  1. Immune to influence makes Perdita Immune to anything which requires her to use Wp as a defender. If the effect that she is interacting with does not make her the defender then she is not immune to it. For example she would be immune to Zoraida's Obey ability, but not to the terror generated by Seamus. As to how hard she is... Perdita is one of those models that I've found it better to just ignore and try to distract rather then outright trying to kill her. Often it is just not worth the amount of time and resources you pour in to taking her down.
  2. Generally if there are boxing issues you take a photo of the item(s) in question that are damaged or incorrect and you then contact Zee.
  3. Trust me I hope Molly is coming to Gen Con. My heart and mood just seemed to sink to the floor when Eric said it was just a maybe that Molly would be there. I wanted Molly when I found the game back in January, I can't Imagine what I'd have been feeling if I'd been waiting since last summer like some people have been. Wyrd should just send me a copy of her for services rendered. I'm designing the lighting for the summer season at a theatre in Michigan, and as relaxation I brought my crews with me to paint two recent additions to my collection. I ran a demo with my two crews for one of the shop carpenters and the game caught on like wildfire among the tech staff. Five people all went out and ordered full 35 Soulstone crews and we now have a summer league going. See Wyrd! I'm working for you! :peace:
  4. Here are my predictions: I'm betting the nightmare single sculpt is Teddy. I don't know a model in the line that I've heard talked of with such fondness as I have heard in my local area or Online as Teddy is. Eric did say it was an already available model that everyone currently loves. I'll wager the new version of Miss Pack is a Rotten Belle, I could be wrong but in the threads I've read more people seem to ask for an alternate Belle Sculpt than anything else (although it could be just that I read many more Resser threads) The Alternate sculpt box....hmmm. I don't know who they are but I have a supposition that as it is a five pack, and there are five factions in the game that it will be a model from each. My guess is that it will either be a Master from each faction, or perhaps 5 of the henchmen. Which outcast henchmen would make it in I'm not sure, but I'd guess Von Shill. Oh and Nix to clarify my point about Avatars. I know Eric said that they will be not be the automatic choice in every situation. I'm just concerned that in a game vs two people if one has their Avatar and the other doesn't it gives more options to the player who does. Since it seems that the option to go avatar is inherent in all Masters it would be like playing with some of your rules missing. If you have to pay for the ability to choose to go avatar at the beginning of the game I could see it. Whatever it is I'm sure it will work out. I'm still very excited and want to thank you for putting together such a great podcast, been listening to you regularly since January.
  5. Looking good! We need to do a brawl when I get get home. You and me Vs 2 neverborns. Ressers all the way!
  6. Lord Shaper Has Coppelious, someone else has Taelor, I forget who though
  7. Very sad that Molly is only a possibility for Gen Con rather than a certainty. Very excited about the Avatars. I'm only worried that a game vs. an opponent where one person has access to their avatar and the other doesn't will feel slightly like playing with a handicap. I know Eric said they are just options, and that it's hopefully not going to descend into a game of "Race for the Avatar", I'm still slightly concerned. All in all a fantastic interview, and I'm very excited for this Gen Con.
  8. Bigmike, I'd say your definition of OP actually describes broken. To paraphrase a quote from Scott Lynch, "OP and broken are close cousins and often mistaken for each other." I can only comment on what I perceive as a less then stellar choice in the utilization of a great deal of passive control in the rules governing Hamelin. I honestly think overall he is currently bad for the game in his current form and that the suggested fixes by Sandwhich, Magicpockets, and Necromorph would go a great deal to fixing him. Namely that Bully becomes a static target number, and that the Lure Malifaux citizen become a spell. Hamelin would still be VERY powerful, but would be a much more enjoyable, though still very hard, master to play against.
  9. Ahhh welcome to Malifaux, the game with undead hookers. Very excited to see you here, I've found several of your posts on the Daemonic Legion forum to be very helpful.
  10. Really? I know Kirai is a strong Master, but I haven't had the experience that she is anywhere near as abusive as models like the Neverborn Masters Pandora and the Dreamer. I've looked through threads and haven't seen a general outcry about her. Is a Resser Master actually regarded as a model in need of serious fixing? Her cutting mechanic always makes me sweat trying to manage the amount of summoning of Ikiryo I do. I know that combined with Jack Daw she is very abusive, but I think that's more of an issue with Jack's Mechanics than hers. I'm genuinely interested as I love to study mechanics of rules systems and I'm curious as to whether my impressions are skewed by having her as one of my primary masters.
  11. I have five, as I converted the current Hollow Waifs clamshell into two more Belles. I utilize a good number of Belles when I play Seamus and don't really hire other minions very much, and I've never felt under supplied with 5. 5 would be an acceptable # I think.
  12. I got her started, and then I jumped over to the nurse who is half done, and then I got involved in designing my show, and we just hit tech week so it might be a little bit before I get back to her. I might need to borrow some of your seishin when I get home. I just realized that in a Brawl Kirai can have 10! :vb_devil:
  13. Actually five of the tech staff are all buying crews this friday, so I'm starting a summer league! =D
  14. Basically you need to do something memorably amusing for Eric to reward you with an avatar. If you are interested I have a suggestion... Here use these: *Takes out a monkey suit, a mime's hat, a turkey baster, and a 25 galleon drum of strawberry ice cream* If you use your imagination I'm sure you can do something that would warrant an avatar.
  15. Hello there Mydnight. As always I think they look great. So, You'll be amused to hear I've converted most of the shop crew here to playing Malifaux. I'm very much looking forward to coming home now as I won't be out of practice for our next engagement.
  16. Ahhh, but how well does Hoffman's resilience stand up to an Ikiryo and Shikome?
  17. But balance is very difficult in a game where multiple options are available to every player. If we are talking every crew needs to be balanced against every crew I don't know how likely that is to happen. Malifaux as a whole is very well balanced because of how the VP system works. You declare your faction, find out what you are doing, then hire your crew. Crews which don't allow interaction, or will pretty much always win, unless their controller makes a mistake, against other crews is where my personal attention lies. For example The Dreamer comes very close to this mark. In many games, but not all, you are hoping the Dreamer makes a mistake that you can capitalize on. If he doesn't you often don't win. The Dreamer is strong, but not broken. He is difficult to master, and positioning and timing are critical to using him. He however allows interaction, (except in some cases the Alp bomb) and thus though strong he is not broken or that unfun (subjective) to play against. This prevention of interaction is why I think the Alp Bomb is so hated. The fact that when you play it feels like you're caught in a net and can't do anything is exceptionally frustrating. And I think this is the crux of why some people think Hamelin is too strong. When an opponent plays against him they often feel like nothing they do in the game matters. They can't whittle down his crew, kill a rat within 6" of a Rat Catcher and new rat pops up with an activation to spend. Kill a Rat Catcher, 3 rats pop themselves and look a brand new catcher. Kill Hamelin's Stolen, oh look he just summoned 3 more. Kill Hamelin, oh look he just came back to life. Add on top of this that when Hamelin begins to work well his crew not only renders the actions your models can take somewhat irrelevant, he can take away their very ability to even take the actions. I don't really care what power level Hamelin ends up at. I personally don't care if he is the strongest Master in the game. In any complex game like Malifaux there is going to be a difference in power level between certain options, the time to act on it is when the Master either breaks the game (I.E. infinite loops for example) or when leaving them unchanged is bad for the game as a whole. The latter is where Hamelin currently stands in my opinion. I do think that the discussion here though has been very helpful for me as a person thinking about rules systems. And I have appreciated Magicpockets, and the other players who actually play Hamelin's opinions.
  18. Since you have Collodi and Zorida,...can't you take both if you wanted to?
  19. After re-checking the wording of Shafted, I think you may be right. I was under the impression that if you ended your activation in range of a shafted marker it caused damage. The move strike portion of the charge action I don't feel qualified to comment on.
  20. Karn,... could you look through your stuff? After last night I'm missing one of my fans, and an eye.
  21. Or..., Taelor & Misaki could actually BE the new belle! We have two versions of Hamelin at the moment. There is a precedent!
  22. I *think* it's the latter example you gave. Model A's final action kills Crooked Man. Crooked Man has slow to Die, so Pause Activation before it officially ends. Crooked Man drops a Shafted token. Finish Model A's Activation. Model A ends its activation on top of a Shafted token. Model A takes damage.
  23. Sorry, I try to wash... I'll do better next time.
