Hi I've got some spare time out of the blue and I don't want to waste it. Before i cut up the 30mm bases I put on my Dust storm and Core, what are their proper base sizes, I don't trust the twisting fates entry because its screwy? Are they both supposed to be on 40mm bases? Cheers.

Ok, I've read p28 in the rules manual and had a scout around the FAQ and Resolved issues. I'm sure this has been asked before, but here goes anyway. Say I'm defending and I lose a duel, but there is only a little damage with no trigger so I'm not inclined to cheat a high card for it. I decline to cheat and take 1dg. My opponent now cheats with a card that does have the right suit to activate a trigger and says "Ha! you can't cheat to defend now because you had your chance." Is this right, because that's what happened and Pandora caused my Nicodem to fall back? We then both SS'd it and both flipped average, I could have defended with my hand had I of had the chance to cheat fate once the stakes had changed. I'd just been playing that the loser of the duel gets the chance to cheat, then the winner, then the loser again if they chose not to cheat initially so that they can react to the trigger, positive twist for damage, etc. When both are satisfied with the cheating of fate we then each decide if we want to soul stone it, assuming the model has the use soulstone ability. So the Nurse was finally good, but now she is back to being a nice idea, but totally useless. Nice one wyrd. Were Ressers were OP? Forgetting the Nurse, what about the necrotic machine with Nicodem with a view to buffing and healing undead Mortimer and mercenaries. A worthwhile stratagy? I like Mortimer, but just feel that for 7ss he could be a little more killy and resiliant. is the 3ss Necromech worth it iyo?

Hi, I've been thinking that the Necrotic machine's ability to make living models into undead would work really well with Nicodem. It would mean that Mortimer and the Nurse could benefit from Bolster Undead and be healed from Decay. It also means that you could do the Nurse 3xinjections buff to McTavish or Sue who then Shrug Off the effect before they are sacrificed and would benefit from Bolster Undead for +6cb, +2df, +2wk/cg, Reactivate and whatever else she does. If any survivors then give him a doing over, Nico can just heal them with Decay whilst damaging the survivor as a bonus. Once it has undeadified all your living models, just kill it for the corpse counter. Has anyone tried undead Mortimer/Nurse/mercenaries? Cheers.

Also, cast Decay at your own models w are in combat with your opponent's. you can choose to lose a wp duel by 1(i think its 1) regardless of the flip so then cheat it for a moderate/severe to get a blast to cover their model as well. It heals your model and hurts theirs and there is nothing they can do about it. Not sure how your own models being Hard to Wound affects this, perhaps someone else could chip in.

Nicodem is great, but you can't play him with the starter box alone. For Nicodem you must keep some Mindless zombies around him at ALL times. I was using them/corps counters for summoning asap and Nicodem always died. Passing damage off to the MZs from Nicodem only to re-arise them is what keeps him alive. You can also trade in MZs for summoning like corpse counters I recommend buying a bag of 10 30mm round lipped bases from almost any games website and a box of Mantic Zombies (30 zombz). That way you don't need to have duplicate models and you will have plenty Zombies if you ever go Avatar Nicodem. I'm gonna convert me a ANico using the alt sculpt model and Mantic Zombies. Keeping purchasing to a minimum, you will need a Flesh Construct model. He's probably the most usual thing to summon. don't forget his free attack at the end of the round. Summoning a Rogue Necromancy is awesome btw, but not as easy as requires 4 counters. Next I'd look at Bells (2 is plenty) and a Grave Spirit. Don't bother with vultures imo. Then Dead Rider or Bete Noir. You may want to look at some Drowned or Crooked Men (Bolster undead makes them better) I've not mentioned objective grabbers, which is either Dead Rider, Night Terrors (don't leave corpse counters) or Necropunks. I don't own the last two, I've don't use Nico for fast strategies that the Dead Rider can't handle. Note that the more times you cast Riggamortis and Decay, the more likely you are to win. Only summon more models if you aren't busy. Its too easy to get all summony and just lose. He is a caster first, summoner second. Those Corpse counters are better off protecting you as MZs until you really need them. or you are summoning for a scheme. As for Pandora I gave up on her box set. My opponents are blast heavy and the sorrows make you lose unless you are VeRy good. Also Candy and Kade are just not that good for the SS. Cool models though. Don't get too excited about Kade+Teddy switching shenanigans, to many actions for not enough death for the SS. Everyone loves teddy though and he isn't all that bad. Lelu, Lilitu (referred to as the twins) and 2 Stitched Togethers should win you most games , works for me. Pandora is amazing btw. Sorry that my advice for starter boxes is buy more models, but most starter boxes either suck or flat out don't even work as they stand. There is an early Aethervox episode where an expert talks about how to do well with Pandora's starter box. Get into Aethervox its super duper. there is also a Nico episode. Also check the Malifaux Pull My Finger Wiki for advice per model. Goodluck and welcome to Malifaux.

yeah, especially since Levi can't build his deck, it's not really gonna happen that you get it all going off. However Steamborg has this in his favour: he is an absolute tyranosaur. Flurry and mele expert speaks for itself, but paired Cb7 min damage 4 is mad. Paired Cb 7 means you basically can't miss and even if you charge you are still gonna get 2 attacks so you are looking at min damage 8. So that's half of the minions available dead in a turn. sadly that often includes the Steamborg.

i'd like to see Kade and others get love similar to Candy got. Candy the petulant Youth dragging alternare little-bro aroud while the grown ups are out for the evening. Papa loco sending Perdita to her room for time-out and fixing things olde-schoole? Yes please! Mortimer, Sebastian, Alice, etc could be running things Henchman-wise for their tailored masters while they are away on buisness. No need to give Henchman to a powerhouse like Nikima. Lilitu/Mature neph for Lilith? Could be special rules for playing Nikima like she has to wp->14 test not to try and kill them and take over. A Steamborg Exe for Ramos that retains some of its mind? Bad Juju needs developing, but thats because I just like him. or maybe a stiched for Zoraida saing as they are Dolls. OHH or the Spawn mother in some non-crap form! Perhaps every Master doesn't need a henchman, i'm getting carried away. I'm sticking with: Sebastian as his fluff says he is clever in Book 3. Perhaps he upgrades the bone-saw and samples some of McMournings experimental re-animation fluids a'la Mr Hyde. (Or Mortimer but he's probably not ambitious enough) Misaki. It's going that way. I'm sticking with Book one minions here because most of them need a little attention and these make the most sense to me. There are many other choices: Spawn mother (Bk3, but how many people are disappointed thus far? 'Mon the Newts!), Bishop, Myranda seems a little Master specific if its only 1 per faction, but then I'm not in Team Marcus.

He is a super sweet model (got me into Malifaux though I don't own him) and has crazy damage output. For 10ss he is really easy to kill even with steamcloud so play cautious then arachnid him over terrain at the right moment. Steamcloud handy for protecting Waifs? The thing I think of about playing him with Levi is that you can also take Alice, Bete and Jack Daw. All of these models have an auto-kill trigger (discard 2 cards/SS or die) and I think that most of them are on different suits. That could be lots and lots of fun especially as Alice, Bete and steamborg can hit 3 times. oh and I think Bete's trigger goes off automatically if Levi gives her Blessings of Desolation first. No book to hand. Very handy against armour crews as you aren't trying to do damage. Steambourg is a combat beast if he can get there. Also consider (alternative sculpt) Steampunk Arachnid Swarm for auto-paralyze trigger when under Blessings of Desolation plus general cc nastiness.

Very cool, but a little out of my price range. I love the idea of the game though, when do the rules come out? edit: Just read through your site - game sounds flat out awesome. Hi, My GW paints are getting a little old and having to learn a bunch of new names seems like a good enough push to switch companies and try some other paint producers. I have a few Vallejo air for my air brush which is fantastic for vehicles, but I haven't tried their brush paints and i also have a P3 white which I preferred to the GW Skull white. I don't want to spend a fortune, but will stretch for quality if they won't dry up too quick. I hate the GW bottles. Please also recommend brushes if you can. I don't mind the GW brushes, but mine are done. i bought some brandless kolinsky sabel brushes from ebay, the dealer swore they were from the same manufacturer as some quality brand, just without the branding. they are small to very small, seem decent enough, but have a very long center tuft/hair which is kind of annoying as the main bulk of liquid is a bit behind the tip of the brush. Hi, Would this work? I activate Leveticus, do some stuff untill I'm low on wounds and give the SS Miner Blessings of Desolation. I then use the SS Miner to kill Leveticus gaining a Soul-Stone and, if I flip/cheat a crow, summoning a SPA. as Levi is trying to die and only has Df2, it wouldn't take a high crow, but even so I accept that you probably couldn't raise a SPA every time. Gaining a SS when killing a model is an ability of the Miner and so you can still use the Blessings trigger. This could be combined with the Scheme where you try to finish the game with more SS than your opponent and also the one where you try to kill and res Levi a bunch of times. Stratagies may vary. As the Miner is killing Levi the whole time you can keep it out of harms way until you want it to claim an objective, hurt itself for more ss or attack someone else. If you can beat 4 SS out of Levi, then surely its worth the 2ss you effectively payed for it, even if it was busy the first 4 turns - plus a few SPAs? If you don't have the crows and the SS arn't too valuable to you, you could cast Blessings on the big SPA construct thing (doesnt need another crow) or use the A&D who has it baked in with double crow. This would get you more SPAs from Levi who you are going to kill anyway. I also like to save the 2ss on a dog, make a SPA from Levi and kill it for a second Waif turn 2.

Hi, I'v got Pandora, Zoraida and Leveticus (+McM & Nicodem, not relevant here). I'm definately picking up Carrion and Hodgepodge Effigies. So I'l probable pick up Collodi as well. I'm looking at the Weaver Widow, how good is she? I can see that if I'm taking a couple of stiched and an Effigy or two she would be a good buffer in a Pandora or Zoraida crew, she might go well with Corpellius and an Insideous madness for terror tactics, but are you just better hiring Teddy from the off instead? She seems easy to kill so I don't want her near combat. Thoughts please. Here is my main question: Is she any use in a Collodi crew or do his similar skills make her redundant? Cheers.

Hi, I downloaded the Card Creator from Ratty's page and also Gimp. I opened the card template in Gimp and then couldn't get any farther. Can anyone please give me REALLY simple instructions on what to click if I want to 1) change the writing - I can't seem to erase what is already there by highlighting it and clicking the eraser or vice-versa. 2) change the colour scheme from Archanist to Outcast 3) Change the picture. look, it isn't straightforward for everyone!
