  1. How do you have a useless spade? Any spade can be useful if combined with a soulstone to cast. I guess a 4 or maybe 5 or less would be useless for the summon but with a soulstone you should risk casting it so you can attempt to get 2 or 3 rezzes. There are always dead things (dogs) around to summon from. I think mortemer is to spade heavy to combine with nico.
  2. Punk Zombies are the shock troops of a Nico list. if you kill enough of his stuff, or he kills enough of yours, the Rogue Necromancy is a killing machine. And you only need 4 corpse counters to get it off!
  3. Another important note is now to declare it 1. activate a model, if that model has a companions within 6" of it you can declare those models to take simultaneous activations. 2. Activate each model declared in the order you want, using each models full activation before activating the next model. 3. After the last model has finished its activation, the opponent gets the next activation and so on.
  4. Killing your own does for corpse counters is only worth it if you are also getting something else out of it (i.e. body part counters from dissection) or if you are really close to being able to summon a nasty thing. Other wise, they will just become corpses when they are to close to Sebastian when he bloody harvests or when they are killed for being such easy targets. I find it is better to make my opponents waste there attacks and actions on killing my dogs. Plus they block charge lines. As to Mortamer, they made him suck less but he still sucks. I have to ditch a spade from my hand (on average, I might only have 2 spades in my hand) to get a corpse counter unless I am lucky. I can summon that one corpse into a punk zombie or what ever, but now I am relying on drawing more spades next turn or relying just on soulstones for future casts. I think it is better to wait for things to die, use the spade that you would have discarded for the corpse counter and than summon 2 things with those 2 spades. There are always enough corpse counters for at least 2 summons, and if not, you should just be paralyzing your enemies instead.
  5. I just got Rising Powers and am very intrigued by the ability of the Lost Love Totem "Pass Beyond." Not many people are talking about it but it seems to match very well with the Dead Rider, as he will gain 3 of those wounds back on his first activation after crossing over into the spirit realm. Plus can be affected by many of the spirit abilities (+cb and +wk...) Any one else using this ability to put a non-spirit into a spirit list? How useful is it? After I play later this week I will let you know my thoughts.
  6. I think you just have to prove that you rule over more pants than he does. Maybe start a pants war and raid his cotton factory?
  7. I agree with Zethal on Mort. He is pretty week considering Sebastian is 1 soulstone cheaper and just as good at killing or better. Plus he can res dogs well and can heal undead if he has some body parts. Corpse counters never seem to be a problem for me, their mindless and walk right up to you.
  8. I like dogs better than necropunks for starting out. Dogs have many things going for them 1. They are fast fast fast. 6/9 is way better than 4/6 even if they can leap. Leaping requires you to flip a mask of 5/6 (dont have the book right here) or use a card. Not usually worth it and not reliable. 2. Dogs can active in a pack if you have Sebastian or Mortimer. 3. -2df if you have 2 of them in melee means you can activate 2, move them into melee, activate Sebastian/McMourning/Other killing person and just kill stuff. Or lure things into melee, attack in turn. Being able to charge as a (1) action when something has take 1wd is also a cool thing. 4. I think you will often if not always take 2 of them. They are cheap, fast, do cool stuff, and turn into corpse counters. Necropunks are slighter more expensive, slightly slower, do cool stuff at the expense of cards and 2 of them are not as good as a punk zombie (which is 1 cheaper than to necropunks). I think necropunks are for Mortimer and Nicodem to summon in round 3 or 4 to get to objectives/return objective to your home. -Kyleb
  9. Thanks. I will give it another shot (over and over, making funny faces where needed). I will try out a canine pack (my friend and i are proxying a lot until we decided what to play) and the hanged, maybe some belles. That seems like it will at least be fun, whether or not I win
  10. Fellow and Future undead friends, I am struggling against a Pandora player, who pretty much slaughters me to the last model in 2-3 turns every game. His strategy goes like this. Doppelganger copies fast movement and emotional truama. Moves within 12" of my models late in activation. Activates sorrows who link to Pandora. Activates Pandora. Incite and Pacifies his own crew that has moved forward, auto failing the duals so that she moves 4" forward. Moves across the board so that she and the doppleganger are within 12" of my crew. Casts the spell that makes me have -1 flip to my WP duals on someone he know will fail it because he will cheat it and put a soulstone into it. Incites and pacifies my whole crew (which I can no longer cheat because I am at -1 with at least 2 of them). Puts soulstones into all the ones that matter, does 2 WD to everyone, or at least a lot of them. Than casts self loathing on my master (any of them) and my failed dual because i am at -1 flip makes me take wounds plus the ability to damage myself with the attack. He than retreats using incite/pacify on units to be out of my range. It seems that to matter how spread out I get, or how far away I stay or how many soulstones and cheated fate cards I use she just has to many abilities and range for me to do anything about it. She can do 6-8 damage to any model she wants, including my master because it is WD not damage and I cannot cheat it with -1 flip. If Pandora/Sorrows/Doppelganger are not enough, he still has Candy and Kade sitting around to kill anyone left. The advice I can find seems to be lure and kill sorrows. I would love to do this, but even when I do, Pandora just kills everyone left. Anyone have any more specific ideas?
  11. The Hanged is a wondering companion for him as well. Trail of Fear giving minuses to Wp and the Hanged being able to do so much with Wp duals makes them a good team. Add in all the Terrifying and it can be scary.
  12. If you want to summon a bunch, just take McMourning and a Canine. Start them in base contact and kill it with Dissection, getting you 3 body parts plus the corpse counter generated. That's a flesh construct right there.
