  1. The first thing I said is why is she so proportionally screwed up? I could care less about her chest, but that model seriously bothers me due to how little thought was put into the proportions of the mini - especially considering she is wearing a massive suit of armor. Some parts, most noticeably the legs, would not allow anything to fit inside of the armor. Look at the ankles of that model...
  2. I would only look into it if it was like the Fantasy Flight card games and not collectible. I hate anything "collectible" and don't want to spend my money on that stuff ever again. It annoys me to no end to not be able to directly purchase what I want.
  3. I would just build all my terrain with various levels and put in no handicap wheelchair access.
  4. When it comes to painting the "crease" that is something to take up with the artist more than the miniature sculptor. But it has always seemed to me to be just one of those stylized painting choices. It is a bit cartoony, but it is meant to bring out and over-emphasize detail. I don't find it to be much different from non-metallic metals or source-lighting - which are also cartoony techniques meant to evoke a look through over-exaggeration. And if we are really going to complain about the "objectifying" that goes on from creating a visual focus on the breasts by painting an exaggerated shadow at the top why are people not complaining that it is a standard on female miniatures to paint make-up? Perdita in her fluff is described as strikingly lithe and beatiful, but her personality is very direct, practical, and focused. She is all business. I highly doubt she spends a lot of time doing her make-up before hunting Nephilim. The same goes for most of the women in this setting. The only ones I can really imagine spending time on make-up would be the Showgirls and possibly Rusty Alice (she is a teen-ager after all). Yet most female models have eye-shadow and lip-stick - and sometimes some rouge. It seems to be a trend in most fantasy/sci-fi artwork and miniature games. In general it makes the models more attractive - which I assume is the point.
  5. I have many times. My girlfriend does not have fake breasts, but when she dresses up to go out her bra and blouses force her cleavage up and it does end up shaped like that. Many outfits that boost and magnify the shape of breasts do that. And the victorian & renaissance era clothing seems to have emphasized this even more.
  6. One thing to note about a lot of the models from book 1 is that they were made as models to paint before there necessarily was a game. It looks to me that Wyrd sorta shoe-horned their existing models into the game where they could when they first designed it. But I think it is also worth mentioning, again and again and again, that this is a Viktorian setting and that involves a lot of uncomfortable clothing in the name of fashion - such as corsets and bustiers. And I have to wonder about those people claiming that natural breasts do not form the bulge on the top. They do when outfits are designed to boost and shape cleavage - which many outfits are meant to do. They need to wear something to support and prevent unwanted movement - its not like they had sports-bras in the Viktorian era.
  7. It's not like the range only has cheesecake models. Sybelle and Zoraida are not the most attractive of models. And while the Rotten Belles still have most of their bits in the right places the spirits with Kirai have quite a bit of shrivelled sagginess going on.
  8. Well, the Dreamer seems to really like Teddy since it becomes a Nightmare when included in his crew and he lifts the Rare-1 limitation. I doubt that he would be allowed to take more Teddys than any other master if they were not good to use with him.
  9. Does he still have the dumb luck rule? Just curious since he has those :rams in his cb.
  10. I think I'd just spend it on beer...
  11. I want to see pictures of boxes rolling out the doors... :aetsch:
  12. There should be a rule on Ophelia's card that explains that if she is in a crew it lifts the special forces restriction for Lacroix models. If it is not on her card then it may be located in the main rulebook under the rules for Henchmen (pretty sure it is on her card though). It is not her cost, but is included in her profile as the "reserve XX" entry. You can also find it on the part of the card next to her picture. Normally a master will have a "cache", which is the amount of extra soul-stones (up to the max for the game size) that the caster gets when the game starts. Henchmen do not have this. They get an extra number of points to hire out crews. They can choose not to spend these points and in effect use them like a cache but they have the extra option of hiring more models. In addition, that reserve number also indicates the max number of soulstones that the henchman can have in total. Ophelia has a reserve value of 6.
  13. I have a full army of Trollkin, Mercenaries (all of them), and Minions (all of them too), and I have got so sick of Warmachine/Hordes that I have no desire to work on any models or drag them out to play a game. While I like the core mechanics of the game (with some exceptions - I prefer alternate activation and I think most models dish out too much damage overall) I really detest the win conditions for the Privateer Press games. Honestly, pretty much every single game devolves into an assassination game. It is just so annoying anymore since there is not really much diversity in the game. It also makes a number of casters problematic since many are designed to work close range but in general are not too hard to kill. Even the scenarios they made don't generally help since so many of them are basically unwinnable against a decent opponent other than through assassination. And most of them are simply of the "put a bunch of models in X area and don't die" variety. They tend to mainly funnel the armies together and facilitate quicker assassinations. I would like something more dynamic and interesting to fight for. So far, thats my favorite part of Malifaux - the objective oriented nature of the game. While a lot of combat happens, the game does not simply boil down to killing the other guys toys. And it is nice that the death of a master does not immediately end the game.
  14. This issue does not bother me in the slightest cuz I like boobs.
  15. Seriously... why do Kiss when you could do Alice Cooper or David Bowie? Don't tell me that a Ziggy Stardust model would not be awesome.
  16. You seem a bit heavily focused on combat - which might be the issue you have been having playing Seamus. Spending an AP to summon is not at all a waste. Seamus in general is best when being a giant damage sponge and scaring the bejeesus out of the enemy. Sure, he can kill stuff, and he is better at it than the rest of his crew, but his crew is built around control and durability much more than damage dealing - and that includes the Hatter himself. Try teaming him up with some Hanged and possibly Jack Daw to start terrifying the enemy. Also, try using the Belles Lure ability in ways other than simply to drag an enemy in for you to kill. Use them to mess with the enemy and muck up their objectives, or to move your own models around the board quicker, etc.
  17. All "super glue" is a cyanoacrylate glue. It is the active ingredient in the glue. Gorilla Glue is not so much a type of glue as it is a brand of glues (same as Loctite, Krazy glue, etc). They make lots of different types, including a super-glue (blue top).
  18. Have you thought at all about fitting Kirai's avatar into the group somehow? Or else how to tie it in with the rest of the crew?
  19. So far I think the Desolation Engine is the best idea. Although I also think it would be cool if there was another set of Gremlins trying to imitate another crew - like the LaCroix. Maybe Gremlins in drag pretending to be Showgirls, or a gremlin group of Viktorias...
  20. Honestly, it seems to me that it is just the nature of games such as this. When you have a game where various "armies/crews/forces/decks/whatever" have wildly different playstyles based on very different mechanics you are inevitably going to run into issues where some forces will struggle to defeat certain others. The only way you can really get around this is to either severely limit the players ability to build their forces (move towards pre-built forces) or make units much more generic and similar to one another - which ends up with each army being very similar. Personally, I enjoy that Malifaux has such wildly different mechanics and playstyles within the various crews. It means some games will be a lot tougher than others, but it means you have more opportunity to change up your playstyle.
  21. Skirts are completely overrated...
  22. I thought Hulk Hogan was the wellspring from which all awesome originated? I mean, he did body-slam Andre the Giant after all.... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_m1qTfJsFI[/ame]
  23. Many Bothans died to bring us this information...
  24. I think the arms are simply separate and can be glued on in various positions.
