  1. Folks, herewith the Players' Pack: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2a_dHzsd9p6QnM2dm1UTjUzWnM/view?usp=sharing You can register at http://www.cgs.asn.au/cancon/tournaments/a-tyrant-arises/ Please PM Dhampir or me if you have any questions.
  2. The models are lovely, I agree. Just not "guild guard" models. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the female guard crossed the line from "cheesecake" to "objectified".
  3. Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this. And I can't believe I'm the first person to mention it, but... I'm really disappointed with the plastic Guild Guards supplied with the Lucius boxed set. They are beautiful, as are all the sculpts, but they look too different to the original metal guards for my taste. The original guards looked like they might have been the bad guys in a Zorro film; however, the new guards look like gunslingers who wandered into the box by mistake. The male guard resembles a slimmer version of Jeff Bridges in RIPD, while the female guard looks like a reject Perdita sculpt. Why couldn't their outfits have borne at least some resemblance to the old guard uniforms? I'm particularly unhappy that the female guard is wearing a low-cut top instead of a full blouse with chest trim. Maybe I'm the only one on the planet who cares, but these look generic...even - dare I say it - lazy. Or am I alone in this?
  4. Thank you both for your responses - makes perfect sense (I was overthinking this).
  5. Apologies if this has already been raised - I checked the forum but couldn't find anything. AFAIK, Molly has 0 (zero) engagement range because she has no Ml weapons. However, the Tears of the Gorgon upgrade includes the (0) The Gorgon's Cry action: "Terrifying (All) 12: [...] if they end a Walk action within this model's engagement range or target this model with an Action." (My emphasis.) What's the consensus? Does this imply that Molly does have an engagement range, or does Terrifying only kick in if she's targeted with an Action?
  6. Not sure about the cupcake, but the chihuahua in a teacup is fantastic!
  7. 11am, May 31, here on the east coast of Oz. Where's my beta? Please, please wake up O you lovely Maifaux peeps and say "close enough to May 31, let's do this!"
  8. No. ---------- Post added at 09:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:56 AM ---------- No. But they like them a lot. However, Creedence and Steve Earle are far preferred by Gremlins. On the other hand, The Humph Family is preferred to Two Cow Garage or Trampled By Turtles. They don't like Slobberbone, because they are Gremlins and therefore have no taste. They've never heard of Graveyard Train.
  9. Do gremlins listen to Creedence Clearwater Revival? Should I dust off my old CCR LPs now that they're getting their own faction?
  10. Hear, hear! The plastic miniatures are beautiful, but I don't think transport and use were considered in their design.
  11. Why? Colette doesn't have a monopoly on showgirls. (Don't get me wrong - she's my fave master and the reason I got into the game in the first place.)
  12. If I have two identical minions, will they be required to take the same upgrade? Or will it be on a model-by-model basis?
  13. It sounds like, overall, the upgrades are not really an issue if they're not mutually exclusive (the bone path vs the pinata path/Caster Z vs Melee Z). Frankly, I don't want to choose which version of Lady J I take into a game: she's Lady J, after all. She has a personality and I don't think I should have to choose between different abilities. (That's probably why I don't much like Avatars, I guess.) And, since I play Colette as much as all my other masters combined, I feel that all her abilities are must-haves.
  14. I may well be shot for this, but having had a beer and refreshed my limited knowledge of Yan Lo and McCabe, my gut feeling is "gimmick". Especially Yan Lo. In which case, wouldn't the sensible thing be to -- Ah! Realisation just hit! -- Sonnia's ability to create Witchling Stalkers isn't necessary for this Encounter, therefore I can dispense with it and the extra point(s) gets me up to the extra I need for that Executioner... Now that I look at it like that...that changes things...I need another beer. But before I go, I still think Yan Lo is gimmicky. (But Mike3838 may well be a genius.)
  15. Thanks, that gives me something to go on. I'm not familiar with either of them, but I can read over their stats when I get home. Otherwise, I'm just guessing.
  16. I'd like to get people's views on this whole upgrade thing. Everything else I've heard about the V2 changes makes a lot of sense. But...this...I dunno. Something about it just seems...gimmicky, I guess. Is it necessary? Does it add to the game at all? Thoughts?
  17. Thank you! Arrived today and they're sweeeeeet as!
  18. Finally did it at Cancon in the brawl: C. Hoffmann's mobile toolkit provided the third tome. It was only a Terror Tot, but it's a start! Does anyone have any suggestions for alternate mannequin models?
  19. Many thanks for the clarification!
  20. Apologies if this has been asked before (I couldn't find it). This question relates to both Sonnia's Nullify Magic and the Witchling Stalkers' Disrupt Magic. In both cases, the action generates a 6" aura that causes a - or -- on enemy models' casting flips. Does the aura work if: 1. The enemy model is in the aura radius? 2. The enemy model is casting at a target in the radius from outside? My feeling is 1. Yes 2. No but better to find out what the community thinks!
  21. He thinks he's soooo clever.
