  1. Hey all, freeplay and demo going on in cambridge MA ! ill be there with some crews for people who want to try things out. Pandemonium Books & Games 4 Pleasant Street Cambridge, MA 02139 617-547-3721 Time: 12-4 date: 7/18/10 its right off the red line in boston central square stop. Intersection of Mass ave and Pleasant st. Peace AZ :nicodem
  2. I suggest that you find a henchman in your area and see if they have any of the outcasts that you can test drive for a few games. The viks are the most strait forward but their options are somewhat limited. Levi and sommer are the other two but they are both very hard to play and have very specific models. I think that if your looking for some options i would go with another faction, and buy a few mercs and add them to your force. Then if you like how they are playing you can pick up the viks and go to town with an outcast only force. ( i say viks because they are the only ones who can hire the mercenaries that can go with other factions.)
  3. I have to agree, use ramos in your first games to get the basics down. Also read up on the errata for Levi and go through the boards here and read up on him. His tules are not strait forward and can cause some confusion. Errata can be found on weird sketch's signature
  4. It would carry over but Levi isn't summoned he is "placed" btb with the hollow waif ( I only used summon to illustrate the point of no extra activation)
  5. No Levi would not activate again because he is summoned after the activation phase. Models only resolve effects during the closing phase I'm as sure as I can be without being a Marshall that they cannot activate during that phase
  6. Yes for eternally shackled the wording has been changed from summon to place. With regards to errata check wyrd sketch's signature. He keeps links to the two errata docs it (plus the FAQ)
  7. i actually think that your SPA flesh looks good. Sometimes its a better idea to take the idea and do it in your own way like you did with their flesh so no worries. Also bases look good and im diggin the conversions.
  8. I have to agree with Timelapse. Ramos and McMourning box sets are not good right out of the box. They are also a little more complicated since they need add ons to be viable forces. Sonnia is a great starter box set for demos as is any of the guild boxes. A few recomendations for other demo box sets are: Rasputina, seamus ( though he is a pretty powerful), lilith, and The Viktorias good match ups are Lady J vs lilith Tina Vs Sonnia Seamus Vs Perdita Nico Vs Marcus ( little more advanced) As far as how to run demos, sometimes its best to just take a master and two generic grunts and let people go to town on each other on a two by two board. a more advanced demo idea is box set vs box set on the standard 3x3 board. peace out AZ :nicodem
  9. Hey wall i got the go ahead from the wife and i can rent a zip car and still have 50 or so miles before they charge me extra so ill be there as of right now
  10. Lucidicide makes alot of good points with regards to how to play a "good faction" Lady justice is an option as well. She is in fact a hero of the people and in the fluff the gulid guardsmen and peon police officers respect her and look to her as a beacon of hope and justice (guess thats why her name is lady justice hu hehehe). So the option of Perdita or Lady justice leading a crew of hired "police" officers is a very good idea. The guild may be an oppressive group trying to control an uncontrollable town but there are certainly those who shine as a symbol of hope and justice who will persuade the neutral ( guardsmen) to be good and do what is right.
  11. After you fix it, stick it in the freezer to harden it too. Bending metal messes with the molecules and freezing them will help to sort of realign them giving it a little more strength
  12. that sounds like a cool list shekbo, ill have to try it ( all i need is some juju). whats a game with it usually look like?
  13. Probably not gonna happen, selling model bits is a pretty big step for a company and I'm pretty sure wyrd ain't there yet (privateer •••••, that other company only recently got it off the ground) But sculpting voodoos isn't all that difficult. I know a coupla guys on the forums have sculpted some really good ones you could pm them or see if they take commisions. If you pm me I can see what I can do too, they don't look too difficult to make. You could also post for a how to or somethin like that.
  14. You swap out totems if they are same point cost otherwise you can just scrap the totem for the stones, also you do not have to bring two masters.
  15. I have to agree that Hans has alot of good points. He has won me more games than misaki has. Find some hard cover and run interfereance for him and he's a golden child. And if you activate him last you have a good chance of getting off head shot. Having a 3 on weak damage is an excelent stat ( given the crit hit) usually that's reserved for power hitters. The only not great stat is his moderate damage ( and his cb is Meh). But he has potential for great defense and his buffs usually give him the edge in any given game. While 7-8 points is alot Hans actually fits that point range profile if you look at other models in that point range: rusty Alyce, hanged, Santiago ect(cept for Betty who is uber awsome).
  16. Yup same bat list different bat masters
  17. careful ITS A TRAP! but its actually a scrap you pick which master to use
  18. Trying to convince my wife it's a good idea to let me go to this AND my gencon trip , our anniversary isn't till the third after all...
  19. I just started playing levi. I dont use models i dont own so i haven't been using SPAs or Engines. He works very well with the undead too. You dont need a renewable powerhouse of destruction with the one man apocalypse . my 25 list has been: Belle 2 punk zombies 1 necro punk alyce Its done pretty well in the few games ive played. Ive messed around with some of the other undead too. I have had a good play experiance and the durability of all those undead goodies has been well used ( slow to die and hard to wound are great). I love running a necro punk in with leap, flurrying, then opponent hits him and rusty alyce reactives him and he flurries again! i know some opponents who are used to the Levi set up with SPAs and Engines and they get a little confused when there not out there.
  20. Dont underestimate debuffs. Most debuffs revolve around will power. Slow and paralyze can be devastating to her. Many crews have access to the debuffs, even a - flip on attack or defense can hurt her. and if you can get her to flee thats golden ( as has been said before) Also you dont have to kill her (even if you have assassinate) just occupy her. first round spread out she probably wont get to you, and her team may split up. next turn if you cant hinder her properly try and debuff her. Throw something at her to occupy her and hope you can last the rest of the turns. The nice thing about malifaux is there is almost always a way ( unlike alot of other games i played) you just have to get kinda creative.
