  1. well while I think nephilim, woes etc. are definitely nightmare creatures I think the neverborn masters are indeed just remnants of the original malifaux natives... pretty much like the guild is doing they turned to what they are fighting to fight it.. to a point of complete corruption. (so nephilim for example are the neverborn's variant of mechanical constructs/witchling stalkers etc.)
  2. a bit OT, but in regards to what gunpowder saint said, I actually like the element of malifaux where all the characters actually do interact in daily life malifaux (mcmourning and nicodem having public jobs, the good doctor for the guild even... zoraida is a go to prophetess etc. etc.) it reminds me of the gangs of new york movie.. wich is kind of the feeling (in a way) I get from malifaux as well... they are not opposing armies from different places, but rather opposing gangs/parties all competing for control in the same place... regular non-combat contact (and the fact some have clear dayjobs ) as well as strange alliances all adds to that
  3. looking at the bases they are the smaller kind of miniatures arent they ? this heavily dissapointed me with the infinity miniatures :\
  4. yes that would be them
  5. no, their actual weapons slightly reminded me of keyblades (its only the minor thing that they have chains to their respective swords even.).. so from the start I associated these two (sonnia and judge) with each other
  6. black cat bases has a pack of hats, 2 cowboy, 2 of those that are similar to cowboy hats but smaller (you see it often in that pulp/noir era.) and 2 police hats. just got them in so have to see if they fit wyrd miniatures, they are quite small. my plan was to give judge and sonnia a cowboy hat and with some convertion make sonnia my lady justice (I have and love Lady J miniature (more than sonnia in fact), but doesnt fit in with my heavily wildwest-wants for the guild + sonnia and judge have matching keyblades ) I'll chime in with wether those hats worked eventually.
  7. not a rpg player, but Id assume that if one makes a rpg based on a background of a miniature game involving (obviously) factions.. the most interesting approach would be leaving the factions for the miniature game. ? not people having completely no association with the factions, just turning it less black and white. a Gold hunter/digger, recently joining the miners and steamfitters union could easily venture out together with a budding guild conscript.. in the end looking at malifaux background it would fit best if the players start out from the same starting point... they just arrived by train in malifaux, their future wide open and the existence of the warring factions just a small rumor they heard. instead of a typical class/job system they arrive in malifaux with a character built on talent, ambition and "morality" and during the sessions moving towards their destiny (wich usually involves mcmournings operating table anyway )
  8. especially pipes give a swamp that extra comfy feeling curious to see how this turns out.
  9. how on earth couldnt I have seen erics post.. its not as if I spent an hour typing O_o (I hope )
  10. copyright prohibits personal use just as well as any other use afaik, point being that its not really worth the chase. (either because the copyright holders are not bothered with it or because its not worth the financial effort.) but, that wouldnt really be the problem here, as sometimes to prevent any problems other companies (like kinko's) avoid getting involved. because they do get profit for handling the copyrighted material (you pay them.) and I think with the wrong company they can get into legal problems themselves. so as a standard rule they avoid everything copyrighted (or even suspect from being copyrighted.) its all more about their policy rather than wyrd's policy. the way for gamers with bad eyesight would be scanning it and printing it yourself at home. (or going to an independent print shop who have less rigid rules.)
  11. always seamus beyond that, Mcmourning, Hamelin, the nurses, sebastian, flesh golem, hans the hunter and the Molemen.
  12. not likely to happen as not only it isnt wyrd's intention to make "not-something" miniatures (as is the case with most game-range manufacturers.) but its also a completely different genre. that said, your request has been done (afaik thats what its supposed to be.) http://heresyminiatures.com/hsf007.htm and here http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Sci-Fi/latest you find usefull ones as well since as I remember serenety characters are pretty much standard space frontier-types (just to be helpfull to you and offtopic )
  13. killjoy painted as a spawn-penguin.. hmm, time to dust him off ontopic, I responded on each of these topics I think, so might repeat what I said before. (tough now Ive fully read the book ) globally if there would be hypothetically 3 more masters per faction, Id like to see one that ties different current themes of a faction together and/or make current unaligned themes his/her forte (examples would be a city guard master for guild or an arcanist that likes monsters and machines as long as its individual and not humanoid) , second a master that goes wild and brings in non-faction themes, tough maybe only slightly (good current examples are zoraida and Leveticus. tough it could be as simple as a resurrectionist master that can recruit dead marshals.) and only after those (or when does allready exist like the above mentioned two.) introducing new theme masters. (and only have a small focus on building the theme, like max 3 specific new minion types for such new theme.) in other words, I prefer expanding on whats there instead of only building new directions. just opinions tough, I'll go with the flow I copy the Judge sentiment for the guild, or maybe a sherrif type, a master that focuses on the earthly immigrants... technically.. an anti-outcast master, maybe combine him with the current steampunk elements of the guild and add to that with lynching and manhunting posses. For arcanists, more steampunk contraptions beyond ramos first and foremost but also a stronger connection to the mining-theme side. (and less mad inventorish as ramos is.) a master that in atmosphere connects with the whole golddigger/banker/oil baron thing from the wild west. and gives it a wyrd steampunk twist.. he likes to work with miners, machines and he loves the creation of molemen (up to having his own moleman sidekick.) resurrectionists.. a more wild west/cowboy undead addition would be fun (as done often in comics.. the whole pale rider type.. long black coat, a black hat always putting shadow over the eyes.. long white hair, maybe one that can recruit dead marshalls and has a secret guild-history.. maybe a female master. however on the other hand this fits more as an outcast.. such character is usually the whole mysterious vengeance type and would be unlikely to mingle with the resurrectionist masters if anyone at all. somehow for resurrectionists, maybe keep the current master theme.. city service workers (undertakers, hatters, doctors/nurses, morgue workers, hookers, cooks, butchers, barbers, librarians.) and aristocrats having a secret second life.. a female noble hoping to get some eternal youth out of all that undead research who connects with the resurrectionists feminine elements (bete noire, belles, nurses.) or a librarian connecting to the ghostly elements as opposed to the zombie theme. (able to also summon some lower neverborn spirits like sorrows.) neverborn, neverborn do have 1 steampunk thing, Id be curious to see more clockwork elements among the neverborn. but am clueless on other direction potential, more importantly, maybe tie it all together more somehow (neverborn sometimes seems to me consisting of 3 individual themes that have little to do with each other.) I havent posted in a long while, had to make up for it with plenty of words
  14. hospital zombies still I wish they had a seperate set of zombie patients and especially their bodybag zombies (these latter make some nice generic zombies to go with a strongly themed mcmourning crew )
  15. I think the proportions give it a very bovine+monster feel as opposed to the usual muscular man with hooves and bull head look for minotaurs. I really like that...
  16. Hi Nick, and welcome bit late, the forums are really crowded nowadays Another dutchman here. - you are completely setup to play now, what you have ordered (or are about to order?) is indeed what you need (wich 2 boxes did you guys start with ? ) - you can pay with paypal yes, all wyrd stuff Ive gotten I got in about a week after it was sent, there could be slightly more time during the ordering process now that malifaux was launched tough, but I dont expect it to be big. - I have never played, so I cant comment on the gremlins 100%, from what I understand tough each faction is very different and Id say no single one would be the typical overall/starter faction (perhaps the guild.) Id say you're good to go with anything that comes out of a box (not because of the rules perse, but because there will be other people here who have experience playing with it as opposed to when you mix and match your own group ) - first tought is that would be very doubtfull for now, I dont know where you are located (arnhem here.) tough. the shop here in arnhem only has flames of war and GW, tough they can order privateer press stuff. the shop in rotterdam did had helldorado and reaper miniatures, so I wouldnt be too suprised if they actually might sell malifaux if there is enough demand. last but not least when I lived in nijmegen and regularily went to moenen and mariken they did sell confrontation and some obscurer ranges, but Im not sure if they still venture out in other branches than GW (and probably privateer press nowadays.) hope it helps... if you didnt found out your answers yet
  17. I really want to know who at croc games just cant get enough of the dark crystal not a bad thing mind you.. not at all soo.. gelfling.. when ?
  18. its so funny how a paintjob can change so much it went from circle of orobos in different colors to a whole different kind of army. good stuff !!
  19. nederlands ? or does frog translate to kikker in more languages ? :)

  20. the open cockpit version is more fun tough
  21. a san jose sharks game is the one and only (big) sports event I have seen in the flesh. I was even completely dressed in san jose sharks supporter-wear this experience is one of the main things wich made me want to life in the usa.. we were seated next to coyote fans (who were having dinner at the start of the game.. not unhealthy gallons of beer.) and they did not try to beat us up, threaten us or kill us.. instead all of the violence is on the field, just as it should be with sports. I really like watching icehockey, but its not something you can follow here. as far as that is concerned I definitely life in the wrong continent. at Highschool I was not very good (tough not extremely bad either.) at soccer, basketball, volleyball etc. .. I was fastest in the class, but a bit rough (as in I would accidentally tackle someone at soccer every single time.) shortly we had *experimental* american football lessons, and I was good at that (wich is hard to believe when you see my built tough I weigh the same now as I did when I was 12/13.. and most of my classmates dont/didnt then ) and really enjoyed that sport as well. so in summary no, not following it
  22. all in due time, but I suppose that's not an answer curious towards young nephilim, bette noir and canine remains myself, and hope these are up next, but thats a bit partial
  23. Id love more flesh constructs from wyrd, there are some potentials out there but usually are a different vibe.. especially since none have a body-tag somewhere the pathfinder scarecrow and indeed heresy's franky is what I'll use (dont have them at hand yet to see how well they fit.) http://pulp-city.com/heroes,27,1.html#gallery http://helldorado.fr/factions/les-demons/foulques-le-noir/index.php http://zenitminiatures2.com/coppermine/albums/userpics/10002/NM014-hiena-batalla.jpg maybe ? http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/Media/Shop/rea50037.jpg http://www.battlefield-berlin.de/shop/Media/Shop/cfc122.jpg technically tough, a flesh golem should be the easiest thing to convert after all its various bodyparts thrown together.
  24. "the naughty brothers Hansel y Gretel." O_o surely they mean siblings. Gretel looks a bit disturbing and different from the concept (but I think the effect is due to the PJ mostly.) wich had a misschievious cuteness I like. this is really good, they release this, as now there is an appropiate scaled Wendy and jack to go with ToW Peterpan, wyrds own Baby kade as toby and zenit's orphans as a Lost boys group. (neverland project)
  25. really liking those colors and the bag ! O_O nice introduction sierra.. one of these companies that delivered so much good memories (do they still exist ?)
