  1. A barbarian from a company I can't remember, possibly Maurauder but who knows. I was 10 and in Virgin with my mum, saw all the toy soldiers and promptly wet myself with excitement. My mum, being of the arty variety, bought me some paints and some assorted miniatures and so began my life-long obsession with little metal men. Sadly I have no idea where that barbarian went. First Malifaux mini I painted was Rasputina, about 15 years on from that day, needless to say my skills have improved somewhat!
  2. Awesome crews man and some very creative ideas. Well done sir!
  3. What I find strange is that the totem seems to have travelled forward in time, stolen the avatar's hat, taken it back and is now mocking Seamus with it.
  4. Finished Avatar Seamus tonight (still needs varnished though) and thought I'd share a group shot of him with his other incarnations.... ... couldn't resist the green skin.
  5. We had this thread a few years ago, I'd trying to remember.... (could always search but, meh). Anyway, these are my thoughts.... Perdita - Salma Hayek (Penelope Cruz!? Really!?) Lady J - Christina Hendricks (gargle.....) Sonnia - Sigourney Weaver (although she may be a bit aged now...) Helena Bonham-Carter? Hoffman - ??????? Lucius - Hugh Laurie (Genius casting there OP!) Seamus - Sam Rockwell McMourning - Sam Rockwell or David Tennant Nicodem - Christopher Lee Kairai - ???????? Molly - If only Zoey Deschanel could act.... plenty of hot young things to fill Molly's role though. Ramos - Gary Oldman 'Tina - I think Amy Acker would be great, she can do ice-cold no bother (Illyria in Angel S5) Marcus - Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Collette - Alison Brie, because she should always dress like Collette! Also, she does 'cheeky' very well. Kaeris - ??????? Lilith - Christina Hendricks Pandora - ????? Zoraida - ?????? Dreamer - ?????????? Collodi - Andy Serkis Viks - Amanda Seifried Som'er - Andy Serkis (CGI) Levi - Christopher Lee Hamelin - ????? Von Schill - ????? There should be absolutely no sign of Johnny Depp or Tim Burton anywhere near it.
  6. You'd like to see Collettes (plural) in avatar form..... Get the book man, it's brilliant. Best Malifaux book so far (for fluff etc, although the Avatars are obviously pretty good too!) edit: I love how the spell check doesn't recognise the word 'Malifaux'.
  7. Rasputina and the rotten belle holding her parasol over her shoulder, still two of my favourite figs. Honestly though, I could probably count on one hand with some fingers cut off as many Malifaux models I don't like!
  8. I was pretty scared by the prospect of aCollete, although I hadn't really paid much attention to her so had no idea what was coming. I HATE regular Collette though so figured her avatar would probably be a dick as well. She seems like good fun but a lot of her stuff seems very situational. Bedazzle could be horrible in the right circumstances though! Night Terrors are ace, although not sure where you're getting the 'great melee ability' from! for 3ss though they're amazing objective grabbers, plus anything that can get aSeamus's terrifying up to an effective 23 (or Terrifying:19 for BotBB) is aces in my book The Skikome should really have done more I feel, but you can't argue with Coryphee and the red joker I suppose!
  9. Ok, ok sorry! I was under the impression that she was maneuvered by December, an unwitting pawn, but then she manages to beat him. I didn't expect her to succumb to, well, him really. I'll be quiet now.
  10. She wasn't mental in book 1, she was just a nice wee lassie running away and looking for something. Then she turns up a bit in book 2 (I think) and then suddenly she goes all radge! If ever there were to be a Malifaux novel, I'd want it to be 'tina (or Seamus).
  11. So when did 'Tina go mental and start eating people? Don't get me wrong, I like how she's turning into this super-hard mega bitch instead of succumbing to Big D entirely, I just get the feeling I missed something. It also makes me really wish the alternate 'tina sculpt was more like in the 'Cold Heart' story, (instead of this new flying 'tina, which in my mind makes no sense) all half naked and caked in blood. Yummy!
  12. They're not a game winning piece, so I doubt you'd see them much at Tournaments (although all-December crews aren't really that competative anyway). They are, however, great fun and as you probably know, look awesome. If your opponent is used to the usual 'Tina "shuffle towards the goal" crew he can really mix things up. Pick them up after you've got a good grounding for a December crew, but they're by no means essential (or cheap in SS or £/$) but I loves 'em
  13. Ahahaha! This is brilliant! Genius work here, makes me want to nick the idea. edit: I particularly like the executioner.
  14. In my experience the pigapult is invaluable. Not only can it blow the crap out of things by firing Pere (Sholto once took out almost my entire crew doing this) and explody piggies but it's also great for certain strategies, firing gremlins all over the place to grab objectives. Just don't use it when Bete Noir is floating about, she loves this thing as much as gremlins do
  15. I thought that at first too but it's actually remarkably strong. Just be careful with how you transport him.
  16. Man I can't wait to get my hands on her. Two months to go.......
  17. Soooooo happy to see she's metal, but I need to ask, are her wrists strong enough to hold up those beasties or is she pretty fragile? I love some of the Avatars but really worry about transport (especially Lady J and ESPECIALLY Pandora, getting a Terminus headache all over again!) edit: Also, that base is bad ass.
  18. I've had the same dilemma before and just ended up basing everything the same. Truth is though, you don't notice when it's on the table. For display purposes, just have the right bases sitting next to each other. For jungle bases I'd recommend the following: - Rocks (cat litter will do but I generally use slate) - Details (skulls, twigs, whatever you want) - Army Painter Jungle Grass Tufts (these are great) - Etched Brass Jungle Leaves - fiddly but you get good results - Static Grass mixed with dried herbs/chilli flakes (it looks like leaves) - Sand Then: 1) Use GS or milliput to raise the base a little as well as adding some slight contours to make the land look more 'rugged'. 2) Stick some rocks/skulls/what-have-you on there, digging into the putty. 3) Cut out some jungle leaves and apply them over the rocks or any other areas they'll be seen. 4) Add some sand around the rocks 5) Paint Base 6) Add liberal static grass/herb mix, making sure not to cover up anything important. 7) Stick some grass tufts on, sometimes it can look cool if they're slightly obscuring details (having a skull poking out from behind the grass looks great!) 8) Profit! It sounds like a lot of work but if you do a production line you can do a lot of bases pretty quickly, just make sure to dry fit the models first to make sure there's a believable surface for them to stand on! I did a whole Circle Orboros army like this and it looked great (if'n I do say so myself!) Obviously you can mix it up, try experimenting. eg: I based Kromac by piling up some rocks leaving a shallow hole underneath which I then filled with skulls, had some vines coming out too. It looked pretty sweet! Sadly I can't show pics as I've since sold a lot of my PP stuff.
  19. They're fast objective-grabbers that can make mist. They might also inflict blight counters on enemies in melee. From what I hear they're really quite useful, if not great fighters. edit: The real question is, when is it bloody out!
  20. She looks great, my only problem is her eye looks really sunken. If you've got a small enough brush you could pick out her eyelids which would lighten the whole face up. I bought an 'insane detail' Army Painter brush for situations such as this, it's awesome.
  21. Mostly I play: Malifaux (Levi, 'tina, Seamus, Lady J) Warmahordes (Cryx) Bushido (cracking new game)(Cult of Yurei and Savage Wave) Occasionally I play: Dark Age (Followers of the Heretic, Brood) Infinity (Shasvastii sectorial) Noble Armada (House Decados) Waiting patiently for: Hell Dorado english book to arrive (Demons been sitting on shelf for ages!) Spinespur stuff to arrive (slaughterhouse) Would like to play but no one else 'round here does: Eden Relics
  22. Well I stand corrected. That green is great. The painted one looks like they painted her when the sculpt was half finished! I think Pandora has finally won me over.
  23. Hate it, put me off getting a Pandora crew. There's just SO MUCH they could have done with this instead of this characterless wad of excrement. I don't think a different paint job will really help matters either. I envisioned something a lot more sexy and sinister, kinda like Harley Quinn in Arkham Asylum.
