  1. Its a GCT Studios figure called the puppetmaster -part of a starter set for the Cult of Yurei
  2. Couple of pictures of my collodi stand-in. reSorry about quality, taken on my phone.
  3. Sephiroth. Yeah they are a wee bit shiny -they had a coat of gloss and a couple of sprays of matt. Was going to do another layer of the matt but it started to go cloudy on the male gs so I stopped and touched up instead. Checks were all done freehand, I wanted to try something new that would make them stand out -there's a first time for everything!
  4. Where are you based? Sure that if you tried asking on the trading forum or the miniatures pages there are folks about who didn't put it on the figure and have it spare. I have the piece as never attached it , but am in the UK.
  5. Great write ups. Didn't play you at the tournament but hopefully at the next one.........
  6. Gremlinnete arrived safely. Mint condition and well packed. Many thanks
  7. There was a thread ages ago about discarding cards from your hand (where for example a spell requires you to discard two cards or suffer an effect). The ruling (I think it was Ratty) was that you discard the two together and the opponent does not need to see the one underneath the top one. In the case quoted the card underneath was the black joker, so the opponent did not know it had gone to the discard pile.
  8. Seamus suffers 5 wounds so goes down to 7 remaining. If he was then hit by a strike that did 7 points of damage he would go down to 1 wound (the 7th is ignored) BUT if the 7 wounds was delivered as 6 wounds from 1 strike (also taking him down to 1 wound and then the 7th wound came from a seperate strike then he would die. So yes if he had 2 or more wounds remaining at the start of any turn then he would need to be hit by 2 attacks (or rather receive wounds from 2 seperate sources)to be sure of killing him that turn.
  9. Peter Pig do a ruleset called War in the age of magic (I think). No idea what its like, but they do a range of 15mm gnomes, complete with tall pointy hats, including snail riders and gnomes with fishing rods! They also do Orcs, Elves, dwarves and arabs with flying carpets.
  10. Thanks to DKS for organising and to Frank for the venue
  11. Not presuming anything -just going on what you said about playing him 'almost all the time'
  12. I play McMourning a lot and have had good success against the neverborn. Last time he was out in competition he beat the dreamer/chompy fairly easily. I obviously don't know how you prefer to play but you say you bring von schill almost all the time and use the dead rider a lot. I am not convinced about dead rider and have virtually stopped using him. As for von schill - I have owned him for ages and never fielded him yet (both of these are personal opinions/preferences). Point is that no model should be an auto-include and taking either (or both) of these is a big points investment.
  13. Are you channeling the restless spirit of Calmdown?
  14. I have used them maybe 20+ times and would recommend them (hopefully that hasn't just jinxed it!). I think there maybe one occasion where an item was out of stock, they sent the rest and then followed on in a couple of days. Delivery usually pretty speedy, but can be up to about a fortnight.
  15. It is usually temp/humidity problem, but couple of years ago I had a can from GW that frosted everything. Ended up taking it back to store and they replaced it. Manager (who was a friend) told me unofficially that there had been a bad batch that had got out, but they weren't officially allowed to say that. Can't imagine why anyone would want to do it deliberately. But if you did then it is more likely to happen if you spray a thick coat. If you don't want to do it then much better to do several really light coats, you just got to be patient and remember that it took ages to paint the model so don't mess up the last stage.
  16. Ah gotcha! I play a lot of ressers so there tends to be a graverobber around most of the time (and nothing says the graverobber/scavenger has to be on your side).
  17. Surely Blessings of desolation gets round that as it specifically states that the model does not drop any counters - the SPA is summoned before the killed model is removed from play. So Levi could activate, cast blesssings on other model(s) in his crew and then die. If the other model(s) then activated and killed an enemy model and got the trigger off they could still create a new SPA. Edit -and the model killed does not need to be a construct - could even be a spirit.
  18. Levis v3 card states that blessings of desolation requires you to kill an 'enemy defender' so I am not sure how you can get an SPA? Far as I can see there is no spell or ability that allows you to get an SPA out of killing a friendly model -got to be an enemy or a counter.
  19. If you are talking about the one whose dress touches the ground (as opposed to the other two where the tab only joins at the feet) then there is a lot of metal to get through and you will need to make several goes with the wire cutters. You will need to grip the figure hard and exert a lot of pressure on the cutters. If you have access to a fine toothed saw (bone saw) it is much better for this sort of work, although the wire cutters are excellent for other models with far less model/flash contact. As said above, take the time to find flush cut cutters or you will have a lot of follow up sanding.
  20. You never HAVE to take the red Joker. You MUST always take the black Joker though (even if you flip both jokers by some chance). If you have a negative flip and you flip the red joker as one of the cards then you can choose to take it. This is an exception to the rule that on a negative flip you must take the lowest value.
  21. Can Von Schill (or any other model) simply stand on the counter?
  22. Thanks guys, thats clearer. I think what confused me a bit is the mercenaries rule on p72 which seems to say that you can hire mercs but the ones in your faction don't count towards the 2 model rule. I was assuming that they were still being hired as mercs.
  23. Sorry, mate, don't follow that - the rules say (p72 of the manual) that you can hire up to 2 mercenaries from another faction but then say 'Mercenaries from the players chosen faction do not count towards this total' . Can't find any rule that says mercenaries lose the mercenary trait if they are of the same faction. Anyway, If they aren't mercenaries then the viks cant hire them -and couldn't hire any of the models that come in their box.
