  1. "Seishin are created whenever something dies close to Kirai and have so many uses with her" This is from the Malifaux website talking about Kirai. So I guess they either have to change the wording on the card or change the website. It would be cheaper for them to change the website *grin*

I enjoyed the games I played up there vs a Kirai and Raspy (in a wide open field).. but besides the hiccup getting going and the lack of terrain the players were all friendly and the games were good (even the Raspy wide open killing field) And I really enjoyed the diverse selections I was seeing. I was ready to just pass on the tournie if I saw tons of dreamers or pandora's and I didn't see one! It was very refreshing.. Hopefully the GenCon tournies will have that nice relaxed, not a ton of dreamers or pandora's, sort of games.
  3. I would associate it with Warmachine more than Warhammer but it unfortunately does seem to be heading that way. And it's seems to be expected as tournaments and more competitiveness play grows. Kind of like growing pains.
  4. I'll be around all weekend. So if you want to get a game in let me know. I will be trying to get into the event on Saturday but if I can't I'll be up for open play.
  5. I think that right there is the way it is supposed to happen.. a successful attack means ALL the effects of the attack, triggers, blasts and not just the damage.
  6. I like the spirit Kirai.. That's a pretty good idea I might have to steal for my list. Or maybe save it for when Alt Kirai comes out!
  7. Yes, spells count as Magic. I believe contain power is just master.. loading up the pdf rules manual for exact pages.
  8. Plus, LCB was a brand new model. NE Teddy and Justice are alt models that people have had for a long time. Less incentive to pick them up to replace what you already have.
  9. Well for concepts you can read over the fluff and that gives you some good idea's. Also for most of the guild you could look into westerns for some good concepts and idea's.

  11. Not to derail the thread any more but at this point I think the cards is a nice idea but the PDF's needs to be the standard for stats. Just because of what might be minor updates to cards here and there. Otherwise people have to buy new cards often or have an ongoing card swap program. Just my 2 cents.
  12. It's your figures. Feel free to paint them how ever you want. 1. The Death Marshals are kind of like rangers that got physically corrupted by the Necromancy they are trained to fight. 2. I don't think they have standard issued uniforms. It seems like they are the western marshals/cowboys.. each has their own style. Mostly dusty and old. 3. Lady J is never in a uniform in the fluff if I remember right.. I think her only purpose is to fight. And the judge.. I think the same thing.
  13. Maybe we need someone to do a side by side compare of Rising powers V1 and Rising Powers V2. I think I have a V1 but if I can find a V2 I'll see what I can see

  16. Yeah.. Blasts.. magical blasts will eat them up pretty quick. I don't have my rules manual with me.. but I assume the blast could kill them but the beacon can bring them back. Just more damage to Kirai when that happens right?
  17. I have just picked up my second Shikhome since now I've gotten better at keeping the first one alive and being in a good spot to get the second one out. But for the longest time I ran one and just resummoned it as it was killed.
  18. There are plenty of special's that give an advantage to one side or the other which is why I would expect those not to show up in a competitive environment. I could see dangerous terrain being used more though.. But otherwise I like to use them to get us out of the "prepairing for the next tourney" mindset.
  19. yeah, I was more focused on the beacon ability. I use the seishin to help power her other abilities but I didn't know if there was something I was missing about trying to keep them alive with the beacon that was pretty important to something other than the damage shield or keeping them alive for later use.
  20. I'm still trying to get my head around it as well and the only thing that I can come up with is that it allows her to keep her damage shunts around. Kiria puts up beacon when she thinks she is going to get attacked, gets hit, passes it to a Seishin, it sucks up the hit, it dies, Kiria takes 1 WD and gets the shield back. Is that the only big use of that ability?
  21. I was curious about how people play their games. In almost all the battle reports I've read, the games I've played and, of course, the few tournies I've played in special terrain and events have never been used. So I'm curious is to how many people do use them or is it a "nice idea" but not practical since there is a growing level of competitiveness to this game and people tend to play more in a tournie mind-set and not a really casual "let's play the story" mind-set. At least as I have seen. Our group has been using the special terrains/events every once in a while and they tend to lead to some colorful games for sure. Thoughts?

  24. My friend runs Snow and silent one. Snow really does help speed up the crews and if your opponent doesn't have a good magic offense it can be a pain to get rid of.
  25. For Seamus I would only take the dog if I needed a delivery system for Bette, which against most lists is a likely hood. I don't plan to run dogs with Seamus, I'll stick to Belle's and Night Terrors for objective grabbers.
