  1. I, for one, welcome our new Amazon Warlords.
  2. Finally got my Dining Room box, and all is well. It did come with the Amazon Women of Malifaux (I'm not horribly bummed. They will be fun to assemble and paint regardless). In particular, this Hannah is positively darling. I've already got her assembled into her two painting halves, and will be priming her once the base is ready. Can't wait.
  3. I'll speculate, what with Crossroads being "Remaining Models plus awesome story encounters", we will probably see them keep up with that format. "Avatars, a couple more models, and more awesome story encounters" Give us new ways to use the existing models, and a handful of new ones. THEN.... Release more story encounter model boxes with the unique models and tokens like the Transmortis University box to support the favorite encounters in the new books. I'd love to see more officially sanctioned special boxes like that which come with 3-4 scenario models, a small piece of terrain, and an additional box-specific scenario/upgrade set.
  4. I'm still waiting for mine in Seattle. Have heard that some other folks in the PNW have got their stuff today, so eere's hoping that its not my stupid neighborhood delaying delivery.
  5. I'd go to WyrdCon. In a heartbeat. I gotta say, pretty stoked to be within a few days of my box-o-goodies.
  6. "Sufficient Nothing". This may be my new favorite thing.
  7. Nah, "nothing" as in decay to nothingness. Clearly Leveticus.
  8. I'm not opposed to taking money to write rules. It wouldn't be the first game (or even RPG) that I've written! So, you guys inspired me to sit down and get the thing drafted out this evening, so I've got Enchanting done. If you guys like this system or can suggest tweaks, let me know and I'll see about getting them in. The goal was to keep it somewhat fluid like the rest of the system, but with just enough "system" that a player could look at it and have a decent understanding of what would be required of them. This is a link to the PDF, please feel free to view/download as desired: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9AdVqjNrVL0TWpwaDRsS1VHN2M/edit?usp=sharing Give me another week or so on the Alchemy stuff, and after that I'll get Artefacting stuff finished (Bow, I'll try to get you at very minimum the time and success guidelines for constructs if the rest is taking me too long) Cheers!
  9. I've got Enchanting dialled in pretty well, but need to actually draft up the document (and could probably use some more minor enchants), and the Alchemy stuff is getting there. I've got Artefacting prototyped, but am not certain really where to go from there as I had kind of envisioned it overlapping somewhat with construct manufacture and custom melee (and Ranged!) weapons. This part will need some more time, but if you are looking just at building constructs, I've got the relevant size v. time portion near and could share that. Give me until this weekend to get the stuff typed up and I'll kick it your way.
  10. I suspect, if they have started slapping tracking numbers on packages and making piles, that we will start seeing happy posts with images starting Thursday and carrying on through about the following Wednesday (sorry Europe and Aussie folks, I have no concept of what it takes to get a package from the eastern US to your door, so no idea how long from there). Considering that there are really only 4 "products" being shipped plus some random others, I anticipate that IF there are mis-shipments that it will be of the "Hey, I shoulda had a Santana also" nature, which can be fixed pretty easy. Today is a very happy day. Thank you all, Wyrd!
  11. As much as I really don't need a whole second Pandora crew, I'd gobble that nightmare crew up in a heartbeat with models like that. Not like there's really much chance of me NOT getting some of the special stuff in a few weeks, of course...
  12. I have a strange feeling that is adult Kade to go with Adult Candy. And as far as the models, You have to admit the cross faction stuff that Wyrd has been doing with M2E is flat out insidious. I used to be full on Neverborn, but now with Lucius as a usable master.... I might swing over through Hoffman and then into Arcanist just to use that Performer model though. Damn is she good.
  13. Yes. Multi-Pose Miniatures are not Hannah. Hannah is good to go, and the backers who paid enough to get her painted have already seen an image of their miniatures painted. I'm super stoked to see our special fate decks.
  14. Some PDF viewers have clonky "tag bookmarks" stuff, but to make a real nice nested table of contents, you need a full version of a PDF editing software. It took me two hours to add good bookmarks to mine, and considering that is fairly standard issue for most digital copies I'm pretty surprised that it wasn't done here for ours. For an example of what PDFs for game rulebooks should look like, check out Deathwatch. I mean, Fantasy Flight makes some delightful games, but their actual rulebooks are loosely organized garbage and even THEY have a good table of contents on most of their PDFs. TL/DR; for a reference PDF, it should have had bookmarks made already.
  15. That's not entirely true. The PDF's don't have the bookmarks that make them usable during play. However, that's still a fair clip better than not having products. Pretty stoked to finally have copies in hand.
  16. I'm currently working on some loosely functional rules for Enchanting (per the skill), after which I'll do some work on Alchemy and perhaps touch up Artefacting a bit. All of these will be posted here as they complete. Really, the only thing I'm missing at the moment is the crafting skills. Combat and Magic are excellent, and all the social and narrative skills are just the right degree of flexible. It's just the "how do you make things" that we have zero guidance on.
  17. I anticipate, with the short holiday week and recent silly that this was destined to be a week of silence regardless. I can't imagine that Wyrd would have made this a Mandatory OT week for their folks regardless, plus shipping is liable to be beastly over the holiday. Here's hoping that Monday brings news of any sort whatsoever.
  18. I would be curious to see if there are particular schemes that wind up more common with particular masters. The Pandora crew I play tends to have a really easy time with Outflank and Entourage ('cuz Pandora is FAST and can get over there without too much work). I seem to have a harder time with the scheme marker ones. Particularly Line in the Sand.
  19. I do feel like its about time for a "Hey, still on boat" or "Jerks at Customs are holding us up" or "boxes just walked into the warehouse. Overtime to infinity next week so you guys get your stuff" come about Monday. Ultimately, So long as it comes before the indeterminate time some time between late summer and early winter when I move, it will be fine. It is definitely time for a "state of affairs", even if that state is "still on boat".

    Wyrd Chronicles 12

Excellent Chronicles overall. The bit on hand management is pretty slick, and a good primer for newer players. I am pretty curious about the card art in that section as well. If we wind up seeing a deck with those designs I might have to pick up (yet) another fate deck.
  21. I've said before in other threads, your players will in large part influence how easy a time you have with this game as Fatemaster. The system is very slick and very flexible. The Fatemaster's Guide has the best section on "what your job as Fatemaster actually IS" that I have seen in gaming manuals. Specifically, the "Getting to Yes" portion is amazing. I personally find it to be a highly enjoyable challenge to run the system in terms of setting up sessions, and very very easy in terms of actually running them. The hardest parts are setting appropriate difficulties (largely because I haven't printed a reference sheet yet) and making sure that the combats are "the right difficulty". The fights will take some getting used to, but if you plan your story arc for the campaign (bullet points, not detailed notes), talk to your players outside of session to understand what their goals as Fated are, and are willing to bend your details a little to include the fated desires, that this game is a great one to learn how to be a Game Master.
  22. I can't wait to wrap up my story and pass the torch. See the other side of the coin.
  23. Acrimony and nerdrage regarding lack of communication aside (justified, mind you), this game is really really good. If you have a good gaming group, you guys will lurve it.
  24. For a demo of this system, I'd try to do it somewhat streamlined. Start with a two to three paragraph story, telling the characters why they are in some backwater village outside of the metrolpolis of Malifaux. Ask them what type of character they would like to play: Caster, Melee Fighter, Ranged Fighter, Tinkerer/Academic. Have sheets printed up with a set of gear choices for each class (keep it lean and easy, but give them choice) Have the same sheet include "Good skills for [Pursuit Type]"; Again, keep it somewhat simple, based upon archetype and not exactly pursuit. Go through character creation, asking the players to flesh themselves out briefly and why their character might be in some mining town saloon. Once everyone has a character, start with a socially focused encounter. Give some skill challenges, and something short but ongoing. Move out into a "Search the town for a specific thing" narrative time thing to give them some elbow room. Conclude with a combat at the Quarry with 2 Enforcers and 3-4 Minions. Explain how end-of session works, and then talk about how the fates get tied into the system. Do something like that, you could probably demo a pretty fulfilling game in ~1-2 and turn 3-4 sessions over in a day per Fatemaster. The key is to keep them focused on archetype. Limited, meaningful choices.
  25. Couple guards, couple zombies, couple ghost like things should get you most of the way.
