  1. Greetings, all! I've decided to abandon the arcanists, as they are rebel scum, and focus my attention on the Guild. Hence, my Collette crew is up for sale/trade- Collette- And her crew- complete with stage bases and magnetized Coryphee. Includes -Painted Collette -Cassandra -2X Showgirls -2X Mannequins -3X Doves (new in box) -2X Magnetized Coryphee, capable of transforming into a duet. Some are primed, some are fresh. All are well cleaned, assembled and pinned. I'm looking for the following- -Ortega Crew -Abuela Ortega -Lucius Crew -Young Nephalim -Any Nightmare stuff, Lord Chompy Bits especially (pipe dream, I know). I will take a combination of cash (via paypal) or trade- I'm looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of $120 total. Thanks!
  2. Don't tempt me.... goddamnit, now I have to do it. Thanks. Also, it appears that the challenge to do steampunk justice to "Tako to ama" has also been raised.... I suppose that if it is on the back wall, I can hide it from my children in the display case...
  3. See the original post- that is the plan. I'm doing the mural on both sides, but I think I might stay away from tentacle porn. Then again, I might not- we'll see. It would be appropriate decor for the Qi and Gong, I suppose.
  4. Haha- thanks. And a wanted poster doesn't sound like a bad idea.
  5. While a scale bonsai tree would be stupid tiny, perhaps something with cherry blossoms would be cool... thanks for getting the creative juices flowing.
  6. Thanks. The three with the walls magnetize together so they will stay flush. The Seisen in the front just kind of sit there.
  7. One issue I'm having is that I am working with partial architecture- the cut away walls, the bridge portion, and the boat hull. That leaves some awkwardness, like so- The back of the Kirai bases is very boring. I am going to do some screen work on it, but any ideas to spice it up are welcome.
  8. ***UPDATE*** 10/30/2011 THIS CREW IS FOR SALE- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180747715220#ht_500wt_1413 ***UPDATE*** I FINALLY FINISHED THE CREW!!! More details posted later in the thread. Otherwise, here is the original WIP post, for progeny's sake- Greetings all! So, I had some crazy-ass ideas on some epic basing for my Kirai crew. I got to work, and though I would make a progress blog out of it, as it is going to take freaking forever. Here is the premise- I wanted a multi-tier mini diorama made up from the bases of Kirai and her most important crew members. I want it to look as if she is in the Qi and Gong, getting ready to unleash some vengeance. In he crawlspace of the Qi and Gong, she has been doing quite a bit of storing, as the Guild trash piles up quickly. Here is what I have so far- The parts of the base are just kind of pinned together at this point, so they will be more flush when everything is painted and glued into place. The fusama screens will have some kind of detailed mural on them, and they will be kind of bloodily melting away on the edges (as kind of depicted in Kirai's fluff, with the nightmare murder rooms). For the rest of the crew, I wanted to go with a kind of Japanese garden theme (Kirai is a gardener after all). I have had all of two ideas so far. Onryo- Floating next to a bridge Datsue-ba- On a Boat The Onryo will have some water, foliage, and maybe paper lanterns on the water. Datsue-ba will have a more complete boat, as well as some chunks of skin and flesh inside (to go along with her mythology) So, this is where you come in. What other base ideas should I use for the other models? How can I improve the existing ones? The only other special idea I have so far is to include a stone lantern on the Shikome's base, so she can be hind of swooping by. Otherwise, I am out of unique ideas. Comments and criticism very welcome. ***UPDATE*** I am going to post some of the other progress pics up here on the jump page for the benefit of future viewers- Check the thread for details on each stage-
  9. @Odinsgrandson So, my wife was just showing me some wedding photos a photographer friend of hers took, and I couldn't help but think "hmmm.... I've seen these before..." Lo and behold, it was the couple from this wedding cake. They did a "second session" of photos in the woods after the wedding, and they were dressed exactly like this. Freakin awesome work on your part, you really captured them. If it weren't for copyright issues, I would put you in contact.
  10. Ha! Will do. I didn't consider actually taking in-game pictures.... You might have just given me an idea for how to spend my evening.
  11. Witchlings look awesome- love the swords, and the color scheme. The other two look pretty good, but some constructive criticism... Sonia's face looks... off. I know that it is partly due to the sculpt, but her cheeks look too wide, and she kind of looks like she has a 5 'o clock shadow. What colors and techniques are you using for your faces? I feel like more gentle graduation of colors might help fix some of the little issues. Still, great looking crew.
  12. Nice highlighting on the purples- it really gives some good graduation despite the mostly single-color scheme.
  13. 4.) Use retarder. It may be a black art, but it is wonderful once you've mastered it. I love your Lost Love. I was going to go a similar route with mine, but I will have to come up with something different now...
  14. I think my favorite part is his collar- that detail really adds a lot of flavor to this scheme.
  15. Greetings again, all. I picked up a Lady J box from a friend who was getting out of the hobby on Thursday, and I got my first mini painted. Figured I would share. The base uses Mantic Zombies and Ghouls, with a cork and soil core, along with static grass. I went with a pretty standard scheme, in anticipation of doing a similar theme for my Dead Justice box (when I get my grubby little hands on it). I am really happy with the way the base turned out- it works with her pose a little better than normal, since she is looking down and twisting away- I figure this is a snapshot taken just before all undead-flaying hell breaks loose. Thanks for checking her and her glorious boobies out. More to follow.
  16. Thanks! If I can make you depressed with my minis, my job is done.
  17. Nice! However, let me tell you, that lamp post is going to become the bane of your existence- I have it one one of my belle's bases, and I knock her over constantly.
  18. Lookin good! Nice standard scheme, well executed!
  19. I updated the pics on the original post- just wanted to update any interested parties!
  20. I love it. Great use of the bowler.
  21. Quick work for a solid-looking model! Might I recommend using a slightly muted shade of white for the eyes to avoid any bugginess, and perhaps some lining to make them a little more distinct. Otherwise, great job!
  22. Nice, ghostly look, and I love that you are mixing up the Seishin. I'm excited to see the rest of the crew!
  23. Ditto to Gabriel- Looks like a nice model, but I can't see the detail in the pics.
  24. We have been dominating the Miniature board with Leveticus lately! Go Team Immortal Old Men!
