  1. meh! Great stuff Rob. Was a treat as usual listening to you beat yourself about the head because of the casting issues with this beasty. Turned out lovely in the end. The base is a winner on its own and the dino's skin looks so convincing. Good stuff, now stop typing and get painting!! Nigel
  2. Haha I would have to be very very drunk so I mess my entry up so badly that you stand a chance. Just resign yourself to second best. (fingers crossed)
  3. My little fella Archie occasionally has an imaginary friend. I think it shows a great active imagination. I really wouldn't worry about it all. He also uses it as a way to get extra chocolate etc.... as his friend needs it. I was obviously born yesterday and fall for it everytime.
  4. @Matty HAHA now you are getting into the spirit of it. You gotta believe. I really do wish ya well mate, this looks outstanding now. Nigel
  5. Hi Matty I also do not want to sound like a parrot but I think it will definitely benefit from upping the highlights, and deepening the shadows. I know automaton had a good method of increasing the (it may be available on Oz Painter but I read it here) http://www.frothersunite.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=13701&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=20 highlights on red without dragging it into the pink. This may be a method you want to try. I think the blood could do with being extended and the face still needs something as I mentioned previously. I am glad to see so many people are giving you the same advice, it saves confusion. Nigel
  6. HaHa You wish. I think you may do well yourself Matty. Just keep plugging away. Your entries at GD really were good, you just need to add that Extra something. It really is the thing that makes a difference. Its just impossible to teach really.. more of a light bulb getting switched on one day and all becomes clear...... oh dear now I sound like a shorter fatter Yoda. Hehehe Glad you like Libby. Not sure if its so much better than the green demon, just different. I have lost motivation for it really. Putting a drill bit right through her head and into my thumb and dropping it pain nearly made me give up a week ago. All I see is errors and flaws, but I think we all do that. Gonna be a good day. Good luck mate. And if i can't win I hope you do. Nigel

  7. No I have painted Libby on the Sabretooth. Turned out well. :) The angel will be for Euro I hope. Here ia a quick crap photo.http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f267/talonicus1/libby.jpg It is a lot better in the flesh so to speak........ I hope. Nigel

  8. Ha bloody Ha. Just look for the crowd. They will pobably be around me. Basking in my brilliance. See my EGO is still there. :P Talking of ego, I see Tim C is attending, and the guy who spent £1000000 on custom etched brass for his baneblade that should of won spanish gamesday. Its gonna be a good comp. Notice I am still bitchy as well. Got wed, thurs and friday off work to finish my entry. Get to my hotel and get pissed. can't wait.

  9. Haha. You manage to sound like a nutter in 3 sentences. Well done mate. :)

  10. Hi Matty. How are your salute entries coming along? Mine nearly done now...... thank god. I don't think I have had so many disasters with a mini before. Rob (demonherald) can't make it to Salute now. :( Did you say LouW is attending? It will be great to meet up again and look at some minis. ( damn that sounds so geeky sad ) Look forward to seeing you Saturday mate. Nigel

  11. You can just you standard edison screw lamp holders for these type . But you must make sure to get 220/240v 50hz lamps for the UK. It may be easier to get these. http://www.bltdirect.com/products.php?cat=443&nm=Energy+Saving+Daylight+Lamps Lumens is the amount of light that is given off. Nigel
  12. I love this model. I cannot wait to get mine. I think the base is great and the pillar is well done....... but I just cannot understand how the angel attaches to the pillar. It looks wrong to me. Pictures aren't very revealing either.
  13. Its a grand job Matty. Definitely one of your best so far. Robes look excellent. Skins good but does seem a bit flat in places. The only bit I really don't like is the tree thing. To me it still looks like a bit of a plant from the garden. Sorry.
  14. Once again I find myself agreeing with Dave. I think if this was a part from another miniature manufacturer's range you would get disqualified. But I think it coming from lego you would be ok. Personally I am not to keen on it myself, it looks a bit 'soft'. I think Daves weapons look much better. If you have any larger photos of your mini I would glady look at them for you, and spot any areas you may be able to improve. You have my email addy, and anything to help my ebay buddy.
  15. Have to agree with the long haired geezer above. I dont like the hammer. Get something nastier and more befitting? a bad ass dragon ogre. The rest looks good mate, look forward to seeing it in rl on the 23rd!!
  16. Fantastic sculpt. Paintjob is nice, looks a bit rushed but the ambience is spot on. Must get one of these.
  17. Hi mate. Good to see you here.
  18. I don't like the ogryns at all. DK stuff is very nice, wish my bank balance (wife) would let me buy lots of em. Marines are meh! seen it all a thousands times now, nothing really new. I want some really dynamic marines, not these woodentops.
  19. This is quite a nice mini. I might even buy one!! The paintjob is top notch too.
