  1. I'm thinking based on other box's that it might be Molly, Phillip & Nanny, Necrotic Machine, 3 Crollagans and 2 Rotten Belle's
  2. Certainly I think you can be competitive in theme, my McMorning crew doesn't leave home without Sebastian, a nurse and a few dogs. Yan Lo as stated above works really well with Retainers and Ancestors only lists.
  3. Hi all, thanks for a great year of Malifaux and to Mike for organising the masters. As I've mentioned to a few in the community I'm very happy to say that new Foolagain is due at the end of January. So while there is a high chance that I would be able to attend the weekend the chance that I might not be able to make it and leave an empty spot would be disappointing so I'm going to have to decline the invitation. I know that filling in a drop out would be hard with short notice and it would be a big shame to mess up an awesome format. However as it would be my last chance to get some games of Faux in for a while would people be okay if I attended one of the side events? It would be great to get in a few games on what looks to be a light year for me in terms of torni games.
  4. Very cool, will be trying to get a pass for this one.
  5. Yan Lo can be one of the trickiest masters to work with, after playing him for a while now I still end up scratching my head and trying to work out why I would use him over other masters. Daemonkin's suggestion to start small with 25 stones henchmen game is a great one. Run Turf Way and maybe one scheme. The maybe introduce something slowly (Izamu is a good next option). A lot of Yan Lo's strength can be his crew synergy and models which can be frustrating at the moment getting hold of the Konamu and Onryo is a little challenging (unless you have them already).
  6. Do you not think you might have missed someone from that Ben "Panzer" Harris?
  7. I've had the Jaipur Spice on Haxby Road recommended as a good curry house should we want...
  8. Cool, I should be arriving around 4pm if traffic is good, will chuck King of Tokyo or something in the car and then happy to meet up (provided all is well at home as the wife had a bad fall last night).
  9. Lol! Thats some smack talk. Actually that was aimed at young PSIENTOLOGIST, after letting Mr Crowe smash him at Octoberfaux Graham's easy. Just put McM on the table and watch him start to shake.
  10. Though choosing yourself is a little cheeky that is a good shout for Pool C, great results lately. Even if you do role over for your club mates ;-)
  11. Okay will cash you for this later but I will take - Pool A - Ben ‘Late Surge’ Crowe (he's got the taste for victory now) Pool B - Scott Porter (ready to come out swinging) Pool C - Adam Hutchinson (no list is complete without a squig) Pool D - Bob McCallum (luck of the Irish) Pool E - James Winton (he's up and coming) What happens if you have a drop out on your list?
  12. For a long time I've thought that the lyrics for Monster by Paramore could work for what little we know about Jack Daw. http://www.metrolyrics.com/monster-lyrics-paramore.html
  13. What a show of you just saying Greg, Greg, Greg or my suggestion ;-)
  14. My understanding from the 1.5 fluff was that it was somewhere in the North American midewest (the main breach). But I've not fully read TTB or crossroads so this might have changed.
  15. So are we going to get a Malifools episode with predictions of 1st round and "ones to watch" a little like the grand national?
  16. Oshova and I should be around Friday night as well - Zombiecide?
  17. That's a great point, however I think that each master in the Resers can have a strong synergy with his crew. Seamus can have some amazing synergy with his crew if you take models that go after WP or do more horror. While he doesn't provide the raw buff that Nicodem his sinsiter rep will give a big bonus to your models who are targeting Wp or have horror duels. I guess it feels like it comes down to play style, but thank you for your feedback
  18. Purchased the ticket as well just to make it easier to prepare tables on the day. See you lovely bunch of people on Sunday.
  19. Hi all, one of my friends an experienced Malifaux player was asking me a little about the Reser masters as he was looking to start in the faction. I recommended that he picked one master to start with and he asked for a little guidance about what they all did. Without wanting to into the masters trait by trait I drew up a quick guide based on my experience of them (in the case of Kirai, Molly and Tara a little Theoryfaux). I would be keen to just get your feedback on how this stacks up for your experience of each master. I've done it based on the master only not the crew that goes with the master. Guide to the break down of traits is as follows - Summoning - the ease of which to summon and the range of models which the master has access to. Killing - What it says on the tin - how killy can this master can be Speed - How fast they get about the board, again without the aid of any other models Scheme Interactions - How many AP they have to interact with schemes or any other tricks that they can use. Buffing - how they can improve models in your crew Debuffing - how they can reduce the effectiveness of models in your opponents crews Survival / Tarpit - what is the staying power of the model to take a punch and tie up the enemy crew without killing them Nicodem Summoning - A Killing - C Speed - C Scheme Interactions - C Buffing - A Debuffing - B Survival / Tarpit - C Seamus Summoning - B Killing - B Speed - A Scheme Interactions - C Buffing - C Debuffing - A Survival / Tarpit - A McMorning Summoning - B Killing - A Speed - A Scheme Interactions - B Buffing - C Debuffing - C Survival / Tarpit - B Tara Summoning - C Killing - C Speed - A Scheme Interactions - A Buffing - B+ Debuffing - B Survival / Tarpit - B Molly Summoning - B+ Killing - B Speed - C Scheme Interactions - C Buffing - B Debuffing - A Survival / Tarpit - A Kirai Summoning - A Killing - C+ Speed - B Scheme Interactions - C Buffing - B Debuffing - C Survival / Tarpit - C+ Yan Lo Summoning - C Killing - C+ Speed - B Scheme Interactions - C Buffing - B Debuffing - B Survival / Tarpit - A / C (depending on upgrades)
  20. I can't see it on TTN booking site, little worried if everyone descends we might be a little short of tables. Has anyone been able to book yet?
  21. If you had the time, that would be great.
  22. That sounds great Aaron, was there any adventures created for Gen Con this year that could be shared?
  23. Looks like Element games have it in stock now, have ordered it!
  24. I actually don't think Seamus is that good a master for new players, he needs a lot of precision and his crew can be very control heavy which if you are coming new to Malifaux even with war games experience can be very confusing (why do I want the enemy closer to me? Surely all I want to do is kill them!). If they did design a box I would go for two crews (Lady J and another master maybe Tina) and then write a series of intro scenarios to introduce the basics. Start with moment and interactions with minions, basic duels and then introduce henchmen, masters and finally upgrades. Again phase in some things like interactions and conditions as the game goes. I would also include 2 fate decks, 1 mini rule books and maybe some basic counters (done as a card sheet to keep the cost down). The idea would be some form of terrain as its so important to Malifaux.
