  1. Woops, my bad... Its what I get for reading your message half awake on my phone. Sorry!!
  2. Sidir isnt a legal target though if Perdita targets the first model to perform a specific action. He cannot be the first model to trigger Quick Draw if he is trying to use By Your Side, for obvious reasons, so would not become the new target but he can be used as a kind of meatshield though to help protect the other master.
  3. Now I have the Card I'd go with the following, remove Too Far Gone and Easy to Wound 1. Give them Armour 1 and Critical Strike [sword] :rams although this wouldn't be built in. Then change Surprise to only effect Guild Models (living or otherwise) and if they fail allow the Guild Autopsy to make a free ranged strike at all models that fail (since its not likely to happen often). And change the CC so only a 5 of any suit is needed. I think this would make them much better but not an auto include.
  4. I think it will discourage it since you score VP each turn and you wont want to give your opponent too much of a head start. Currently most Stategies and Schemes dont need you to do anything asap, instead you have time to do other things first. Personally I have no issue with killing weaker things to boost/produce other models. Since the OP obviously wants to play this way we should advise them on how to play that way. Plus I rather like the having to think things through in regards to setting up your crew turn one, perhaps the OP might do aswell. Eitherway theres little point in us arguing about a personal preference since we cant be wrong or right on such a matter.
  5. So Kirai can kill them but other masters cant? McMourning loses nothing chasing Dogs up the board for BP and Nicodem likes slaughtering lots of dogs for MZ and neither loses a thing for doing so. Nicodem can still move up the board as can McMourning.
  6. Its really not, some masters benefit too much from a first turn set up to simply ignore it. Kirai benefits from it and is fast enough not to care about losing a turn of moving her max distance.
  7. 1) I'd drop you Pool to 5 for the Dog, if you're careful you shouldn't need the extra stones but if you prefer to be cautious then stick with swapping the Seishin. 2) Except for the mistake I made, this is correct. You can draw any duel (when resisting friendly spells) but otherwise you have it right. For a moment I had it in my head it was Wp resists only rather than any resist. 3) Its on the Mercs card, 'A Last Noble Deed'. It helps Kirai keep up the summoning. Just to point out the Gaki is placed before the model is removed so the Corpse is dropped regardless (since Gaki are Graverobbers) thus making the order in which the Dog and Merc dies, irrelevant. They still drop a Corpse and because they are in base contact with it they can instantly pick it up.
  8. Just to point out Spirit Food only works on enemy models so no using it on your own Desperate Merc for a free Gaki First thing you do is have a Seishin move up, then Kirai uses In the Spirit World up the board and sacs 2 Seishin for a Shikome. Then you go about getting the free models. To make sure your Merc and Dog are both on a single wound have the Dog attack the merc, this is done like a normal duel so if the Mercs defence flip beats the Dogs attack flip the attack misses. Make sure the difference is enough to cheat, and make sure the dog does 3 wounds in total with its 2 attacks. This now means the Merc's wound flip cancels out the Hard to Wound on the Dog allowing you to make sure you only do 2 wounds to the dog via cheating. If you are willing to wait another turn I usually move them up the board first so not to waste the Onryo/Gaki or Kirai's activations moving them into position. When Datsue-ba casts weigh sins it now doesnt matter what the Merc or Dog flips as they can choose to draw the result as its a Wp resist, if it was a Df flip you have to cheat as normal (like with the Dog and Merc attacking one another). Datsue-ba now only needs to meet the CC requirement (and if she gets a Crow on either casting she turns them in to a Onryo instead plus Kirai gets her Seishin and a healing flip from the Merc if she is within 4", as a Kirai player do not forget this free healing!! ---------- Post added at 11:00 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:57 AM ---------- Just realised you have no Dog so I recommend getting one next, a simple replacement for the Dog is have either the Seishin bash the Merc and teleport to Kirai when she is in position or have Datsue-ba hit the merc once to reduce her wounds.
  9. I would imagine any part of the board edge that is within your opponents deployment zone is the enemies board edge, any part of the board edge that is within your deployment is friendly and the rest is neutral. This means that were you only able to deploy within the middle of the board on one edge (which is your deployment zone). And the corners were not part of your deployment zone, then those parts would be all neutral and Dust could appear on at least part of any board edge. (I realise this is harder to imagine without an image.)
  10. It depends if you focus on Zombies (using Rafkin and lots of dogs) and whether you avatar or not. The most Ive had while trying to have as many as possible is 17, although it would have been higher had I not turned a few into other things for a bit of extra hitting power. In short if you dont plan to summon loads then 6-9, if you want to avatar/Rafkin then 12-15 and if you plan to avatar and use Rafkin then 15-18. Keep in mind this is only a guide and you play style may change this slightly.
  11. Pretty much what Kadeton said. It just says you cant drop a Corpse Counter so you may as well place Scrap instead. How its worded is excellent to get round certain things like that, eg the Dead Rider would only produce a single Zombie via corpses but with Empty Vessel you get 3 instead. Hamelin's Voracious Rats ability is another good example of an ability Empty Vessel effectively ignores.
  12. 1) He needs Tomes for his trigger. Theres only 6 cards he can use for summoning however when you use them he should be bringing out 4+ models at least and so he really only needs the high crow once or twice per game. I think this balances out rather nicely. His role is mostly summoning (with Nicodem) however he can fight well just not vs armour or enemy heavy hitters. 2) His damage profile isnt that much worse than the Dead Riders and with his trigger it is the same/higher. You dont want to be targeting friendly models as the ranged weapon has poison 2 which will hurt your own models. The ranged weapon is a bonus if you can get it to work vs an opponent but I usually use it to kill a lot of Canine Remains at the start of a game so Nicodem and raise them and start giving Rafkin body parts until he can summon anything from 9-15 Mindless Zombies in a turn. 3) He summons by discarding body parts. He can gain them by picking up corpses and converting them or by nearby corpses being sacrificed or discarded. These in turn can be discarded when he casts Hasty Disposal. He can use two body parts for a Mindless Zombie or 4 for a Guild Autopsy. He can summon as many of either as he wants and may mix between the two freely as long as he has the body parts available. (Considering he can, over 3 turns, collect around 20ish body parts its possible to summon a few of each.) 4) Its an aura so it lasts until the end of the turn. But dont knock having say, 12 Hard to Kill Mindless Zombies when combined with aNicodem as the damage quickly adds up. I cant personally say how he works with Seamus as Ive only run him with Nicodem but when you combine Rafkin with a/Nicodem it makes it very easy to complete the Resurrectionist Schemes as well as Nicodem's personal Scheme. I certainly include him in about 75+% of my games when I use Nicodem.
  13. As Im not 100% sure on the rules on this sort of thing Ill keep it kind of brief just in case. His stats are fairly average except his Df which is 5 and his Wd which is 9 so not bad for 7SS. He gathers body parts like McMourning (except only from enemy models and through an ability not a trigger) and also has Passion for His Work. He is effectively immune to Poison, except that Poison tokens are used to heal him instead. His Knife is 2/3/5 Cb5 and can use the Trigger Amputate for an additional 1/2/3 damage flip. His ranged attack is the same Cb but does minimal damage but has - / / :blast and poison 2. He has a (1) action which gives him a body part for each a counter that is sacrificed or discarded with 6".He can heal an undead model for a (0) action which if he discards body parts can also remove tokens as well. His other (0) action can heal himself but if he heals more than 2 wounds it ends his activation. His two spells either can give all friendly undead within 4" Hard to Kill and this needs an 8+ to cast or he can use his (All) action spell he can summon either Mindless Zombies and/or Guild Autopsies although this depends on how many body parts he has/is willing to discard and that needs a 9+ :crows I find he works best as a way for Nicodem to quickly build up a lot of zombies using Canine remains. Hope this helps somewhat and doesn't break any rules. I may end up updating his Pullmyfinger entry since it is a little empty looking.
  14. Id just remove Too Far Gone completely as otherwise it has little appeal to other Masters since it cant be recycled very effectively. Id up the Wounds by 2 (since Im guessing its 6?) That should make for a pretty nice semi resilient Significant model.
  15. It looks like you would be simply sacrificing Lazarus to give your opponent Killjoy.
  16. Im usually prepared to spend the first turn or two walking up the board with Nicodem, assuming I dont have Toshiro to help out. If I were to use A & D it would be for Strategies and Schemes that will force my opponent to come to me to help reduce Nicodems speed issue. Also woo, my 100th post! XD
  17. Hmm perhaps... I was thinking of pairing him up with Rafkin to try and pump out SPAs and Zombies... Maybe even with aNicodem too. It should be interesting regardless.
  18. I think I may do, certainly looks fun and and seems to have potential (in theory). I can add it to the list of unusual combos I intend to try. I shall make sure to post them all and let people see how they do!
  19. I meant A&D summoning SPA's when it kills things. Possibly Mindless Zombies should the need 'Arise'... Ill get my coat XD
  20. It seems a little risky but Im hoping the slight shock of such a pairing may help put someone off to some extent. Plus I think it may be worth the extra SS in some Strategies especially as they seem to offset the others weakness to a degree. If I did buy some SPAs I'd only go for 4 and a Desolation Engine as I wouldn't expect to be so lucky as to get more... Not unless he can turn Mindless Zombies into SPAs?
  21. I'm hoping to start using Nicodem a lot more for both casual and tournament games but I was wondering if its worth purchasing an Ashes & Dust for Nicodem? Is it a competitive combo or would it be something to leave for friendly games? He seems fairly fast and resilient, plus its survival tricks and ability to summon SPA's seems fairly funny. Also if it is worth getting, how many Steampunk Abominations would be ideal to get and would it be worth getting a Desolation Engine, just in case?
  22. Can I reserve a place for a friend Ashley Payne?
  23. Its because if you dont announce it you have to make sure its secretly noted. Not revealing the target would in some cases help I totally agree. Lets hope some of the strategies and schemes get tweaked in Malifaux 2.0 as well as getting some new ones.
  24. Im fairly sure it was ruled you have to declare all parts of a chosen Scheme, i.e which model you selected, although I think not announcing the specific model would help somewhat with players killing the Grudge and/or Kill Protege targets.
  25. Apart from Beatdown Im liking the changes. Definitely looking forward to this one as well!
