  1. Dont get me wrong, Nico would love a few extra stones to his cache, and a wk 4 would be lovely. But he is still good as written. I went to NOVA Open, but ended up playing McMourning round 1 and Kirai the next three. I did decently, McMourning got beat by Lilith and Kirai did fine the next few rounds, but I ended up outside the top 3. And I didnt stay for the midnight tourney. I will be at Gen Con this year, but not for tournaments. I am up for pick up games here an there though. as for Molly I wrote this up a while ago. Take a look: Im not going to try and tell you that Molly is an end all winner, becasue her crew selection is just far too limited. But I will say don't get discouraged by her and she is a lot of fun. Molly has a few advantages that you will need to learn in order to play her. #1 is speed. Its mask intensive speed, but speed none the less. Work Madame Sybelle and Rotten belles into position and work those objectives. If you any Mission where you can claim 4 points and not lose them (Anything with Evidence comes to mind) Molly can get you there as well as any Resser not named Kirai. #2 She isn't a chump to Kill. Its nice to have a master who can stand up to a hit with out other models protecting her. Not saying you want her staring down a Vicki or anything, but she will surprise you with how hard she can be to kill. #3 Wrecks the living. Unfortunate that so little of malifaux is alive, but Molly can force a lot of Morale duels with her AP. Terrifying and Reveal Philip can force those pesky guild guys to head for the hills. #4 Necrotic Machine. Kill your opponents biggest threat. Thats about what his card says. I usually dont re-summon them since they aren't signifigant and dont leave a corpse when they sac, but they are sooo good. Molly's biggest weakness is that she has the worlds most limited crew, Including 4 totems she has access to 9 models. And there isn't a lot of ability coverage. The Rogue Necro is require since nothing else in the crew can really deliver a melee punch. Also it leaves behind a lot of bodies when it dies, and it pretty much always will. Sybelle is a must take since she gives you a lot of movement tricks and a belle Alpha strike. But until Molly gets some cheap hitting horrors she will always have trouble. I would say the absolute most important thing to remember with Molly is that Malifaux is objective based. You can kill everything your foe has and still lose the game. Molly is good at getting objectives, so keep your focus and grab every VP you can. ---------- Post added at 09:49 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 AM ---------- A Quick add on to Molly. Just finished listening to Gamers Lounge Ep 54. (Bill link it) and Bill's interview with Eric declared that Eric is 100%, no doubt, swearing to us that some Molly love will release at Gen Con. I think we as a resser community have 2 options here. Thank him graceously when it happens or start a fire Riot if it doesn't =) ---------- Post added at 09:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:49 AM ---------- Another Add on for Molly! What kind of lists are people taking with her and Seamus? I haven't been able to get the points to work out right.
  2. It just a short discussion too. I'm pretty sure we could debate back and forth on this for 2-4 hours if we had the time. I think we did good considering the time factor =) Also chatting with Sandwich was fun. And don't feel bad about your segments. You did great, and don't forget I'm a podcast veteran, I've crashed Nix's cast several times before. My big shock was how good the sound quality on a mic from a set of headphones my brother found lying around his basement. Also if anyone wants to ask me direct questions, I'll answer any questions and defend any of my points if needed.
  3. It took a second but I was able to grab the pic with Print Screen. Thats definetly a corpse at his feet. let the speculation begin!
  4. grumble more work... aww who am I kidding, I love attention, I can do these things.
  5. I dont like any of the resser schemes or Nico's. In a tourney I will take Army of the dead when I play Seamus, but thats about it. Death after Death if I remember it right is a decent one for A-Nico since he makes Mindless Zombies friendly and all so you can just pump them out turn after turn. Also A-Nico can't use Corse counters so he can pick them up for Army of the Dead.
  6. Wow, that guy is a genius! we could all learn from his tactics! *smug* I stand by eveything I said in that post. I realize that others like mortimer, I don't understand it necessarily, But to them I say... well he's pretty terrible.
  7. I like to preface anything tactic based I say with this; "these are my opinions formed from my experiences" I don't like Mortimer. He is 7 stones and I rarely feel like he made up those points. When I play Nicodem without the avatar I don't take dogs, and I dont kill my own stuff. I don't like slowing down my crew down to kill my own stuff, and honestly if you take the time to kill your own guys then you are in some way slowing yourself down. When I play Nico, I don't tool a crew for him. I tool the crew to the mission. Some Belles, Crookedmen, and usually the Deadrider and Grave spirit are a strong Core, along with speedy guy for objectives or hitters for kill missions. When I take the Avatar I do take some Dogs, but they aren't there just to be killed. Your opponent will handle that if you let him. Use them to lead your attack and do some small damage, but get your opponent out of position. They will die and then you cna make some Zombies. I agree that Speed is king, which is why your can't sit around in your DZ waiting to kill your own models.
  8. Awesome story, always glad to see the young kid win!
  9. Well clearly he's terrible, he is part of Nicodem. Who as we have all come to learn is only to be used by the best and sexiest of players. A-Nico is beastly. Mindless zombies may be crap, but when you spam them out the Way A-Nico does, you can own the activation order pretty easily. Also seeing the Old guy surf around the board at wk 7-8 is kind of awesome. Combine with the fact that he kept his top 2 spells in Riggor and Decay and I see no reason not to attach his avatar every time I play Nicodem. You lose his summoning flexability, but gain so much more. My recomendation to anyone who is have issues with A-Nico is to focus less on summons and more on Riggor!
  10. Thanks for quick response, I'll jab nix in the kidneys or something for ya
  11. Drowned are cheap board control models. I dont really like them with McMourning since they are spirits and dont leave corpses. But they have solid potential to dish out a lot of small hits to a lot of models. I find they are great since you often can force your opponent to cheat cards out of hand or let his guys take wds from them. Im a big fan of 2 of guys backing up Kirai and Seamus
  12. What does this spell do? I have always played is as Seamus has a Terrifying 14 that affects models up to 4 inches away from him. But its not exactly how the spell reads, and the RM terrify doesn't really have a section on how to use it with Auras. So some possiblities that have come up are. Seamus has a 4in bubble of terrifying 14 around him Seamus just has Terrifying 14 and the Aura does nothing Seamus gives Terrifying 14 to all friendly models in the aura I really think its #1, but Nix has me second guessing myself.
  13. Not really. I like crooligans, but their limitations make them not super great if Molly isn't in the crew. And if you use her as a henchwoman you can take other objective grabbers.
  14. Another thought is to spend the extra points on a second dog so you dont have to kill your Chiuahuah for body parts. I have found him to be really usefull at Channeling Dissection. @Calmdown - How do you manage Schill and McM both wanting all the soul stones?
  15. This is why I dont summon one often as I stated previously. Also in order to kill things it needs a really high Crow. So I find a 1 off for it is enough. Save your crows for Belles and Sybelle. Also I seem to be alone in this one but I never use the dead doxy, even as a summon, I prefer Rotten Belles.
  16. If you Take Bette instead of the Rider, who does the Grave Spirit link to?
  17. No doubting the usefulness of an extra AP here and there, but the Necro machine is amazing, the ability to 1 shot any non-master for 2 stones and maybe 1 from your cache to boost the total is a steal. My necro-machine boasts a hefty resume of Kills; Lelu, Mature Nephlim, Lucius, Executioner, Nekima. (wow i seem to face NB and guild a lot)
  18. Wow so much hate for such a small girl. Poor Molly. Im not going to try and tell you that Molly is an end all winner, becasue her crew selection is just far too limited. But I will say don't get discouraged by her and she is a lot of fun. Molly has a few advantages that you will need to learn in order to play her. #1 is speed. On a personal note Im not sure why your taking the Student of Conflict, Molly's ap go waste often enough without spending 4 points to make her fast.
  19. Yeah this has gotten way off topic. I'm out, the open Challenge stands. I'm in the dc area and will be at gen con
  20. Well touche sir, I guess I didn't realize you had no emotion. Had I known you were Vulcan I never would have tried to dispute your supreme logic. Its darn unfortunate a friggin ocean seperates us so I don't have the chance to show you how wrong you are about your dreamer ideas. If you are ever near D.C or planning on making a Gen Con let me know, I'll pound you.
  21. Ill take any of you on. As Nix said im in the NoVA area and will be at Gen Con for games
  22. The biggest thing to take away from this list of Masters is its just one person's view of the game. Depending on the people who play in your group your list will differ significantly. He has rated Zorida at best a mid tier master, yet at last years Gen Con tournament the two players at the top table used her almost exclusively. So while in Calmdown's experience Hamelin may be the best master he sees used that won't be the same for everyone. And no matter how objectively you look at it your experiences with and against masters will be tainted by the people you play. Its all a matter of opinion, don't be afraid to form your own. On a bitter angry ranty note: Nicodem is a beast, if you can't win with him you seriously need to try again, and I might recommend maybe reading his card for once.
  23. So the Chihuahua is a fantastic totem for reasons other then cheap parts. In fact I dare say if thats you take it for your shorting yourself quite a bit. McMourning has a fantastic spell list. and a focused Disection or Wracked with Pain from the dog is worth the extra stone to buy a canine for parts in every game. Hes the only totem who can actually 1 shot a master, save up a high crow, cast dissect and stone it. Drop in a severe damage or if your lucky the red joker and watch your opponent cringe. Also Crooked Men are beastly. Sure their spells are hard to cast, but go ahead and mostly ignore them, for 4 stone they are pretty good in melee and can paralyze people,. The trigger alone makes them worth their points. I like that your focusing on Ressers. I strongly dislike the way you present it. Ressers are fun and strong if played well. It shouldn't be a chore or sacrifice to play them.
  24. Hunting Partner is one reason. As awesome as 1 Shikome is, they are even better in a pair. Start with 1, summon a second and watch then rip an enemy to shreds. Also I use her nimble and swirling spirits to get her in range to start grabbing objectives turn 1. I have planted 2 pieces of evidence with a Shikome on turn 1 before. Also I prefer to have every seishen I can at all times, which makes summoning a Shikome a rarity for me. My Kirai play style is very quantity over quality.
