  1. Thanks. Since I do this for a living, projects of this size are very helpful.
  2. That's what happens when you devote 20+ hours a week to painting over several year.
  3. Hey, guys. It's been a while since I've had a chance to paint any Malifaux minis, but now I feel like I've painted most of them thanks to this rather large commission project I finished up this month. 4. Thanks! The ghost town bases are pretty cool. It was a little sad that the accessories pack was almost completely useless for models on the small bases, though.

  6. I'll try anything once. About 12 years ago I picked up some craft paints called Jo Sonja. They were some of the nicest paints that I'd ever tried. They were tube paints and tend to be thicker than most hobby paints but they were also very pigment-dense and very smooth. They thinned well so I had no problems using them. Sadly, they stopped being carried at the local craft store so I stopped using them. I recently decided to pick up some new tubes online. Not only are they still good - they actually appear to have improved over the years. They're much easier to work with than liquitex acrylics. Also, for about the price of a bottle of hobby paint you can buy a tube that will literally last you for years. I mostly use hobby paints, though. Citadel and P3 being the most prevalent, but I also have a lot of Vallejo's in the toolbox as well. I actually like Vallejo paints for airbrush work but otherwise I find them a little fiddly to work with. Much as I like the dropped bottles I can't tell you how many times I've had issues with them clogging up. Many of the colors separate a lot and no amount of shaking seems to remedy the situation to my satisfaction. I've been experimenting with paint additives recently. Golden's retarder is now a regular in my arsenal. I haven't found any flow aids that I like yet. On the other hand... wait until you get to try the new Citadel medium. That stuff rocks the house. How do I know? They included it in the paint brush set they sold around Christmas time and I immediately fell in love. I went through two bottles of it in no time because I found that I was using it as a flow aid, a thinner, and as a base for mixing washes (which is does extremely well since it appears to BE the base that GW uses in their washes).
  7. Thanks, everybody. It's a wonderful sculpt, full of emotion. It gave me a chance to play with dark skin tones (something I've always avoided). Specifically, it let me test out my new Jo Sonja flesh tone base color. Love those Jo Sonja paints.
  8. Just finished this up as part of a commission. This is Perdita. The rest of the gang will be coming later. Perdita Ortega by Jay Adan, on Flickr
  9. Thanks! I thought that this was a good set to experiment with that.
  10. Same here. I go by the same policy myself (which means I don't play as many games as I might otherwise like to).
  11. We haven't started placing orders for product yet, but I think so. We like games with nice starter boxes like Malifaux has. It makes it easy to carry the game without needing to dedicate too much shelf space to any one game. The product mix will be very similar to the Greenfield Store. It is smaller so we're cutting back on some things - like GW and PP blister packs. (BTW - For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about... I own a game store in Greenfield, MA called Greenfield Games and we're about to open a second store in Hadley, MA).
  12. Oh wow... I didn't know it would do that (with the video).
  13. :hahaha: Poos... It doesn't take much to get a decent picture... but starting out with a dedicated camera (as opposed to whatever your phone can do) is a good place to start. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN51v9Kj1KM]I have a fairly extensive setup for doing photos[/ame] but that's not really necessary for getting a decent photo.
