  1. My order arrived 2 days ago. I've been too busy reading the incredible book to remember this thread.
  2. I use Perdita and Sonnia the most with strong Sonnia leanings.
  3. Uhm, 2 Nightmare Justice boxes, Alt Lady Justice, Alt Sonnia, Book 3
  4. I played Mass Effect through 6 times myself, but I find those are exceptions. I certainly didn't play Dawn of War or Warcraft 3 more than once.
  5. This thread really hits home for me. The gaming community here in a rural part of the US(Vermont) is fickle and stubborn at the same time. GW is the big giant company in the pond, and at a time all that got played here was 40k. I've never been a massive fan of that universe, so it really didn't interest me. I had 2 fantasy armies, but no opponents. Due to this, I turned to computer games for my entertainment and I got hung up with games like WoW, and Counter Strike, and Everquest before them. My Empire and High Elf armies were ebayed off. However, once I finished college I moved back into the miniatures scene. I went to the LGS looking for fantasy players and there were none. I was introduced to Warmachine at the LGS and the owner said there was a small player base, but the game is growing in popularity. A few of the other Warmachine players were also 40k players, and that was their first passion, so they tried to get me into it, but nothing really has held my interest there.(Though I bought IG, Orks, Eldar, and recently Dark Eldar). A small splinter group of miniature enthusiasts broke out of that group and decided to try other games like Pulp-City, Helldorado, Infinity, Uncharted Seas, and even Malifaux. It wasn't so much being fickle as it was exploring fun new games. Though that got quickly out of control due to the amount of money we were investing, and we could barely remember all the different rules from game to game. The group eventually dispersed though as people moved away due to the rough economy and went else where. Now there are 2-3 of us left, and we rarely get together anymore due to work and family conflicts. Before they left it was a once a week get together, but now we are lucky if we get together once a month plus time at the LGS which is an hour away from where I live. I quickly found myself with the following sitting on the shelf: Warhammer Fantasy Dark Elves and Empire, 40k Dark Eldar, Uncharted Seas Shroud Mages, Warmachine Mercenaries, Hordes Trolls(my wife's army), Helldorado Westerners, Pulp City Villains, Infinity Ariadna, Firestorm Armada and 4 Malifaux factions(Guild, Rezzers, Arcanists, Outcasts). Now that I have a son, I realize that these 600+ miniatures will never be able to be painted by my hands, so I had to make the hard decision to reduce down to 3 games. The games I chose are Warhammer Fantasy(just keeping my Dark Elves), Infinity(Ariadna), and all of my Malifaux. I figure over the next 2 to 3 years I can get the 150 or so miniatures I don't have painted yet finished. Luckily my Dark Elves are fully painted.(Except for the new storm of magic dragon I bought). I do feel like I am betraying my friends by getting rid of Heldorado and 40k, each of their favorite games, but I told them if they want me to play, provide me an army, which they can since they collect more than one faction. I don't think fickleness is a part of a gamers decision to bounce from game to game. I think it's more mentally like video games. A lot of video games I beat, I don't revisit down the road, nor do I watch the same movie over and over again unless it's really good and then that gets old after awhile. People are looking for the next new thing.
  6. The Molly box, Rotten Belles, Sybelle, Dead Doxy, Necrotic Machine or totem of choice. That's all she can really take. Have fun.
  7. Warhammer Fantasy: Dark Elves Infinity: Ariadna Malifaux: (Arcanists, Guild, Ressurectionists, Outcasts) Warhammer Invasion
  8. I'd like some info on Perditas avatar, and maybe a count or list of what each faction gets out of this book?
  9. And I'm sure you meant "Belle" instead of showgirl.
  10. Interesting. I was hoping to get more information about what else was in the book. *pulls up a seat and continues to hit refresh*
  11. Maybe the Krampus will bring them to you for Christmas.
  12. Not till November or beyond. They have posted their release dates out to October.
  13. I think you were too biased towards the Neverborn. I agree with you on measuring. I think Warhammer Fantasy has offered some universal ideas about allowing everything to be premeasured. In my experience, I'd rather lose games to sound tactics, not because I was a half an inch too short. The FAQ and Errata doesn't bother me, it cleared most of the issues up, and most new games have playtesters who can't possibly dream up every possible scenario that the masses can. Welcome to the game. I understand your frustration with the larger games and time investment, but the miniature market has recently exploded with small scale skirmish games, and this is just one of many that I play(Helldorado,Infinity,Mordheim,Uncharted Seas). GW gets way to expensive to start any more. You also have to understand that not everyone is a gamer like myself and it sounds like you lean more towards gamer than hobbyist. There are a lot of painters out there who also do not play games but purchase miniatures to paint. Painting is secondary to me, and I am feeling how secondary it is right now, as I have slaved over the painting table over the last 5 months getting my 10k+ points Dark Elf army complete for Warhammer Fantasy. Boy, would I love to just paint up a Malifaux starter real quick. It would not take me more than a month to paint to a table top standard. Later, Seamus from Vermont
  14. Well then, I think I will be getting a Austringer.
  15. I have trouble believing that Deliver Orders does not need LoS. If you read the card, it says Weapon:Raptor does not need LoS and Ignores Cover, implying when making attacks with the Raptor, you do not need LoS. Deliver Orders is a spell, not a Raptor strike, and it does not specifically say it ignores LoS, so I think you do need Line of Sight.
  16. True, the Death Marshals and Samael seem to reflect that theme as well. Only thing that is really off from the first book is the Witchling Stalkers.
  17. Samael is considered a touvh overpowered in my group. Run him close to Sonnia for Advanced Counter Spell, look for flaming bullets, then perform rapid fire, and watch that Ice Golem melt away in one turn. Use the Stalkers as bait for the Ice Golem so Samael does not have to move. He also has some control capability as well with his spells, which I must admit I never use.
  18. At the moment nothing seems to fit with them thematically. We have a very diverse set of themes, similar to Arcanists. Our themes are: Western (Ortegas, Guild Guard stuff) Constructs(Hoffman) Witch Hunters (Sonia,Antimagic stuff, using forbidden magic in our work) Undead Hunters(Lady J, Undead Hunters, bring rest, delving in the secrets of Necromancy but forbidden to practice) Elite Division: I don't have the book, but I see these gus like the organization Hellboy was a part of. Occult Division. So far they have a Guild Secretary that leads a beast and construct.
  19. Yup, also spelling fail and my phone messes up editing, so let us try berserkers, not bezerkers.
  20. Yeah those Ironclad Dwarves were full of fail. Not really loving the bezerkers either, though I'm not fond of the GW slayer unit as well.
  21. Ill probably wait for a few more sculpts, but metros have limited infiltration and limited camo option, so could most likely be on your side of the board. They are also linkable, so volume of fire should deal with camo and such. They are also AVA: Total in the French list and super cheap. That is why I would like to have at least 10.
  22. I wonder if Elite Division will be the same concept as the government team Hellboy works with.
  23. Yup, everything looks great. I actually had to stop myself from getting Nicodem as a 2nd Rezzer Master due to the new stuff coming out and the high price to buy all the Undead you need for him. If I did that, my wife would poison me in my sleep. I guess I will just stick with the Guild for now(non constructs), a few choice purchases from the Rezzers(Molly!), and man those Friekorps look like awesome! I also have to concern myself with keeping up with Warhammer Invasion, building my Infinity Rapid Response French list, and Helldorado as well.
  24. Those must be the new Metros huh? I'm glad I decided on the French Sectorial list as the list to collect! I need 10 of them...
