  1. Fairly certain you can't target yourself with any attack unless stated otherwise.
  2. Expanding on these points. 4) If Simply Green fails go to Castrol Super Clean. Basically a harsher, less environmentally friendly, harder to dispose of version. I've had the same tub of it stripping models for close to a year now. Wear gloves though when using it, since it can cause a chemical burn. 14)Saving your characters and centrepiece models for last is the best way to batch paint. It breaks up the monotony of paint many simpler models, and it is a nice reward to look forward to. Its really hard to paint your grunts when all your cool stuff is already done.
  3. 2014, Sir Prize the male showgirl.
  4. I'm sure there can be many jokes made over the name of this model being the Miss for the year M2E launched. I'll always know her as Miss "I should have let the community name it".
  5. So decided I'm going to try and get at least one Malifaux model done for the Gaming Expo's painting contest next weekend. Avatar Sonnia's arms are stupid.
  6. So apparently after the painting contest devolved into a popularity contest it was changed to staff vote. Still surprised my Canoness won small base.
  7. Welp, my bard got retired last night. Was killed by an undead Goliath in a treasure room, then came back to life as a ghoul, then decided to stay behind when we found the portal room. He decided to go back to the treasure and take that magic crown that lead to his death and become Zeke the Bard/Dirgesinger king of the ghouls.
  8. Originally this was planned as a video game only event, but a few people pushed for tabletop and we got an entire area dedicated to various non-digital games. As such I will be running Malifaux demos from start to whenever both days of the convention for anyone with time to kill between a rounds. Located at the Fredericton Exhibiton Center – 361 Smythe St. Fredericton, NB General admission is $10, and $20 for tournament entry. Doors open at 10am on August 10th and 11th More details can be found on their website. http://www.frederictongamingexpo.com/ Two notes: I didn't write the Malifaux description, and I've been trying to get it changed. Details for the Golden Brush being run by one of the local TOs. There is no entry fee beyond general admission so if you got something to show, may as well enter. Date: 11 Aug 13 Time: Registration/Drop off between 1000h and 1100h Pick up and Awards: 1600h Format: Models will be displayed at the Fredericton Gaming Expo, and will be voted on by the general public to determine the winner. 9. I dunno, I post my WFB stuff on Librarium online. Damien Pedley (Mr.Dee online) posts his WiP stuff there, and nothing makes you more inferior than seeing your models next to a Golden Demon finalist.
  10. Sometimes I think everything sucks, but then I'm reminded that the world is awesome.
  11. I really should invest more into my Malifaux terrain. Probably add in another building box to my terraclips, or maybe one of the dungeonrise sets. I think Vaults is the one with good stuff for doing ruined buildings. I have a rainfall warning, yay rain.
  12. I really wish I liked the other IT labs better on campus. This fan is really getting annoying. I always have this passing interest to start a horde force but can never find enough models that work well together to make an army. Don't like Trolls at all, like the beasts for Circle and Everblight but none of the casters appeal to me and don't like most of the infantry, and Minions don't have enough options. Front runner is Skorne, but Makeda is the only one that is really appealing to me. Basically I'd be doing my Khador list but trading massive spike damage and ranged combat, for high speed melee combat. Skorne infantry also looks stupid (mostly the heads), but I think a different colour scheme would fix that.
  13. Its personal preference. If I'm doing a lot of similar models I'll paint them assembly line style. Basically lets you keep a steady pace by not having to wait for paint to dry. Larger models, or more detailed/characterful I'll do one at a time. Reminds me I should finish my skaven team. They're in the painting queue somewhere.
  14. They may be a pain to maintain when done, but they're great for testing things on since they strip so easily.
  15. It depends on what you want. I highlight dark colours before washing and bright colours after. Mostly personal preference. There is also no exact science to thinning paint. I usually just spread some out then dip my brush in water and mix it in until its a consistency I like. Rule of thumb is smooth but not runny.
  16. Plastics I find are fine to prime right away, but resin and metal needs to be washed to allow the primer to stick well.
  17. Almost done the kodiak. Just have the other arm to do, and then touch-ups after getting it all together.
  18. Its the stuff with future shine you want. This one specifically. Water works well on smaller areas, but the pledge did way better when tried on larger flat areas.
  19. The fan is still squeaky. Hopefully hell freezes over and it gets fixed before the lab tomorrow. I'd rather not listen to it for 4 hours.
  20. I dislike caster kill from an introductory stand point. Repeatedly losing out of nowhere can quickly sour ones opinion of the game.
  21. There is a squeaky fan in the linux lab that is rather annoying. It sounds like there is a rodent orgy in the background.
  22. Like you mentioned on your blog we're just on opposite ends of the spectrum. We like and don't like a lot of the same mechanics and changes, just I find the good out-weighs the bad on my outlook. My biggest hope out of the new edition is to finally get more people playing the game locally. Hopefully when I get my hands on the new book I don't get screwed over by some external factor. So far I've made/planned three big pushes for Malifaux locally that all got scrapped by some external event. First was 6E 40k, second was an explosion in warmahorde popularity, and third was actually the M2E beta (because its hard to promote a system that is changing weekly). Art is subjective, but I'm interested to hear your thoughts on community in the next podcast. I'm been part of a lot of different gaming communities and each is very different.
