  1. The nice thing with Zoraida is that pretty much every model she can take works well with her in some way. Some really useful models to have in your collection are Voodoo Doll (obviously), Lelu/Lilitu, Tuco, Ophelia + others to taste, Insidious Madness, Von Schill, Wicked Dolls, Effigies, Terror Tots (as they are good objective grabbers) maybe a few others. She is an awesome master.
  2. I like Joss also just for the ability to turn up the damage to horrible levels ---------- Post added at 11:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:01 AM ---------- A little more expensive though....
  3. Or a guardian to make Lady J stupidly resilient as well as hitting like a truck....
  4. Although it seems like a strange choice I like the Death Marshal/Witchling Stalker Combo. 2 of one and 1 of the other or 2 of each. That way you have 1/2 bargain close combat machines and 1/2 bargain shooters.
  5. Well from my experience facing colette, I tend to focus first on cassandra and the duet. This is because they are the only "real damage dealers" in a colette list. I tend to find that once they are gone, although colette can still complete numerous objectives, she has to do it without killing too many models. The rest of your list of things to do is pretty much the same though. As to the other 14ss, with 6 Gremlins in your list ever thought of Ophelia? She is an amazing henchmen and stops you blowing your own models away so much.
  6. I think the reason for this is that with the Viks you essentially get two masters, with the ability to get another one if she dies. This is compensated for with the cache of 0 but when combined with another master so there is a basic cache things can get quite nasty.
  7. Also quite a scary tactic when you use Leveticus and Molly together. Leveticus' spells coming from two directions is not something your opponent wants :)
  8. Well if you ever plan on playing brawls (rare I know but) then Nico and Kirai are a brilliant combination. Pretty much every model killed is two for you!
  9. Personally I'd go with Zoraida (and in this case you can get away with just buying Zoraida and a Voodoo doll). She works very well with the models you have and, with the Insidious Madness, can even strip away immune to influence to obey models you normally couldn't. You also have lots of obey targets in your own crew.Otherwise, if you are willing to spend a bit more, pandora is brilliant. I would say, though, to be wary of your gaming group. I have pandora and my group do not like me playing her.
  10. If you are looking for more shooting potential then the new guild riflemen when they come out should be right up your street, and you don't have to pay the extra ss for them. Though more expensive, hiring Mercenaries can be useful. You have obviously spotted them and Hans or The Trapper do add cover for your crew. Other useful mercenaries are The Student of Conflict, Bishop (although expensive), Taelor and the Renegade Steamfitter Johan. On the guild side, Austringers add an element of extra range to the crew, and are always a good choice (one of the best totem killers in the game). In higher Soulstone games, adding Death Marshals or Witchling Stalkers is also really useful. Adding Abuela (who can Shotgun Wedding a model) lets you take advantage of the family rule with an extra model and heal your crew.
  11. Yes, as the Dreamer is a spirit, Kirai can team up with him in a brawl. The best way to check these combinations is to use the crew creator at Malifaux.com. No unfortunately Hoffman cannot hire Coryphee (except in a brawl with Colette, but then it is an arcanist crew anyways). In order to construct a crew ALL hiring restrictions must be met (there is a similar situation where Leveticus can hire Collodi as a henchmen, the weaver widow has a special rule which allows her to go in a crew containing Collodi but she is not allowed in this crew because of Leveticus' hiring restrictions). Hoffmans ability to allow a construct to ignore a listed ability is a DURING ENCOUNTER ability and so does not take effect until the start of the encounter. Hope this helps.
  12. No you can't. They are both special forces.
  13. No No thats np. I like to big up the slate ridge mauler - he gets a hard time. With Raspy the crew you pick is very much dependent on which strategy you flip and which schemes you intend to take. Some models which you will find useful for her and who I have had good use from are: Ice Gamin, Silent Ones, Slate Ridge Mauler, Blessed of December, Kaeris, Gunsmiths, Convict Gunslinger, Snow Storm (in 35ss+ games normally), Essence of Power, Mechanical Rider and Taelor Lady Hammerstrike. The main thing to remember is to have a model which can be a good bodyguard for Raspy, else against dreamer crews, viks crews and the like you can get yourself into trouble.
  14. I have said this many times - in my opinion the slate ridge mauler is perfect for a Raspy crew. He is 2ss less than the ice golem, has a higher potential damage output and can get armour +2 and frozen heart from Raspy (solving some of his durability problems and meaning that the silent one can heal him). Also the fact that he is slow is less important as Raspy is so slow. He makes a great bodyguard/beatstick in my opinion.
  15. Pretty much. Although that is nothing to be sniffed at. Molly + Totem casting Levi's spells is nasty.....
  16. Assuming that you are able to shrug off the negative part of the massive dose effect (i.e. dying) aMcMourning for turn two manifest and having an activation for the win.
  17. And the good thing is if you like Leveticus and want to start him later on, most (if not all) of the constructs which Ramos can take can also be taken by Leveticus. I would also agree that Ramos is generally a better starting point. Just make sure you get that mobile toolkit totem. That is awesome!
  18. One other model to consider is the Slate Ridge Mauler. You will hear a lot of people giving it a lot of stick for being slow and dying quickly but this is not true in a Raspy crew in particular. Raspy is slower so no problem there. Plus Raspy can give the Mauler armour +2 which is the same as the ice golems. It hits harder than the ice golem too, and is 2ss cheaper. When it comes to Snow Storm - She is great, but not in a game smaller than 35ss. Snow Storm tends to only come out when I have flipped a strategy which requires me to move quickly. Other models I like with Raspy are the Convict Gunslinger and Gunsmiths. Raspy is a really powerful area denial piece, but you tend to find that her crew moves as a group (mainly because she will die if someone sneezes in her direction). The Gunslinger and Gunsmiths are useful as they can operate independently and are great area denial pieces themselves. Kaeris is also awesome!
  19. I have never actually used Bishop. Although his card looks like he should be really awesome I always think that for one less soulstone I could have Lady Hammerstrike or even Von Schill, both of which (especially Von Schill) have always served my Viks crew well.
  20. Unfortunately not. 0/0 is not defined, not even as infinity and certainly not as 1 or 0. Historically, one of the earliest recorded references to the mathematical impossibility of assigning a value to a /0 is contained in George Berkeley's criticism of infinitesimal calculus in The Analyst. You can consider a limit as the denominator tends towards zero. In this case, for some number a, lim_{x->0}a/x=sign(a)*infinity. Generally the only case where division by zero is even slightly considered is on the Riemann sphere, where the number 1 (and only 1) can be divided by zero to give 1/0=infinity. This is only a very special case for a very peculiar set. You are correct that zero is not prime. It is divisible by every number except 0. Indeed, for 0/a to make sense for any a you need only find a number b such that a x b = 0.
  21. I dont have the card but I believe that it is still based on Collodi. I think it is like Nicodem's ability to throw a mindless zombie in the way, you can imagine Collodi pulling his marionettes strings to put the marionette in the way. ---------- Post added at 11:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:36 PM ---------- I may be wrong but that's how I have interpreted it.
  22. +1 to the comment by Mr.Soulstone. Snow storm is awesome with a Raspy crew (well a 30-35ss+ Raspy crew anyways) and an 8 wound spirit with soft cover is quite durable (which is what a Raspy crew needs), although FAR from indestructible. I also think that Marcus has many better choices. Snow storm loses a lot of effectiveness when he cannot drag more than one model around.
