  1. Thats true. The lists i posted are more for fun games. But i dont think they are as slow as u think they are. Drope some CN for 2 Night Terrors to get to one objectiv turn one. and summon the GA next to another objective. In addition u have the nurse to increase the wk of one GA by 2 and give him reactivate. Then he will be pretty fast at the objective (of course this only works for some special objectives like destroy the evidence) U still will need some more time to get to ur objectives but a game doesnt end after 3 turns. But i agree, i wouldnt try this list in a tournament.
  2. If u want to abuse Rafkins ability to produce Body Parts, i suggest to use McMourning. Its possible to summon up to 36MZ or 16 Guild Autopsies at turn 2. What do you need? McMourning - 8SS Zombie Chihuahua Nurse Rafkin 10x Dogs Turn 1 - Dog 1 goes def stance and close to dog 2-9 - Rafkin activates his aura, shot at Dog1 and place the poison AOE on Dog 2-9, hit on Dog 10 (+1 BP) - Dog 2-9 activate and die on poison - Dog 10 activate kills Dog1 if he survive Rafkins shot (cant remember the dmg code of his weapon), collect all 9 CC and send em to McM (+9 BP) - Chihuahua (its getting cheesy now!) use Fetch 2 times on McM. I cant find anything that would forbid it. McM drops 2x 9CC and get em back (+18 BP) - McM summon a Rogue Necromancy (+3 BP), and kills it with 3 hits (2 BP for McM, he has to spend one to get fast), do not take up the CC. Summary after Turn 1: 9 CC from Dogs, -4 for summoning the RN, +3 for killing the RN = 8 CC (5 of them on McM, 3 on the ground) 2 BP on McM for hitting the RN 32 BP on Rafkin Turn 2 - Nurse reactivate on Rafkin + Chihuahua - Rafkin activate aura, 2 hits against the nurse (+2 BP) - Dog10 collect the 3 CC from the dead RN and send em to McM (+3 BP) - Chihuahua (some more cheese) 4x fetch on McM (dropping 4x 8 CC) (+32 BP) - McM summon RN (+ 3 BP), Kills Chihuahua (+4 BP on McM) - Rafkin summons 36 MZ or 18 Guild Autopsies or any combination of them Whats left? McMourning Nurse (hurt) 1x Dog RN with slow 4 CC + 6 BP on McM Tons of Guild Autopsies I am not sure if Rafkin gains a BP when McM summons a model, coz he doesnt discard CC. If not that would reduce the amount of BP on Rafkin by two, and his own by 2. But he would have +1 CC. (-6 BP on Rafkin because he dont get them from summoning, but +4 BP because McM would have one more CC when the Chihuahua use fetch 4 times on him) I would suggest to summon Guild Autopsies because McM cant do much with MZ, and he has allrdaý enough CC/BP for the remainder of the game. GA might seem a lil bit weak, but if u have 18 of them they will do a lot of dmg If u wanna do it with Nico i suggest to drop the Necrotic Machine and get his Avatar. When u make a similar list like this one with Nico its possible to have up to 25 MZ in Turn two, should be lots of fun with Nicos Avatar
  3. Here is another nice combo with Molly and a Nurse. Molly + Nurse + Necrotic Machine Use Speed (reactivate) and Stimulant (+2/+2 wk/cg) on the Necrotic Machine. Then cast Mollys +3wk on the Machine too. Now it can walk 10 inch per AP. That is a total thread range of 34" with the instant kill spell of molly. Sure the CA is a lil bit low, but against an expensive model u can easily invest a SS to make sure it will be killed. After some fighting you can use some corpse counter to create a new Necrotic Machine and repeat it. Downside, its an investment of 7 points for the Nurse and the NM so you better choose an expensive target. But its really nice to be able to kill almost every model of your enemy on the field turn one.
  4. Essen would be an option, its still ~320 miles (511km), but that isnt too bad. But the Spiel in Essen is more an event for causal gaming stuff. I am not sure, if table top games like Malifaux or even Puppet Wars show up there. If they do, i think i will take a look at it. But i dont really expect Wyrd will be there. - the german Malifaux community is pretty small - there isnt a german version of Malifaux (some of us german prefer games in german, i dont know why coz the translation is mostly bad, sometimes wrong. so you have to check the english rules to be sure) I do not think it would be worthwhile for Wyrd to appear on the Spiel in germany
  5. I would like to see some new puppets that doesnt exist in Malifaux yet. Right now Puppet Wars feels more like a lite version of Malifaux (same models, just less. the card system instead of dices, and some of the rules are equal too). That isnt a bad thing, but i think it would be nice for the players of both games. PW would get something new that Malifaux doesnt have yet, and the Malifaux community would get a spoiler of what is coming next. The idea of an event deck that Doctor Lucky mentioned is a great one. I wouldnt mind if that would make the game a little bit in-balanced. It should just be a funny addition to improve the varity of PW. Some shoebox-faction-booster would be nice too. Like the boxes from Malifaux. That helps new players to get into PW without spending lots of money for the base game. Put in a Master, 1-2 Sidekicks, and 4 frequently used factiion pawns. Some new game elements: - Teleporter Tokens - Direction Tokens which move ur puppets at the end of the turn - Random Tokens with positiv or negativ effects (traps, heal, movement effects, torn apart, new toy found, ...) - co-op scenarios: 2-3 players against a boss puppet player - interactive terrain: doors, destroyable impassible terrain, first aid stations - hostile npc puppets or critters (automatic movement or decided by a card flip) - a bigger game board for larger games - strategies and schemes like Malifaux - rules for starting with upgrades in your scrap heap The possibilities are endless
  6. In a land called far far away. Im from germany, thats why i said i have trouble to visit Gencon or other events in the USA. A flight would take 15 hours to the east cost, and up to 19 hours to the west coast. When it comes to gaming it rly sucks to live in germany. Almost no events here, and if there is one, i am far away from it 100+ miles. Sure in germany are some guys playing Malifaux too, but i live in a very small village (2000 inhabitans) and the next "bigger" city (500k) is 35 miles away.
  7. Finally you guys did a good job. You convinced me to buy the game. I just ordered the complete pack (Base+MP+Pawn1-3) Now im excited and cant wait to get the stuff. I am reading about Puppet Wars since 3 weeks now. Hopefully it will be that awesome as you all told me. Thanks again for all your comments, a new puppet master is rising.
  8. Thx for all your answers so far. Only one last thing. Can someone tell me something how good the multiplayer works? Especially the 3 player option? Coz i think we will be more often 3 players instead of 2 or 4.
  9. As long as i cant get them from an online shop, i wont be able to get them. I live in germany and its not possible for me to visit Gencon (16+h of flight is a lil bit too much for me, just to buy some puppets :sadpuppet1 ) I wrote lots of stuff of puppet wars yet. And of course i watched some of the vids online. I'm sure the game is fun and the minatures are fine too. As i said i only need a little push and i will buy the base game + multiplayer booster. What i would like to know is, is there any downside with puppet wars? Every coin has two sides
  10. Since two or three weeks i am thinking about buying Puppet Wars, but im not 100% if it is worth it. I like the miniatures and the rules sound decent too. Some stuff i dont like on it: - no way to get Viki for me as rewards, and buying isnt possible as far as i know (not even on ebay) - random teddys. I'm not sure how they are packed, is in each booster a random teddy, or is ther only the chance that there is a random teddy in a booster? I want to play a table top and not a TCG like magic/wow. When i buy something i would like to know what i get. - in each pawn booster is at least 1 mini you want 2 or 3 times on the field if you play them (Pawn1-> Bayou Gremlin, Pawn2-> Guild Hound, Pawn3-> Piglet) As long as you dont have a greater community it will be difficult to get these figs more then 2 times without having 4 copies of several base pawns (sadly we are just 3-4 players who would play puppet-wars and it will be hard to find new players) The last point i mentioned isnt such a big deal, coz i think we will play with picking puppets from a great pool. Now its your turn, pls convice me that puppet wars is really worth the money and the rules are nice. I would like to hear some pro and contras from ppl who played some games.
  11. @ravenborne thx for the advice with the def stance. I havent thought on this. The Night Terrors arent just for objective grabbing in my crew. When things are getting close and i can spend a 8:crows i will use it for the -2WP trigger. This gives me an advantage for most of my attacks, and in addition it increases the effect of terrifying. @snord I rly dont see why u dont like to play a canine remains. It costs the same like a seishin. It becomes a seishin when it gets killed and in addition u get at least a corpse counter for a gaki, or u get an additional gaki/onryo when killed with Weigh Sins. Its also a bonus activation or two, to out-activate ur opponent. The only downside i cn see is, that u ave to burn 1-2AP to kill it. But with the movement shenanigans Kirai has it shouldnt be a big problem. @Fetid Strumpet Which kind of Kirai crews do u usually play? Would be nice if u could give me some thoughts. When ever i start creating a crew i end up with almost the same models. What do u guys think about the Jaakuna Ubume from book3? Is she worth taking/summoning or is an Onryo the better choice?
  12. Last week i decided to start with Kirai. I like her fast and mobile crew. And all those little tricks she offers. We want to start with 35SS games. And im glad about it coz Kirai seems to need much models to work well. After reading all her rules i started building some crews and i ended up with this: Ressurectionists Crew - 35 - Scrap Kirai Ankoku -- 6 Pool Lost Love [2ss] Canine Remains [2ss] Night Terror [3ss] Night Terror [3ss] Datsue-Ba [7ss] Desperate Mercenary [2ss] Seishin [2ss] Seishin [2ss] Jack Daw [9ss] My thoughts about the list: The Canine Remains and the merc is there to get killed by Datsue-Ba to get a Seishin and a Gaki or an Onryo (i hope thats legal coz one effect says summon the other placed). They cost the same as Seishin does and give me a free 3-5SS model. This will slow Datsue-Ba down for the first two turns, but thx to Kirais action i can swap him against a Seishin to move him up the field later. The Night Terrors are my objective grabbers, i have read lots about them in this forum, that they do the job best. I would like to play 3 of them, but i only bought one blister so far. Jack Daw... About this model im not sure. A bonus handcard is sweet, his no cheating aura too, and i can place him easily with kirai so my models doesnt suffer from the aura but my target does. I thought about to replace him with 1 Night Terror and 2 Drowned. This would reduce my SS-Pool by 2 but i think i should be able to handle with it. Here the models i have aviable for Kirai, but i don't mind about proxies: - Kirai - Ikiryo - Datsue-Ba - 5x Seishin - 2x Night Terror - 2x Onryo - Shikome - 2x Gaki - 3x The Drowned - Jack Daw - Insidious Madness (i could get him from my brother if he doesnt need him) - some standard undead models from the Niko and McM box + Canine Remains
  13. Im fine with that, but u could write something more than just, she is unique. After i read ur post i thought i have missed something. But im glad that she should be unique, cause it would be very strange to summon a henchman , and maybe a little bit broken
  14. In my rising powers rulebook i cant find unique in Mollys profile. Belle, Graverobber, Henchan 5, Special Forces (Horror), Undead thats all, nothing more
