  1. What's a reasonable height for a two-storey building? I'm an architect and took one from one of my drawings and scaled it accordingly- it felt a bit too big. Some suggestions would be great
  2. thats right. It has to be a magical attack to do full damage to a spirit
  3. that 'tina trick is nice, I'll have to try that one out!
  4. Teddy isn't much of a problem as a Ramos crew can outfight all but the nastiest of Neverborn things, a Steamborg can floor him in one activation with only slightly better than average cards, never been troubled too much by Kade either, it's the inability to target Pandora more than her mobility that makes her a problem, Pandora with soulstones and a sorrow is invulnerable
  5. The problem with trying to corner Pandy likke that is that you have to give her 'stepping stones' which with an Incite or Passify can propel her across the board in little 4" jumps. The closest I've come to killing her is with Kirai's Ikiryo by summoning it into the middle of her sorrows with everything else out of incite range, unfortunately all of Kirai's abilities and spells work against her with Pandy so once your opponent gets onto this it's game over
  6. Watch out taking Corys with Ramos as they easily outpace the rest of his gang which can leave them out on their todd to be alpha-striked by the Ortegas. Look up 'glass cannon' in the dictionary and if you look closely you'll see a little picture of a Coryphee. Keep them back until they get to a point where they can dance through the gunline and preferably end up in something's melee range forcing your opponent to shoot into combat with a 50/50 chance of hitting their own man
  7. I got pulverised by McMourning in my last game- the Coryphee Duet got oneshotted by Big Mac and that was me out of heavy-hitters save Hans who got bogged down in combat by turn 3 (not before making Big Mac burn all his soulstones from a series of headshots). Might drop hans and a performer to take Killjoy. Colette's hypermobility is useless against a blunt instrument like McMourning
  8. My friend and I were the first of our group to pick up Malifaux and have subsequently had to bring Malifaux to the masses. The only advice I can give is KEEP IT SIMPLE! avoid more unusual gangs (i.e. Pandora, The Hag, Kirai, Leveticus etc.) our demo games typically use the Death Marshalls (the most straightforward box) and another gang, usually Lilith or Ramos (simply due to availability). Depending on the level of experience you may want to keep the Strategy simple and limit the players to a single Scheme so they get the idea behind the mechanics without being overwhelmed. The simplest starter game we've run is a shared slaughter with no schemes
  9. Great stuff! Consider your colour scheme for the Rattler stolen- been wondering what colour to paint him for a while
  10. awesome! I'm definately getting a couple of them!
  11. It might help to read up a bit on Japanese folklore first, they have thousands of spirits (almost all of Kirai's models have a folklore counterpart- except Seishin). You could start with Tsukomogami- objects that have lasted for 100 years and have gained sentience, they can be almost anything. Perhaps more fitting would be the Hitodama- a fireball ghost that appears when someone dies (very appropriate considering her rules!)
  12. Cheers, thats what I'm after. A lot of the new Guild toys have an ability that allows them to be used by Ramos and I was wondering if you needed to pay the additional SS as they don't have the 'Mercenary' trait.
  13. Hoffman is a M&SU member and can therefore be included in a Ramos crew hypothetically speaking in a larger game would I have to pay the additional +1SS to use some of the Guild Constructs as I'm hiring outside of my faction or the base price as I am including a Guild Master? I know Ramos can take a few of them anyway but does he do so at a +1 SS without Hoffman?
  14. This does need some Wyrd-style clarification as (to my understanding) it makes the Sorrows next to useless and also makes Mannequins less useful as well (they only get one AP if memory serves so they have the same problem) so Link will only serve as a kind of Mannequin / Sorrow bus to shuffle them around the board. At least the Mannequins can be useful for Disappearing Act
  15. Awesome, I love stuff like this. I'd rather have that than the pink plastic things they make now
