  1. Well, go to defensive stance and hit twice, it still hurts the same. Good correction though, you can't run around too much while trying to be sneaky. Unless you're a Ronin.
  2. True, the killing part was somewhat obvious but I had forgotten that scrap counter thing about the SPAs. Sad. Collecting the corpse counters away sounds great though. Might have to try that with Nicodem too at some point...
  3. Yes, it was such a nice game. Treasure Hunt for Rasputina and Assasinate for Perdita. Because I was using the crew box and an Essence my speed wasn't that amazing. My brave Gamins were running for the Treasure Token like no tomorrow but still the Ortegas got there at the same time. We had a piece of ruins on the middle of the board where the treasure was waiting. Perdita and Francisco were there along my Gamin. Papa and Ninõ were after the Golem and Santiago was hanging around to get a shot at Rasputina. I might have been able to get the Token at least out of the ruins had I not used my (0) to cast Biting Chill instead of locking the buggers in the ruins. In addition to that I managed to pull the Black Joker on my Ice Pillars cast with the Essence The Gamins were quite dead after that. Biggest problems in my opinion (in case you have to kill them): 1) Perdita is quite hard to kill with Raspy. You can Curse her head on with a soulstone or a big card with a bit of luck. The rest of them might actually die if you try to kill them and your opponent isn't lucking with his cards. 2) If you're close enough to catch her with a Curse, you're so close that she and her happy group of friends will shoot you to death on their next activation. Companion works wonders to get rid of any Ice Pillars there might be between you and them. 3) You can try to catch Perdita with blasts, but those only do 1 or 2 Dg to her, she has Evasive 2. The rest of her crew is a lot easier to kill though. 4) White out helps against Papa and Francisco. But they'll kill you in melee instead. 5) Tying in melee only works against Santiago and Ninõ. Ninõ will be sticking to the forests somewhere far away. You might catch him with a beast though. 6) You'll be pulling Black Jokers on the Ice Pillars any way It might work better with a few beasts and an armored up Joss or Borg.
  4. The enemy gets an activation between the Carry and Lilith's activation. It might affect your plan somehow or not. And the Cherub has Companion (Lilith), you don't need Brood Mother for that. If possible it's better to activate both Lilith and the Cherub, give the Mature Companion with Brood Mother, then charge in with Lilith (17" threat range with a 6" move + 9" charge + 2" melee range, should be plenty) and do a lot of damage. Then cast Transposition with the Cherub, switch Lilith with the Mature and continue do more damage straight away. And then you'll just hope that the Mature Neph survives from whatever there's left. Or hit twice and go to defensive stance. All you really need is the card to pull off the Transposition. Because it's a spell you can choose to lose the Wp resist with Lilith and the Mature. Don't do it near Pandora and her Sorrows though
  5. The Canine Remains is a cheap utility model for Leve. It can do all kinds of stuff. If the situation doesn't look too amazing for Leve and his Hollow Waif you can make another one of the dog. Killing Leve and two Hollow Waifs in one turn might turn out to be rather hard for most enemies. Or make an extra Abomination out of him to pop out the Desolation Engine. It depends a lot on the crew your facing and how the game is going.
  6. Somehow I'm getting the feeling that you've been forced to play against her more than you'd like to It's just that her edge on other models isn't any bigger than in any other duel where your Cb/Ca/Wp is one lower than the Df/Wp of your enemy. I think Mr. Math is on my side here, I think. Of course she has the ability to push away from you if she wins and you take a wound. Still, it's pretty much the same to use Wp6 to hit Pandora as it is to use Cb7 to hit Lilith/Perdita. You miss Pandora, you take a wound and probably won't get to hit her again, unless your doing it with a ranged weapon. Miss Perdita and she might shoot back for a rather massice damage (up to 7), miss Lilith and you're at an even bigger disadvantage to try to hit her again. Still, a Hanged could give Pandora a on her Wp duels for the rest of the game which ruins her. Marcus can give her a Wp4 every turn she's within 8" of him, which also ruins her. Use Crooked men and she can't get close to your Master. You can also get her with blasts and pulses that cause damage without any problems of her running away. It's just that not every list will have an easy time dealing with her. That's pretty much the same with every Master and I like it that way. In my opinion the biggest problem at the moment isn't that she's hard to hit. It's that right now, she can drag a whole crew of Sorrows with her and one shot almost every model in the game by winning a Wp duel.
  7. Nurses are good. They're just too expensive to take more than one per game and it's questonable if you'd really need more than that. They really don't need to get in combat. Often it's also not worth it to pump expensive models full unless you can be sure to wreak extreme amounts of havoc. You could of course get a Warpig with reactivate and nice Cb bonuses on the opponents side of the table in brawl (Som'er+Zoraida) if you wanted to. Just lure him forward with Soueys by skeeters and it might get funny. Six 12" Pigcharges with Cb8 Dg3/5/7 :+fate on damage should do something. Then do it again with Piglets and Terror Tots.
  8. Cb7 vs. Df8 is all fine and dandy but Wp6 vs. Wp7 is not? Most Masters and a rather large number of minions have a Wp6 that shouldn't make it too hard to get her. And she, like everyone else, will run out of cards and soulstones eventually. The biggest problem with the current errata is that she can drag around a whole army of Sorrows with her and move way too much. Because of this it's enough to get one or two attacks in to kill the enemy master. This probably wasn't the intent. Also, when casting spells she loses her advantage. Her Ca6 doesn't give her much of an edge against the Wp6 of most masters. And she's not winning Wp duels when casting spells, thus not allowing her to move around. Of course the enemy model is still losing a Wp duel and take wounds. Possible fixes are probably that pushes don't work with Link again like before the errata. Or the ability to use multiple Incite/Pacify per turn is taken away from her (maybe only once each). Or she'll only be able to use them on enemy models. Or maybe losing Wp duels will start affecting her own models too. Maybe even a combination of these. The push thingy might need a fix anyway as it also makes it possible for Leveticus to throw the Desolation Engine quite far on any turn if need be though it's far easier to anticipate/ruin the Engine bomb than Pandora bomb as it takes several activations to get close. Murphy's Lawyer, limiting the number of Sorrows that can link to a model doesn't help here. Each model has only one other model Linked to it. edit. Of course with this tactic Pandora is at risk too, albeit small. Because Incite/Pacify aren't spells, you can't decide to lose the duel so you'll have to cheat the sorrows flip down at times or Pandoras flip up, which ever is easier. Pull a Black Joker at a critical time and you're out of luck. Rasputina will really like Pandora being surrounded by hordes of relatively low Df models to trigger blasts off of to hit Pandy.
  9. Noooooooo... After that it would surely be Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and Gigantic Battles with a Gazillion Plastic Miniatures. And more Japanese stuff too...
  10. I wish there was a reasonable (like one) maximum number for pictures in a signature. A maximum size for the said picture would also be very nice. It would make the threads easier to browse through when there aren't that many 1700x700 pixel animated gifs of sheep dancing Can Can after every post. Quite a many forums have a rule along these lines. I know that there's the possibility to disable signatures but still, a banner might look nice or someone might have something funny/interesting/useful to say there.
  11. I bought some cheapo large quartz crystals and attached them to the 50mm bases with epoxy. I just have to paint the bases and add some snow to make them perfect. I might even finish them tomorrow. I still have to make a couple more when I get more 50mm bases. They're also heavy and sharp enough to throw at your opponent or at his models if the game's not going your way
  12. This just makes you wonder. When Levi is summoned to the Hollow Waif, and all the Waifs are destroyed, does he appear dressed in drag?
  13. It only affects non-neverborn models. No worries there.
  14. Wasn't expecting that. I thought they might a bit more spirit like for some reason. Nice looking models though. Waif, wife, whatever...
  15. I think Nathan said that a Leve crew box is released at some point. It's just a little hard to imagine what will it consist. With Leve, Waifs, Alyce, Engine and Abominations all in it, it would cost a zillion. Without the Engine the damage potential is a bit poopy, Waifs are also rather essential. Alyce is pretty much the only model the box could barely manage without. Also you need four Aboms to make the Engine. If the Abominations are scrawny enough to come in packs of four like the Gremlins it could look something like this: Leve Waif Engine 4x Abomination It might still be a tad more expensive than rest of the boxes but at least you could demonstrate most of the stuff Leveticus can pull off with it. Of course the boxes aren't exactly starters even though most people call them that so it might just be what chaosobscuros said.
  16. Exactly. It's cheaper to change soulstones to blood counters with Lilith to grow your Tots. If you can manage to play without too many stones. Maturing the young ones is where it gets tough if the opponent isn't Gremlins.
  17. It's not an action, it's an effect Still, with the current errata it seems that it should trigger Link. Now the big question is if the Cuddly Ghost Bear of the Rules Forum decides that Link only triggers on Move actions or also on a push.
  18. It seems that you've got at least one rule wrong. Firstly, because Incite and Pacify aren't spells, the Pandora player can't choose to automatically have his models lose the duels. If the resisting model is winning, he has to cheat the card down or Pandoras card up. Also a model can only be hit by EITHER Incite OR Pacify ONCE per turn, so she should not be able to knock that many wounds off of all your models. Or she will be in the middle of your army on her next turn... She also doesn't get to run around with the push after you fail resisting a spell, she only wins a Casting duel and you lose a Wp duel. She should be burning through her cards and stones like no tomorrow. If she never gets a Black Joker or other small cards, check your opponents deck If she always has big cards in hand, also check your opponents deck. If your always having small cards, check that your opponent has not meddled with your own deck. If she's going through the whole deck she's bound to lose a duel at some point and if she does, she has no way to run away anymore. She can only do Incite and Pacify as long as she keeps winning the duels. I've never seen anyone win every duel they have in the game. Also, keep your models 2,5" away from each other and there's no way she can pull of Project emotions on more that one model at a time. Nicodem and Seamus both have Wp7, that should make it a bit harder for Pandora to pull of her spells/tricks on them as both of you are just as likely to win the Wp vs. Wp duel and you have a small edge against her Ca6. McMourning is a bit worse off. Nicodems Rigor Mortis should make her scared too. It hasn't been clarified yet if the Sorrows can move with Pandora while she's pushing forward with the Fading Memory, though after the errata it seems so. It depends on if the intent of Link is to push to b2b after a Move action or a movement effect. If Pandora has the Doppleganger and Candy/Kade she shouldn't have too many models to activate all in all, unless you are playing big games. She shouldn't be able to "out-activate" your Ressers too much (unless, of course you don't have any of the cheap models like Necropunks or Canine Remains available to you, just proxy if need be). For the price of Candy and Doppleganger, you can have eight Canine Remains. You have a lot of cheap models available to you and if you're not playing Seamus you can just summon the big hitters. The Hanged will also make Pandora tread more carefully. You get one melee strike in and Pandora is pretty much dead with that flip on WP duels. Either that or she is forced to save the soul stones to defend herself from the Hanged. Is there enough terrain on your table? Because for Malifaux there really should be a lot. Houses, forests, hills, walls and all kinds of other stuff. Open fields are a huge advantage to any shooty and spellcasting lists. Stay out of LoS and Pandora can't do that much to you. Oh yeah, if she's having the Sorrows stick to her, target those buggers with blast generating attacks and have Pandy take some wounds. Also remember that Pandora must keep the Sorrows behind her most of the time. She can't move through them and they block LoS.
  19. She shouldn't be that hard to beat if all the players are about equal level. A beginner is quite likely to make mistakes while playing with Pandora. It isn't that hard for Rasputina to ping those blasts of hers on Pandora without worrying about the willpower duels, either from her own models, or yours. Somer's crew will be in trouble with their low willpower though. Of course they have blasts too but aren't as likely to manage doing stuff with them. With a lot of Mosquitoes it's possible to fart Pandora to death though... It all depends a lot on the strategies too. At least with just the crew set Pandora will be screwed easily on Reconnoiter as she only has three non-insignificant models and you need four for full points. And like ispep said, the Gremlins aren't necessarily the perfect first crew. If you have some idea on how to play them you might be able to have fun but they do require a lot of extra models just to be effective/playable. The starter just doesn't cut it.
  20. That's a solid list. It should work fine against most thingies you are going to face. I don't have my book on me at the moment but I think that the Desolation Engine is not a Mercenary, thus it cannot be hired by Victoria. And anyways, it's not of much use without the possiblity to summon more SPA's as it takes a wounds like no tomorrow just by moving around.
  21. Trying to Transposition Pandora is a bit hard. Pandoras willpower is two higher than Lilith's casting and they both can use soulstones. If Pandora wins the WP resist duel, she can push 4" to do nasty stuff or hide. It's better to transposition something next to her, like switching a Sorrow with a Mature Neph, and then kill the Sorrow with Lilith. To get the transposition off close to Pandora means that you'll have to lose a WP duel and take a wound for Pandora being within 12" and every Sorrow within 3" too. So, running a Terror Tot close to make the Transposition easier should not necessarily be done. The Tot will die a quick death. The push after WP duels also makes clobbering pandy to death rather hard too. Fail one test (which is quite likely if you're trying to do it with a Nephilim, also possible with Lilith). If you can't get the first hit in, she'll be running out of your melee range quickly and you'll have to catch her again. He's not Immune to Influence while within 12" of Pandora He is a monster though and extremely hard to kill unless you have something that can kill him in one round. Candy and regeneration will quickly heal him up unless you manage to kill him. Getting a Hanged to hit Pandora at some point would definetely be a game winner though. for the rest of the game for WP duels makes her cry. She will be burning through soulstones just not to fall back from the Terrifying tests.
  22. I prefer metal. Though metal has its problems like chipping paint etc. I think it's easier to paint for some reason and like EricJ said, there aren't as many undercuts. I really despise those. For some reason I also like converting metal models more. There's just something about working the metal... GW did some fine work with the Space Hulk Terminators though.
  23. Sonnia starter with a few extra models is probably a safe bet if you want to try out various types of lists. Maybe Executioner, Fransisco and Nino as extras. That should give you plenty of options for melee, ranged and magic. Ramos is a magic guy but his crew can pack a serious punch in melee too. For Ramos you most likely want the Brass Arachnid totem and maybe Joss and Convict Gunslinger. Going shooty with them is harder. Viktorias are melee beatsticks and they really don't have any cheap options (in soulstones) for models available. Ronin are relatively cheap though and crazy good, so if you go for the Viktorias, get a pack of Ronin too. They have pistols too though they aren't amazing ranged fighters. Resurrectionists and Neverborn are a bit limited on the ranged department but they, especially the Neverborn, have a lot of surprises available. In case you want two crews so you can play with friends who don't have their own yet you could get Viktorias and either of the other two crews you wanted. They're probably somewhat even. Ramos vs. Sonnia might be a bit nasty as Ramos is strictly a caster and Sonnia is an antimagic toolbox.
