  1. Same here! Love your razorspine too! Your basing really stands out!
  2. Got some dull cote on my lunch break. God bless Ace Hardware! Thanks for the advice guys!
  3. Finally posted figs to Photobucket. Malifaux is my first mini's game since Confrontation 3.5. Probably going to sell all my stuff (Mid-Nor/Cynwall/Wolfen, Menoth, Sisters of Battle, and Necrons) to invest in Malifaux and terrian when the WWG stuff comes out. Here's the link to the album: http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/achieve_more/Malifaux/Gunslingers/ Didn't like the positioning of Nino or Papa Loco so tried to find something that made sense. HUGE regret! Not quite realizing how few models I'd need to complete a crew, picked up Army Builder's Quickshade to seal and "cheat" highlighting/shading all in one step. Yep I was one of those that doused all of my GW figs with Tamiya "Smoke" in the late 80's... Shoulda left it back in that decade... EDIT: Just so I wouldn't have to create another post, here's the link to my Pandora Crew also: http://s1222.photobucket.com/albums/dd492/achieve_more/Malifaux/Legion%20of%20Sorrows/ As I love card magic, I thought it appropriate to use playing cards to base my Neverborn... here's the link to the cards for those interested: http://www.ellusionist.com/arcane-deck-playing-cards.html I find it curious how because my bases weren't created freehand but were fabricated that other players poo-poo on the bases. Not saying it's right or wrong... just find it curious about our culture. Enjoy! Comments welcome!
  4. one other idea is to bring a mousepad with you to lay your cards on so you can get underneath that edge... I know... one extra thing to bring, but it will help keep your game running smooth.
  5. The only additions I recall are the Kirai boxed set with Gaki clams, the Colette Boxed set with Coryphee clams, the cover art for the 3 terraclips and the artist-renderings of detsue-ba and LCB. they moved some of the models around -- compiling every faction's last page of their catalog's layout from the previous catalog with some of the earlier pages... so 5 new or condensed pages/layouts in the new catalog but nothing you haven't seen from the "New Releases and GenCon" thread except the detsue-ba art which is on the cover.
  6. Just opened my LCB and the chest and back pieces sit just fine. Of course I'll use a bit of green stuff for the seam lines. Done many big models for WM and GW games, but nothing out of the ordinary on my cast as far as gaps or need for filing or sanding.
  7. Just to give you guys a bit of scope of how many orders they're processing over there: My first order was placed 3 am Thursday the 5th and I got my email confirmation the following friday the 13th. My second order was placed. Just before midnight the same day and I got that confirmation from nathan today. As a community, we must've done some MAJOR damage to the online store!!!!
  8. this maybe unorthodox, but I do eyes before basecoating. 1) white the eyes, not caring if I paint the lids, cheeks, etc... (you'll see in a bit) 2) i draw a line in the middle (or offset if I want the model looking to the side) representing the iris. 3) THEN I correct, whiting out the top and bottom lids, subsequently basecoating the face skin-tone.
  9. It's a very clever ploy. He's essentially running a 35 SS tourney under the guise of a 25 pointer. You can only take advantage of it if you bring a total of 35 canned goods (15:fee + 20 more for 10 extra SS). You wouldn't want to face an opponent running a 35 SS army with just 25 SS would you?!!? Bring more cans! Then beat the living daylights out of your opponent! Aye, truly a devious ruse it is!!! And think of all the house holds the event will help! Kudos to DV8!! More of us should be holding similar events in our communities!
  10. Welcome to the family! We're glad to have you and waiting to see your completed crews!
  11. I agree. A second Ed rulebook would replace, not complement book 1. If it were a second edition, all errata would be integrated in the new rules and it would have rehashed every current faction and character, making all other print sources obsolete, like d&d, warmachine mk2, and what Age of Ragnarok did to ruin Confrontation 3.5. (gawd I hope wyrd never tries to pull that one off with Malifaux...)
  12. That's too funny! I thought the same thing!
  13. Dreamer is the kid riding on LCB's back... 1-sculpt.
  14. As Neverborn characters are the stuff of dreams and fairy tales gone awry, a Neverborn Santa! Crew would include Jack Frost, Evil Reindeer, Frosty, maybe a hot Mistress Claus. Might work as a Ressurectionist too depending what one might pull out of that magic bag of his. Fun to maybe even have all the holidays represented... Father Time with a cool scythe, a Leprechaun, Easter Bunny... Might be much but a Christmas Themed army would be cool... Even if they came out as Twisted figs! But you gotta come out with an evil Jack in he Box!
  15. Obscure White Wolf books by Robert Weinberg: Masquerade of the Red Death trilogy great vampire series! and The Horizon War Trilogy focusing on White Wolf's Mages, who kick Vampires asses! Great plot, pacing, and characters. Only find on amazon or as PDF files.
  16. New to Malifaux and skirmish games in general. last skirmish game I played was Necromunda when it first came out in the early... let's just leave it at 'early'... Loving the models, the fluff and not having to build armies in increments of 500 points in order to have a well rounded game. Chose Pandora really because of the murderous children. Jumped online and saw that it was a 'finesse crew' and got worried about tactics and the added dynamic of casting spells on friendlies. Lately it's come up that the tactics have now changed with the latest errata. I've got 2 more models from the boxed set to paint plus teddy before I'm ready to play... Don't mean to frustrate anyone here but anybody mind listing the general step 1,2,3's as to what moves, who casts what and when to maximize the synergy with all the characters in light of the errata (opponent crew, strategies and schemes aside if possible)?
  17. Love to see an underground, third-world "cock fight pit" where Masters bring animated voodoo dolls outfitted with weapons but also act as magical extensions. THAT would make a great sub-line genre game and give opportunity for fun conversions... I think Teddy holding a stuffed Teddy or better yet a stuffed KAde would make a characterful conversation piece!
