  1. Effects are generated by closest model in range. So a model that triggered drain blood would leave 1 less corpse counter than usual.
  2. *twitch* Must have new stuff. Is mine! Mine! Scrap counters I can do, I gutted a few clocks and got a ton of parts. Hell, that's where my treasure counter came from. Corpse counter's I'm still waiting for inspiration.
  3. Receipt'll be sent after you pay. Trust me! Totems are an extension of the Master/Henchman's will, a small manifestation of their desire and will, embedded into a physical form. Sometimes it's pure power made manifest, such as Lady J's Scales of Justice, and sometimes it's more a actual item, such as Perdita's Enslaved Nephilim. It can be a regular, everyday thing imbued with magic, such as Ramos's Brass Arachnid (It's the first Construct he created, remade with his power) or the new Walking Toolbox (Literally just a magical toolkit).
  4. First: Fluff-wise? They're just another species in Malifaux. They're not Nephilim, they're not Human... As far as I know, no official word on what they are. Second: A little bit, but within each faction there's variation. Guild- Great at combat, mostly buffs and damage. Ressurectionists- Great at summoning, do a bit of Debuff work on the side. Arcanists- Great at spellwork, do summoning ont eh side. Good battlefield control. Neverborn- Great at the Debuff/control stuff. Hand control, model control, board manipulation. Outcasts- Sorta a hodgepodge, both with the individual masters and as a whole. Mix of all of the above. Third: The new book has a lot of new models, some updated rules, and a expanded encounter section, which adds new Strategies, Schemes, and Scenarios, as well as new terrain. So all of the above! Fourth: Give me a million dollars and I'll se what I can do. Hell, since i like you, just make it 500,000. Just make the check out to Chris's Alternative Science Headquarters. You should probably just use the acronym.
  5. Soulless Life (Levi's Master-specific Scheme) says "killed or sacrificed", so yeah, Killjoy counts as one of the 4 deaths necessary! I tend to run him in 30SS+ games, as I can't justify him and the almost-automatic Rusty Alyce together in anything smaller.
  6. Well, I'm finally unpacked from Gen Con, and I'm getting a day off work to relax again. Hooray! This means I can get back to the job I like- my addiction to Malifaux! So, my Big List of Things to Do: Finished, Need Basing: Steampunk Abominations Leveticus Hollow Waifs Need Finishing/Work: Rusty Alyce (Just not satisfied yet) Ice Gamin Necropunks Peacekeeper Killjoy (Just touch-up) Joss Electrical Creation Primed and Ready to Paint: Rasputina Cerberus Ice Golem Lady J Box Set Victorian 50mm Base (For the Peacekeeper) 1 Steampunk Arachnid (Single Spider) Essence of Power December Acolyte Assembled: Collette Box Set Coryphees Seamus Box Set Bette Noir 1 Teddy Punk Zombies Miss Pack 1 Gremlinette The Dreamer Needs Greenstuff Work: Lord Chompy Bits Needs to Be Started: Every counter type except Treasure All Special Terrain Soooooo... Votes on what I should start first? Cuz I'm kinda overwhelmed, ha ha ha ha. I'll be keeping a running before/after/whatever pictures I feel like blog.
  7. Nekima. Three syllables. Personally, I tried a run with her, and I had Lilith in the back slapping down 1 Tot, then growing another (Just remember to position the tots within 10" of Nekima to get the easy grow ability.) while Nekima murdered what she could out front. It let me send Young into the fray so that nekima didn't get slaughtered, and then the next turn Mature them with the Counters Nekima had picked up the round before. It's was a pretty good assembly-line, made easier by the fact that if anything tried to outposition me, Nekima just used Growth Spurt and my whole army flew across the board to reposition. Worked out pretty well!
  8. Unfortunately, as of Book 2, a model can no longer produce more counters/effects than it's base size (30mm=1, 40mm=2, 50mm=3) upon being killed/sacrificed. So killing a terror tot nets you one single Blood Counter, I think. its the "Rule of Equivalency", pg. 34 of Book 2.
  9. Aaaaaaaand now I have a vision of Hoffman in a cape. With a robo-attendant carrying a fan to make sure it flutters correctly.
  10. Well, technically we don't see it happen. Just see a building fall down on her head, burying her and her boyfriend under millions of tons of rubble and debris. Which then promptly explodes in a wave of necromantic energy. So. Uh... yeah.
  11. Plushie LCB! PLUSHIE LCB!!!!!!! Honestly, plushie anything. But some gamer gear, like shirts, hats, patches... would be awesome. I'd love to put the "Bad Things happen" logo on the back of my motorcycle jacket.
  12. She's going to die, then gain power. And **SPOLIER SPOILER SPOILER** Lady J dies at the end of book 2. But who says she's dead forever? **END OF SPOILERS END OF SPOILERS END OF SPOILERS**
  13. A blunt object for beating people who beat you? Well, that or Sketch. Ooooooh, and bribe money for the judges. Or is that last one just me? :-P
  14. Oh yeah, Gunsmith. Reposition after every shot automatically? Oh my yes!
  15. Madness? Madness! ... and now that we've got that out of the way... Considering how many people were at gen con, I'm amazed any of out Wyrd folks find tike to breathe. I don't even want to think about how many online orders were made.
  16. I agree, new stuff hefore alt-stuff. Maybe we could get some presents for christmas though... ;-)
  17. Let me explain something- I really don't want to use non-unique sculpts. I love having tons of different miniatures, and I really don't want to field repeat models. With that in mind, I've had to look at different minis to make up bigger numbers for common units. For SPAs and possibly a alt-DE, I've been looking at the Mechanithralls/Brute Thralls from Warmachine- they're very "steampunk zombie". Only thing is I'm not sure how the Brute Thrall (which is what I'm thinking of running as a DE model) compares to the DE size-wise. Zombies are really easy, no matter what they are. Death marshals, just get some cowboys, do some conversion to give them Peacebringers, and buy a set of Coffins. Anyone else do the same as me? And note: If there were any more sculpts made by Wyrd, I'd get them in a heartbeat. I have what, 6 box sets now, plus LCB, plus tons of blisters? I just don't want to "double up" on things like SPAs, Necropunks, and whatnot.
  18. BugKing, you're taller than I am, and I'm not a short guy. You'd be overbearing in a whisper. :-P ... Please don't crush me.
  19. Depends. the Book 2 Tourneys were proxy-legal, i think. But teh last Scrap was "no proxies". So it varies from tourney to tourney.
  20. I pinched a set of Dragon Wings off another model, and I'm just conna smack 'em onto either Lilith or probably a Demoness from 40k. A succubi could also work, and you could get it pre-painted. *shrug*
  21. Ahhhhh. It's whatever you and your opponent agree is fair, but in tournaments, it's played as the blast goes through. I kinda imagine that it shakes the house and blows a small hole in the wall- not big enough to go through, but enough to hurt anyone standing next to the wall.
  22. It's 60 miles to... Peoria?? *shrug* We have half a tank of gas, a carton of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses. Hit it! Welcome to Malifaux!
  23. From the Fluff... A couple specific masters get their transcendence written up (including Nicodem, Sonnia, and Rasputina, among others), but according to the fluff, every Master. Say it with me: hells yeah.
  24. Well, at least past October, as the release schedule for up til then is already up. I doubt November, just because of some of the previews seen at Gen Con. My guess, and it is just a guess, is at least December, if not later. You could try and bribe Eric or Nathan, but be warned, it either takes a lot of cookies or things my lawyer said I am no longer obligated to discuss with you.
  25. Huh, I got the 2010 D6 in my bag... Got you 20% off the LE dice, too. *shrug* It's blue, kinda wish it was the violent orange it was on the tin, lol. Of course, this is the man who got a green-purple dice set and a silver-yellow dice set. I love ugly dice.
