  1. Can really see how you have improved as the crews progress, good work! How did you get the colour for the constructs? Does anyone else think Hoffman looks a little like Richard O'Brian from the Crystal Maze?
  2. Love the models so far, the pink on the girl really makes her pop and compliments the others. If this is just "gaming" standard I'd love to see what you do for more high standard, would be stunning.
  3. I haven't got any individual pics at the moment, but the original size is pretty large. I'll see what happens if I insert it...... Yeah ok the preview on that wasn't pretty. I'll link to it instead! http://data7.blog.de/media/938/5826938_095bfe9a56_o.jpeg
  4. Not really suitable for Malifaux, and lets face it that is nowhere near enough for a 6x4 40k table. If you have the space for actual terrain check out the thread at http://wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21162 for some cool western buildings. I 'm still excited for terraclips and can't wait for them to finally arrived. They suit my purposes fine, I don't have time to paint terrain too.
  5. Thanks everyone, wasn't sure how the hat removal would go down. One thing I would say is it feels like the mannequin is missing something maybe. I've thought about redoing the belt area purple. Thoughts?
  6. Hi Folks, Been a little bit quiet posting my painting but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy. I've been working on the Ortegas who will get their own thread when they are done, but also the Showgirls for Mrs Jeffb007. So here is the story so far. The idea is that the other showgirl and mannequin will have purple dressers to tie the crew in with Collette and Cassandra. And yes, I did remove Collette's hat and put a rabbit in it. This was a special request. Well the hatectomy was anyway, the rabbit was a bonus. Larger image here
  7. The poor customer service seems to be pretty standard across all the webstores I've tried. They just seem to have no idea, and I don't really see how hard it can be to just tell your customer the truth. I'd be much happier with a delayed order if the site would just say "Sorry, we haven't got it at the moment and we are waiting on the distributor, who estimate it in x days, we will keep you informed". The problem is they also make it a total pain to get a refund when they won't be getting something. Also real time stock levels not allowing you to buy something out of stock would be grand!
  8. 2/2 for my boxes, everything else I've done custom crews. One I donated to a friend with a resser crew, the other one I intend to convert into a Daisy Duke esque death marshal.
  9. I got the same message about two weeks. I've got a buildings set and clips ordered from arcane miniatures so hopefully that will come soon!
  10. I've chased them again today, no response at the moment. I'd imagine mine is in the second lot at least. I would have ordered ages ago, but I think it is wrong that they take the moment at the time of pre-ordering as it means I'm paying for something I'm not going to get for ages.
  11. Looking nice, especially for your first go. If you like the shine maybe take the photos before you gloss them. It makes it hard to see highlights, but I would also suggest going a bit brighter. I love the work you've done on the faces.
  12. I've got to say it looks great. I admire your patience putting all that together. Personally I'm waiting for my terraclips, I think I would have gone mad!
  13. I've not got mine yet, but the tutorial videos I think will help you out, they are at http://www.worldworksgames.com/store/index.php?view=pages&pgid=9 but what I will say is you will get tall model syndrome with any type of terrain. I always have the same problem in 40k with banner poles on marines, and Snow Storm doesn't fit in buildings in my home made cardboard shanty town!
  14. This is what gets me too I just want them to be honest about what is going on!
  15. Hmm listed as out of stock on Firestorms site at the moment
  16. Nothing from Maelstrom for me as well
  17. Nice little review there, and your structures look good, I've seen some poorly put together buildings people have made. Can't wait to get my streets as a start, come on Maelstrom!
  18. Cool if it is true. Although I won't see it until next week. Was really hoping to get them for a game this weekend.
  19. Anyone had any updates today?
  20. Hopefully they aren't just telling us what we want to hear. I'd rather know if they weren't expecting them for 3 weeks so I don't look at my email like a kid waiting for Christmas every 5 minutes....
  21. Hi Folks, I was just wondering if anyone who has ordered Terraclips through a UK stockist has had them shipped yet? I've not heard anything from Maelstrom, although when I contacted them they were expecting them this week, so fingers crossed!
  22. Thanks for the feedback folks, agree about the door on the coffin, I just wasn't really sure where to go with it. Next time I try it on something I will try and smooth it out a bit more, perhaps by mixing colours. I finished Perdita over the weekend, so will try and update this with her soon.
  23. Love the models, great work. I would definitely get an Austringer, they do a great job at taking things out long range without requiring LoS, and deliver orders is very handy too.
  24. Hi folks, I've got a couple more of my Guild models finished now that I've painted Rasputina's crew. In fact I've actually finished my Death Marshalls box set (hooray!) before starting work on the Ortegas First up is my final Death Marshall. He's my first attempt at some rough OSL. It isn't great but I think it gets the feel across. Then the next one is my Scales of Justice: As usual feedback and constructive criticism is welcomed!
  25. My basic setup is the same as Mydnight but I don't have a daylight lamp so tend to use actual daylight. I'd probably use a manual setting with f22 and then play with shutter speeds to get the brightness you want. Mine is usually towards the +1 mark to be honest, but I think that is because the white background messes with the levels a bit.
