  1. Thanks, guys. Yeah, the shrink wrap on mine looks like it just didn't quite make it over the end of the box. I'll get it touch with customer service to get the card. Much obliged for the quick answers!
  2. Hey gang, quick question for those of you who also received Miss Terious When I opened the package, the Miss Terious box was open, and the piece had fallen out, so it was loose in the shipping box. The only thing that was in there was the plastic cage-type thing. (I'm not sure what it's called...the rectangular pieces with all of the little pieces to pop off and assemble the model.) So my question is fairly straight-forward: Is that all that should've been in the box? It looks like all the pieces are there, but it's hard to tell on a first glance. Figured I'd ask you lovely folks before reaching out to customer service over a potential non-issue. Thanks!
  3. *waves* Greetings from the other side of Brooklyn! I rarely make it into Park Slope from Williamsburg, but it's good to know there's a thriving Malifaux community over there, in case the boyfriend and I ever migrate, or want to make a day of it. A new game shop just opened up in the hood over here (http://twentysidedstore.com/) so I'm hoping to get in there with some crews and some friends, get some games going over here. It would be nice not to have to go to Manhattan to seek out some games. Anyway, hope you're enjoying the game so far, and the community here is usually pretty great about answering questions or queries. Have fun!
  4. *happy dance* I've been maybe a little obsessively checking the boards, waiting for news
  5. That is indeed the one I meant Seems to me like she fits the description...and I think you could sort of squeeze the "giant hammer" part into epic-ness.
  6. Eric, I'm enjoying hunting. Part of what I enjoy about the game...there's a very smart history to the characters. That said...is Taelor's name based off the urban dictionary definition?
  7. Damned English majors, we'll ruin everything
  8. I'm interested...Eric mentioned that Colette would be a tricky one to figure out...but to me, she seems to be pretty closely tied to the French writer Colette, who was a pretty forward-thinking woman and also, if I'm remembering right, had some kind of dance hall/theatre type ties.
  9. I'm enjoying seeing these pop up all over the boards
  10. The Death Marshals are sweethearts; so fun to play, and damn useful in range and melee fights. I have a super lady crush on Lady J (who is my first master) and even though she's a little...less than amazing at range, she's a murder machine once she gets into somebody's face. CB 11? Yes, please! She's also a blast to paint. Mine has crazy hair and cute boots. I also tend to view The Guild as "the good guys" because they're the law that's moved in, but I definitely respect the Neverborn claim to the land. As for the rundown you've asked for, I usually play a pretty small crew consisting of: Lady J Judge Death Marshall x3 Scales of Justice And even though if you're playing against a ranged crew (I play against 'Tina all the time), you can survive long enough to get in their faces and destroy them. Being able to Pine Box your own guys/gals is a fun trick, and means you can usually get into melee range without taking damage before your DM takes a dive. This would obviously work with Lucius too, if you had the desire to get him into face-smashing range. They do the amped up damage at range too, so they're always fun to have in the bag. If you don't like the Lady, then you don't, and I definitely agree that she's not for everyone, but I'm definitely a charge and demolish kind of player. She's fun, severe, and exciting, once you get her into melee range. She's vulnerable and not overly interesting at range, but as long as you keep her SS pool stocked, you'll stay alive long enough to decimate your opponent. She's so fun once she gets into sword range (I really do love her). The Judge is basically like having a second master on the board...he's tough to kill, and he dishes the pain. Just my opinion though; if you tend to be a ranged played, Lady J and friends aren't for you. If you're interested in the guild, though, take a look at Perdita and her family or Sonia, Sam, and the Witchling Stalkers. Both can tear it up at ranged. Welcome aboard to Malifaux, though, whatever you decide!
  11. Veskit's Ressers. Love the colors and highlighting. Stark's Guild is a close (likethisclose) second.
  12. Gah...So'mer is so creepy. But he was the first master I gamed with, so I have a little soft spot for him. Love the skin color you used. I've got an Ophelia crew coming my way, and I like this almost...jungle green, instead of the frog green you see on a lot of the models.
  13. Stern, this is one of the coolest tattoos I've seen in a long time. Good on you, and definitely keep posting as it comes along!
  14. Eee! He's so adorable. I second the call for plushies. I wanna take creepy little stuffed puppets to bed with me.
  15. Yeah, the guys I play against are pretty new to the game, and none of them plays The Guild, so I can see how using Pine Box on one of my own guys would give them a moment of pause. An interesting mental tactic, at the very least. It does slow movement, it looks like, but I'm liking the idea of either having the Lady or the Judge fresh and ready to mess my opponent up by the time I'm in melee range with the Marshal.
  16. Sounds like your game went very well. I'm always interested to read strategies against Arcanists, since that's who I'm usually playing against. Also, to speak to your first post...since picking up Malifaux, I haven't logged on to WoW. This has been the first game to bodily grab my attention away, so good luck on getting your friends away from the computer screen and into the game room
  17. I'll chime in with an agreement on Lovecraft. I actually just started reading through the short stories last year, on a trip to Dallas for a job interview. Bad idea. I was too freaked out to sleep once I got to my hotel, so wound up going to the interview after spending the night with the lights on, convinced that I heard things in the walls. Hands down, the spookiest stuff I've ever read. But in a good way.
  18. An excellent read, and an interesting set up. I'll definitely be checking out the terrain link you posted.
  19. Nothing to add or ask, just wanted to say that these models are adorable, and I'm looking forward to using them, not only in Puppet Wars, but also in Malifaux. In my head, I keep the Lady J that I have and replace everyone else, leaving her to lead an army of puppets into battle!
  20. Thanks, Ratty. Love the crew creator...I can see myself wasting hours of work time on that!
  21. @Doctor...Sir, you are going to wind up costing me too much money, what with your suggestions and ideas @Nix I had never even thought of that. I guess now that I look over the card, Pine Box isn't really a damaging spell at all, and there's no way I could accidentally mess something up and kill the Lady I'll definitely be trying that out the next time I play.
