  1. Yeah, I had to pin everything! I'm still half expecting it to fall apart, even though I sunk those pins deep into the body.
  2. Tale of the Skirmish Painters Month 1: The first month I almost finished the Lady J crew, but because of the Rugby world cup I lost all motivation to paint, (48 games of rugby will do that to me) but now I'm back on a roll! Lady Justice and her Boys: Last month I painted these fellas Scales of Justice and Peacekeeper: This month I'm working on Sonnia and her Witch Hunters, And I'll try to post some individual shots too.
  3. I'll try to get some WIP shots up soonish, but have started Lady J, hopefully I'll have the Judge done this month too.
  4. Sounds good man, I'm keen. Got all my guild girls I need to get some paint on.
  5. I'll be doing my Lady Justice box, and a executioner to start. Although I may add some more if I paint faster than normal.
  6. Sign me up please, although I registered on warseer I'd like to post my stuff here too. I'll be finally getting around to doing my guild.
  7. Awesome, love those houses man. And it;'s great to see pics in a BR as well.
  8. Great report, cool little story man.
  9. I'd like to second Maelstrom, the exchange rates pretty good at the moment and free postage on orders of 10 pounds or more is sweet as. Also if they have it in stock they send it really fast, one order of mine took 6 days to Wellington from the UK, although if it's out of stock it can take a very long time.
  10. Yeah, I'm gonna start mixing it up a bit more, I used these ones as they are my only painted crew at the moment. My friends only had a couple of games, so he's still working out some of the tricks n stuff for McMourning.
  11. As the Judge carefully scanned the area Lady Justice strained to be unleashed, she needed action, she yearned for it. Judge could feel her impaitence and calmly spoke without turning "Peace my lady, as soon as we see the necromancer we can move, untill then we need to stay concealed". "I know!" she snapped back, Then more quietly "I know my Judge, please tell me when you see any movement". Nino was the first to see the enemy, "here they come boss", he exclaimed excitedly. The Lady lept into action, ordering Nino up a tower to a good vantage point and the Death Marshalls to circle around the crossroad, she called for the Judge and his executioner to follow her towards a large factory building. Her mind was racing as she heard Nino yell some undead were advancing towards the crossroad, she told the Executioner to head them off as the Judge followed her at a sprint into the shadow of the building. As the Judge panted with the effort of keeping pace with her, he asked "My Lady, why not follow the Executioner, he may need our assistance?", "Because, that's not where the necromancer is" she replied. They heard the stattaco rattle of Nino's rifle, and his curses as his shots fell short. Before they could react they saw a flash of green light from around the corner, without a pause they both raced around, and almost ran right into the arms of a large, misshapen monstrosity. The Lady reacted on instinct, drew her greatsword and proceeded to neatly slice the monster apart. As the pieces fell away a figure was revealed from behind it. the Judge saw the figure clearly, from the surgical attire, to the manic grin, "McMourning!" the Judge exclaimed "Don't move, you're under arrest for practising necromancy!" "Oh I havn't just been practising" McMourning cackled, as a Punk zombie leapt onto the Judge, ruinning him through with his pair of katana. Justice heard this, and screamed with rage and anguish. She moved with a grace and speed leant by a need for vengeance as she beheaded the Punk, and advanced swiftly on McMourning. "Now now my Lady, there's no need to over react is there?" McMourning said, as he hurridly backed away. In a second she was on him, her sword buryed in his chest, when out of the corner of her eye she saw the Executioner go down and his assailents head towards her. Though it pained her to do so she withdrew the sword from McMourning and set about butchering the Punk zombie and the misguided "human" with it. When she turned back to McMourning he was gone, with a cry of anger she headed back to the prone form of the Judge. Discovering that he still breathed The Lady chided him gently, "You need to stop doing this my Judge, one day it will be the end of you, and I don't think I could survive that" coughing weakly the Judge replied "My Lady, I think you could probably survive anything" Nino and the Marshalls arrived soon after, one of the Marshalls carrying a small box that they took off an ally of McMourning's, before they put him in a pine box for safekeeping. "leave that with me and search the area for McMourning" The Lady ordered the two Death Marshalls. As they ran off to carry out her task Nino helped her carry the Judge back to their wagon, "I hope the Governor knows what he's doing, making us run around Malifaux on Sonnia's scavenger hunt" The Lady said, the Judge replied her in a hoarse whisper "I hope it's not a fools errand my Lady, it's far too expensive for that outcome". Right, We played a 35ss game, I had the Lady Justice box set, plus Nino, an executioner and the scales of justice, with a pool of 8 stones. My stategy was slaughter, and I took two schemes, Hold out which I announced and eye for an eye, which I didn't announce. My friend Blair had, McMourning, two Punk Zombies, a Nurse, Bete Noire, Mortimer and a canine remains, with a pool of 8 stones as well. His strategy was Recon, and schemes were, army of the dead, announced and hold out unannounced. Turn 1: Initiative: Ressurectionists McMourning, the canine, both punks and the nurse headed across the field to be near the big building on the west side of the area.Mortimer went south aiming to skulk around and maybe raise some more undead. Lady J, the scales, judge and the executioner headed north towards the big building, pretty much the opposite corner from the enemy, Nino ran to the base of a tower, and the two marshalls headed east around some rocks to head off mortimer. Turn 2: Initiative: Ressurectionists McMourning, the canine and a punk ran west behind the big building, the nurse and other punk headed south towards my guys while mortimer kept heading south and stopped in the cover of some trees. Lady J, the scales and the Judge kept on going north ending just around the corner from the enemy out of sight. The executionerran to the opposite corner, out of sight of the punk and nurse, nino climbed the tower and got into a good firing position while the marshalls moved closer to mortimer, but stayed out of charge range. Turn 3: Initiative: Ressurectionists Mcmourning did his bit, killing his canine to get enough parts to gain fast and make a construct, then moved back a little bit. Lady J activated her onslaught trigger and charged the construct, I ended up trigger it twice and chopping the construct to pieces, Bete popped out of his corpse and I used her melee expert attack to one hit kill her, although Blair got the spell off to bury her. Blair then charged the lady with his punk, but missed and killed (again) for it's trouble. I tried to shoot the punk in the middle with nino, but was out of range, so tried to shoot mortimer, but he was out too. Blair moved mortimer towards the punk and nurse in the middle. I then moved the executioner out and into melee range of the punk, who then activated and flurried my executioner to death, I could only manage 5 wds eith his slow to die, so couldn't even get love the job off. I moved both marshalls up and took a couple of shots at mortimer, taking a couple of wounds off him. Turn 4: Initiative: Ressurectionists McMourning activated and carved up the Judge, with bete popping out of his corpse. I then activated Lady J, got her onslaught spell off and proceeded to chop both bete and Mcmourning up, Blair again got the burying spell off on bete. Blair then charged one of my marshalls with mortimer, flipping the black joker on his attack. I then tried get finish the job cast by the DM in melee with mortimer, but failed to cast. Blair moved his remaing punk towards the Lady, while I charged with my other DM but could only cause a couple of wds on mortimer. The nurse then moved to support the punk. Turn 5: Initiative: Guild Lady J charged the punk and nurse, easily killing both. and Blair forgot to put bete back on the table. Mort attacked a DM, vausing a couple of wounds, I then did Pine box with the unwounded one, flipping the red joker, while Blair flipped an ace. We pretty much called it there. VPs: I had 6 for slaughter and my announced hold out, while Blair had 1 for his unannounced hold out. I'm sure i've forgotten a couple of points in the game, as I remember killing Bete Noire about 3 times, with Blair getting the bury spell off every time. My MVP was definatly Lady J, seeing as how she was the only model of mine to actually kill anything! TBH my luck was pretty sickening in this game, I flipped a load of high masks whenever I needed them with the Lady, getting onslaught and veangence of almost everytime I attacked with her. I started to feel quite bad by the end of the game, as everything I did worked out, (see pine box for instance) while everything Blair did just turned out really terrible, except for initiative, he won that almost every turn. So in effect I'm not taking much out of this game as the result was too skewed to really learn anything from it IMHO.
  12. IIRC I thought Jack Daw was the name they gave the corpse in the highest branches of the hanging tree, in one of the small pieces of fluff from the rule book. But I could be wrong, havn't read my rule book for a while.
  13. For anyone who hasn't seen the thread in the news and reviews forum, the peacekeeper is realeased next month. Also in the thread is a release schedule for the next few months, and pics of the new canine remains. Everythings looking pretty choice! Here's a link for anyone intrested. http://www.wyrd-games.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10872
  14. Cool story, it does sound like you guys had a good game. And it's good to see fellow guilders winning games...
  15. I like the change, when we started I thought it was strange that the black joker trumped all but the red didn't. It wasn't untill we had read the rulebook a few times that we realised that you couldn't use the red.
  16. Thats awesome, I love the little stories you can get out of these games. I havn't tried using it yet, most of the games I've played have been a little small to use it, but if I can jack up a bigger game soon I'm definatly gonna try it out.
  17. I was pleasently surprised when I first played Sonnia, I didn't think Id like her that much as I'm more of a crash n bash kinda player. But I have to say she's probably my fav, of the three guild masters, and I just love those little hooded fullas. The addition of the ranged attack cuddles the flame burst a bit, but it shouldn't be too hard to work around, and as Angel of Menoth said, once you get close you don't really need it so much anyways.
  18. I've got all the guild stuff so far, so I do a fair amount of mixing and matching. But the stand outs, for me so far at least are the witchling stalkers. I love those little fellas, they always do really well for me and my mates end up targeting them first alot of the time now, which gives me more time to move the bigger guys into good positions.
  19. Some people use card sleeves, but I've just laminated my cards and use a whiteboard marker on them, just use a rag or even your finger to wipe the wounds off at the end of the game.
  20. Awesome man, love the way you re-wrote the song. Probably, no definatly the funniest and best one I've read so far. Great to see you took Lillith down as well.
  21. Yeah it's pretty good, I havn't been able to get that spell off yet, always been flipping low when I've tried. But I do like the +2 Wp, I havn't had anyone fail a morale duel yet (touch wood). With the primordial magic, well who doesn't want more control cards?
