  1. They look great well done, all your hard work has certainly paid off. I'm definitely interested in a couple of decks and If financing an order is an issue I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't object to some kind of deposit.
  2. I had previously used mainly GW paints with a few others, mainly the original line which I think is now Cote d'arms. I took a break from the hobby a few years back not that long after they switched to the screw top pots which I hated. When I came back I switched to Vallejo paints and I've been quite satisfied with them. Some of their browns coverage leaves a little to be desired but that's my only complaint. Dropper bottles are brilliant and the quantity for the price is great. I swear I used to average about 5 mls out of those screw top bottles before they dried up or became irrevocably stuck closed. I can't comment on the latest version of their bottles since I've not used any of them, I think they may have changed the formulation too while I was away. I use predominantly their Game Colour range since I am looking for a slightly brighter feel in most of my minis these days. If I wanted duller more realistic tones I wouuld go for the Model Colour range. All that being said I would echo other peoples comments that you should use the paints from each range that are best for your purpose, there's little reason to use only one and using the best of each range is often the best way to go.
  3. I'm tempted to try and take the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (the comic, never the movie) inspiration one step further and see if I can sculpt a full, undamaged tail coat, trousers and cane on this guy. That would look pretty cool in my opinion. Not sure if my sculpting skills are there though.
  4. Well based on the fluff description the Pale rider fits with Death. Everything in there is about how he is drawn to people dying. Hooded's description fits with War. Unrestrained slaughter etc. I think the Dead Rider's fluff could fit with famine at a bit of a stretch. He spends all his time raiding caravans, stealing stuff and thus creating a shortage. Seems a bit more supported tham the others. Leaving Mechanical for conquest. Again not hugely supported in the fluff but it does seem to be the only one actively supporting its factions interests.
  5. Nicely done, it's great to see the set all together and it is looking pretty damn good. I really want a set of these for myself. Here's hoping the test run works out well.
  6. Really nice work on the first black back. Goes really well with the fronts and looks brilliant.
  7. Pity you can't get the dead hookers line in. That's the one that grabbed me. Of course that could just be my twisted sense of humour. I saw zombie hookers and killer teddies and I was in.
  8. Am I the only one getting a time-travel vibe from the fluff? I'm starting to wonder if we have a case of either circular time or that the breach is a time portal and Malifaux is in fact a future Earth. It could go some way to explaining the hybrid neverborn/human corpses and Ramos' 'signature' appearing on ancient machinery. The hybrid is a transitional form of humanity on the way to evolving in to the neverborn due to the influence of magic and the 'signature' is either an example of Ramos' work that survived or his students. It very neatly explains the appearance of the Neverborn and their links to Earth mythology. It might also explain Sonja's reaction to the info on Cherufe she found but I think that is probably just the Tyrant's influence. I also like the possibility it raises that the Tyrants are not only connected to the known characters but are in fact them once their power evolves.
  9. Thanks for the building tutorial, now where did I put that damn Mordheim box? I'm tempted to try a really modular version of what you are doing on 6" x 6" tiles with fully molded streets including gutters and pavements.
  10. I was actually thinking they'd make pretty cool nightmarish daydreams rather than alps. I love the regular daydreams and alps though so not for me. For more than three alps I have a few conversion ideas but down that road lies the alp bomb and I don't wanna be that guy.
  11. Yeah I'm hoping to hit up someone for a game in the next couple of weeks. Things should be quieter by then.
  12. I prefer Super Sculpey to Fimo myself, much easier to work with and takes fantastic detail. Of course the last time I used Fimo was about 15 years ago so maybe it's better now.
  13. Well let's see, in order of purchase: Viks Showgirls Pandora Dreamer Rasputina Perdita Nightmare Justice Seamus And I still haven't played a game... Once my life quiets down I'll hit up one of the local henchmen for an intro, in theory, but hey it was the models got me into this minicrack in the first place so I'm happy.
  14. Plus there was the talk of the scholars who witnessed Lucius' transformation so I guess the answer is both.
  15. Wow, amazing work. On the cobweb question. You might be able to do something with really small pieces of fake cobwebs you get from halloween stores. They should have bags of it for a few dollars. It's a kind of stretchy, slightly clingy cotton wool, should work better than actual cotton wool, never seen it used at this scale though so I don't know how well it will work.
