  1. That's why I haven't seen a like in a few hours! Come back RobertB and CharleyY and other hilariously people-named bots!
  2. Watch out, the vaccine wears off relatively quickly, leading to more purchases. It's how you end up with all the gremlins in a month.
  3. I play almost exclusively at home. Our LGS has a Malifaux night that has been supposedly getting bigger. I have been meaning to check that out but it is at a fairly inconvenient time for me as I play mainly in the afternoons instead of at night.
  4. Welcome to Malifaux! The only way to make sure you don't get re-infected by GW is to regularly vaccinate yourself with Wyrd plastics.
  5. As gremlins aren't real, they are always in scale. Everything is always in scale.
  6. Dude, Asrian just hooked it up on the info. That's a great new resource. Welcome to Malifaux (and wargaming) Dizb! I got my wargaming start with Malifaux way back in the early days. You couldn't ask for a better community to learn in. The only additional thing I would suggest is finding if you have a local henchman or group of players. The henchman list is here. A local group of players (especially if some have experience wargaming) is one of the most valuable resources you could have.
  7. Ressers are the worst and Dirial is smelly! (Am I derailing this correctly?)
  8. Welcome to Malifaux! Unlike these other two fools, I will invite you to the chat; a far superior way to ask questions. Or just hang out. Praetor and I are in there pretty frequently along with plenty of other people who are more than happy to help. Flip well!
  9. They look like chunks of cork glued to pins. Paint 'em up and put some grass/ballast/details on each rock and you are good to go. Planning them looks to be the most painful part.
  10. That is awesome. Those bases look great. Honestly, they wouldn't be that hard to pull off.
  11. I haven't found that it takes any fantastic level of skill, personally. In fact, once I upgraded to a real plastic cement that actually works correctly, I found my building get better with no extra effort. Now patience... it does take a bit more of that. It's worth it though.
  12. We need a few relic hammers.... that will take care of those pesky spam constructs.
  13. I am somehow having the same problem. I beg of you Wyrd, don't stop them. It feels like people finally like me! So many greenface likes!
  14. These are phenomenal. Clearly the 20+ hour weeks are paying off!
  15. They came out in January, with limited availabilities before that. The female kit is apparently slightly large. My LGS has two of each, male and female, so I wouldn't be surprised if your LGS has some right now. Here is an unboxing by forum user gmort.
  16. Yeah. It's really about having the basics. You can mix just about anything you need.
  17. A phrase we all need to apply to life more frequently.
  18. We all have our strengths. That's what makes a community. I, for one, will probably never be a strategy guru either.
  19. That is a terrible building situation! At least you get time to build though, right? Maybe invest in a small tupperware-type thing to build over so that there is a lid to put on when things get busy again? Just spit-balling. I know the curse of the sausage finger quite well. Tweezers are a lifesaver.
  20. I own and have used Apple Barrel paints. Do they work? Sure. They are best suited for models you don't really care about though. They don't have much pigment to them, they are rough, and they just don't work that well on minis. The other downside is they really aren't that much cheaper than any of the paints you will find at your LGS. In the end, if you want great results, you are going to have to pay a bit more. The good news is it won't really be much more. As others in the thread have said, just buy the paints as you need them. You really don't need that many colors overall at any given time so just grab a few bottles of what you need for the models you are currently working on. I prefer this method over the "buy a set of paints" method as you don't end up with a bunch of unused colors. I personally use Vallejo paints and a regular palette ($.89 at the crafts store) but there is certainly nothing wrong with grabbing any of the others brands and using a wet palette. I would suggest the dropper-style bottles personally as they tend to dry out less in my experience. The only other thing I would suggest buying to get you started out is a variety of brushes to figure out what type/size/style you enjoy working with. Honestly, I'm not sure about others' LGSs but mine doesn't stock a particularly good selection of brushes (pretty much just the beginner GW set and Series 7s) so I end up trying a lot of things from local art stores and local craft stores. A bonus of this method is that the brushes are typically cheaper. Before I end up making this wall of text any larger, look up some painting tutorials on youtube and enjoy painting the minis.
  21. I second this. Sometimes I forget how lucky we are that the Malifaux community typically doesn't fall apart at the seams the second there is a disagreement or an offense. This is one of many times I have seen discourse like this on the forums over the years and I am always happy to run across it.
  22. I have never seen the two side by side, so I would definitely like to see that picture. For some reason I remember the coffins that came with the metal Death Marshals to be slightly different from the base accessories ones... maybe I'm crazy, I never owned both. The plastic ones are going to be a little harder to find as they only come with current death marshals zfiend has given you pretty much the only options.
  23. Mine aren't even labeled correctly all the time. We try and keep corpse and scrap counters properly represented but scheme markers? I might be dropping old treasure chest markers and dynamite markers while my opponent drops blood counters. So long as everyone knows whats going on and the markers are the right size, all is good in the world.
  24. The nice thing about resin bases is, depending on what you want to spend, there are tons of options for most styles (except regular floorboards and tiled floor for some reason.) 1 2 3 4 5 The real problem seems to be that they are always priced in these weird non-freedom based currencies.
  25. http://giveusyourmoneypleasethankyou-wyrd.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16238&category_id=264 Why, coffins would be available from your friendly Wryd webstore. They are metal but should be in the same scale.
