Could not find a reference to this, and a new victi..., err, I mean friend has my rule book at the moment. Played a game the other day, and this came up : I activated one on my gremlins, and used "Y'all watch this!!". Rams game up on the attack flip, triggering "Dumb Luck" which doubles the damage. The attack was a moderate success, so I got to flip a single card for damage. Damage came up severe... The base damage on severe with "Y'all watch this!!" is 4 with 2 blasts. Big build up, I know, but here's the question... Is just the damage number doubled by 'dumb luck' , or are the blasts doubled as well, giving me 4 blasts instead of 2? Couldn't find an answer in the rulebook at the time, so we just went with doubling the damage number and not the blasts. This made the most sense rules-wise at the time, although that little nagging voice in the back of my head wanted me to double the blasts as well... :firedevil

So it's a "let's see if I can hit the broad side of a barn" check... Still makes little sense to me, as I personally would not take the shot unless it was clear... Besides, aren't the defensive bonus to the target and the negative flip combined enough of a penalty?

Set up... Large{adult?} Nephilim was engaged in melee with a Gremlin and a Warpig. I attempt to shoot the Nephilim with Som'er Teeth... Why do I have to see if I miss before I even attempt to shoot???????????????????????????????????????????????? This makes as much sense as the Chewbacca defense...

I had a game earlier today{my 2nd}, and one thing came up that still has me scratching my head... Why in the bloody blue blazes do I need top see if I miss my target with a ranged attack BEFORE I see whether or not I hit??!?!?? This makes about as much sense to me as putting a screen door on an elephant's trunk!! Someone... please explain the logic behind this to me, for I are cahnfoozled by dis...

Greetings fellow Wyrdians! 2 questions... !) The only model I have seen so far that I do not like, is the Giant Mosquito totem for Som'er Teeth. It looks to much like a giant wasp to me, and not enough like a mosquito. If I were to scratch build some mosquitos, would they be allowed in tourneys and other officially sanctioned Malifaux events? 2) If the scratch builds are allowed, is it possible to buy the stat cards for the Giant Mosquito totem seperately? Any halp would be much obliged... :notworthy

My screen name is due to playing Warmachine... One of the Mercenary characters in that game )Magnus the Traitor) has an essay 'written' by him in the Hordes : Evolution book. After reading that, I realize that he was actually a righteous dude out to save his kingdom from the cranially incompetent idjits running the place... I started using it as a joke in tourneys, and then it became my screen name everywhere.

Hey Rik, Welcome to Malifaux! Can't you just smell the Wyrdness?!? I gotta agree with dgraz... Grab the rulebook first and give it a read though. This is not to take anything away from Ropetus's novella of imputted data. From what I have read through the book over the last week {just got my rulebook Thursday} that info is spot on! You might get a slightly different opinoion of the factions than what someone else garnered from the background stories. Anywho, welcome! Just remember to keep a lantern lit to help deter the 'night bumps'... [fades off into a Cheshire grin]

I have two major problems with painting my minis... 1) I am grotesquely addicted to plastic & pewter minis!! Malifaux makes game #6!!! (Counting WM & hordes as individual games, that is ) 2) I have a 'Brush-for-Hire' business that is really starting to take off. This leaves me with not enough time to paint my figs, eat, slepp, and do all the other sucky reality-related crud that comes up. But when I do get time, at the risk of sounding more full of it than I truly am, I usually get a compliment or two on the finished product... But after 10 years of miniature painting, one would hope to have some kind of ability and/or aptitude for the brush... Yes/no?
