1. I like the dusty look. Would love to know the details on how you did it. Is it just a series of drybrushings or was there something else done to them? They look great.
2. I LOVE glow effects, I planned on doing some directional lighted effects on him, but maybe a glow in the eyes and the tummy-mouth.... Hrmmm....
3. Thank you! I will post some pics when I see how it looks...
4. Delightful! I loved them as a kid... Sculpts look great too.
5. Here is a shot of my Lord Chompy Bits. The colorations are tough to explain unless you have worked with PearlEx pigments. So far I've primed in Army Painter Matte Black, then undercoated with a suspension medium and the PearlEx Lavender Mist (see his legs). After that I have used the Interference Violet as first highlight, then mixed a small amount of bone white to the mix for the top highlight. It leaves the model with a very purple pink metallic sheen, and on the table top the colors shift and change from Purple to Pink to White and it's nearly impossible to photograph. I am have trouble figuring out a contrast for the "hard" parts of Chompy, his face, talons, and the spikes that stick out of him. Anyone have any color suggestions that might work with this? I am stumped.
6. I like the skin tone on Lilith, it's almost a Native American tone. Mind sharing the recipe?
7. I've found some pieces small enough in doll house stores... Hobby Lobby has a pretty good selection. What you look for is the "small" size in the standard and it looks pretty good for 28-30MM... http://store.dollhousecollectables.com/accessories2.html I order from here some times...
8. I'm editing photos and posting as I go... I don't mean to overwhelm with all my photos and stuff, but painting mini's for me is just fun... I like sharing them and seeing what y'all say... Here is a copycat and Seamus....
9. Those turned out GREAT! :worship:
10. I did this with my Vampire Counts (just the counts). It took a lot of time, and some of the bases will have to be reworked. I found that putting them on a rock base (just a piece of slate, and then putting the magnets in the slate helps a ton. As does having a tungsten bit on your dremel for hollowing out the stones and the tin pewter....
11. I love these. I wish my first attempts had been this good, they are however buried in parts of GA swampland least the world ever face their vile visage.... You are doing great, I know he's your least favorite, but I love the Green Mohawked punk... he's my fav.
12. Miss Sybelle - Grande Dame... in yellow vinyl... never. again.
13. Zombie 3 - Blue Belle She was the last of the three and my favorite... there was a bit of flashing that was on the back of her head when I was cleaning her up, and it kind of looked like brain matter, so I put a bullet hole in her forehead from Seamus' gun and let the back hang out...
14. Zombie Hooker 2 - Green with Jealousy Second one, she got a little stronger. With the skin tones though I should have made her dress something other than Green... she looks like a poison ivy blow up doll (see her mouth)...
15. Gonna post up some pics of Seamus and his ladies. Thoughts and comments, as always, are needed and appreciated. Zombie Hooker 1 - Pretty in Pink (She was my first painted Wyrd Mini)
16. I like him. I know that the other comments point out a few improvements, but when you are working with bits it's very hard to find an arm that is in proper proportion to the torso, and to sculpt the bibbed overalls and the head onto it was a great feat. He looks great. The one comment that I definitely agree on is the rope belt. A thinner sisal or hemp rope might make it a bit more proportioned.
17. That's part of my photo issue. It doesn't look all gloopy in Real Life. The lines and shading seem to blur on the camera... maybe she really is a ghost....
18. I used a pencil to make a grid on the base coated paint and then free handed on the grid. Gridding helped with the symmetrical ones like Tenderheart, but the sleepytime bear I think it hurt on. I would have just freehanded that one if I had known.
19. Every one of the teeth is a little different. I used Squid Pink as a base for most and either the Baal Red or Badab Black GW washes a few times over to darker the gum lines, then went over the teeth with Jack Bone from P3 and washed those with the Sepia wash...
20. So here is a brighter shot... It's still not looking correct in the photo. I have a crap camera, hopefully Santa will bring me a new one this year...
21. Highly doubt it, and I'm sure I'll never table them with the other 4 I have sitting on my painting table... ROFL. I'm just addicted to them...
