) from Soul stone train podcast. We will be talking About: Freehand painting, conflicting statements about arsenal decks, 1.5 section on this forum, and more. http://www.podcastgarden.com/episode/episode-03_3485 The picture below is a reference for freehand painting advise.
  4. The trouble with card layout is that illustrations for every profile got replaced by a tiny thumbnail showing fragment of the art.
  5. And after wave 2 they'll be busy with wave 3. ---------- Post added at 05:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ---------- And the big decision I have to take is: do I absolutely need to play with everything I own or not? You see I invested in all factions, I own over 150 profiles. So should I spend £80 ($110) on cards Just to be able to play with all the toys I already bought from Wyrd? I was hoping to save some money by trading cards with other players. But Wyrd strategically closed that avenue by making generic upgrades only available in arsenal decks.
  6. Looks like non of wyrd staff noticed this thread yet. Or pretend not to notice it.
  7. Maybe they will bring some to Salute.
  8. Oh I see you were talking about Your local scene, I thought you were talking about the forum. It’s very different in LGS. No negativity here. All my friends sticking with 1.5 but that's only 3 people. Me and Doctor Loxley managed to attract another half a dozen people who all bought starters, some bought more then one and a lot of single figures. (My painted miniatures attracted lot of attention and Loxley was giving demos.) But they don’t play in a store. I still see them, they come for card tournaments. They would probably be interested M2E ( I know one of them was very exited about it, I was actually promoting it before the public beta) but Loxley is no longer a henchman and I’m exhausted from the forum. (We just two punks who run out of steam.)
  9. I think there are only males left. So the forum rules reform came too late.
  10. Oh my God. There's just 3 of us left. Dracomax, PierceSternum and me. We're endangered species.:1_Exhausted_Puppet:
  11. Everyone entitled to their own opinion. I think Malifaux 2nd edition has both strengths and weaknesses. And there was less negativity towards 2nd edition then towards 1.5 Moderators managed to get this under control, but it was unchecked for more than a month. I’m still recovering from the trauma.
  12. This is a very interesting topic. Normally house rules never required licensing. So the big question here is: Does posting something online counts as publishing. Is this an infringement of IP or just players getting organised. We getting into a grey area here. If Wyrd wants to keep this under their control they need to do it them selves. It would be great if they did that because it would make the rules official rather than homebrew. Come on Eric, Mack, Justin we need a statement on this. Gen Con is over.
  13. This is really annoying. You see I get all factions. Does that mean I have get all 14 decks now. I was planning to get some of them and trade for the rest. I don’t need every card in the deck, particularly since I‘m planning to re buy a lot miniatures I already own because I like the new plastics. But generic upgrades only being available in arsenal decks nearly eliminates that. Was this done to reduce card trading? Each deck costs £6 that’s about $9 little more than in the US, but all together that’s £84 ($126) for the switch. Conflicting statements from Justin and Mack don’t help either. Justin says that everyone need to buy arsenal decks now, including people new to Malifaux. They can use the rest of the cards for reference. (But the profiles are in the book already). And Mack says that Arsenal Decks are just for transition they will become obsolete later. (So what happens to generic upgrade cards only available in Arsenal decks after they become obsolete?) What is going on? Is Gencon to blame for this chaos?
  14. I was talking about big competitions like Salute. The prizes are not just much smaller than in US conventions, but also happen to be unrelated. For example how it should be done, you take part in Malifaux competition and get Malifaux mins as a prize. At Salute if you get a 1st place in a fantasy category you will get a unit of Napoleonic infantry. Does that make sense ? ---------- Post added at 08:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:44 AM ---------- Clousseau ???
  15. Well done Maco, I'm very jealous. In US you actually get good prizes for competitions unlike here in UK. You mentioned you've been to Salute. When was this 2012 or 2013? Must have been quite a trip.
  16. And so shovel it is, with some burning coals in it as well. You might also notice that Kang’s queue braid hair is missing, that’s because I lost it (as it sometimes happens with small plastic bits). but I think I got away with it. More of his back is exposed because of it, and it’s a good excuse to paint some tattoos. The hat came from Rezolution miniature Arashi (male, from APAC starter). It makes him look like a character from "Big trouble in little China. The base as usual made from milliput.
  17. So Malifaux is a bit like a game show. It would be interesting to see Lady J and Nicodem shaking hands. Do you think it will ever happen.
  18. Ok what are two opposing crews (who were at each other’s throats seconds ago) do after the end of turn 6. (5 in M2E) Dust themselves off and leave opposite directions.
  19. Just out of curiosity what are two opposing crews (who were at each other’s throats seconds ago) do after the end of turn 5. Dust themselves off and leave opposite directions.
  20. In 1.5 if you summon a horde you get a horde of week fighters. Now because of interact actions significant puny hordes are much more valuable. They don't need to fight anymore. All they need to do is multiply (Preferably faster than opponent can kill them) and spam, spam, spam markers.
  21. Here's the last rail worker. Now how should I build Kang, with Hammer or shovel?
  22. People who were getting the books for character bios will not be happy about that.
  23. What's that about no plans for book 2 ? listen at 11 minutes 30 seconds.
