shakes1066
Can anyone help I'm a little confused. Burn out on Rusty Alyce says if a model would be buried that turn then sacrifice instead. Ashes and Dust says if this model would be killed or sacrificed, bury instead. So do we end up in a loop or does one counter the other and if so which one. Thanks Luke.
shakes1066
Ok re read, I'm an idiot. It is a summon not a bury.
Stadon
I'm not certain which version of the playtest document you are looking at, but the most recent (1/21) says "Desolate Core: When this model is killed or sacrificed summon an Ashen Core in base contact with this model and attach up to one Upgrade from this model to the Ashen Core. Then, summon a Dust Storm in contact with any table edge and at least 6" away from the enemy deployment zone." There is no mention of burying anywhere in the ability, so I am confused as to where you see a problem. Edit: You answered your own question before I could answer it for you! Curses! Drool_bucket
Plus, you don't want to burn out your own A&D because all you'd get is the negative (reduce to 1 wound) because A&D is immune to conditions, which includes Reactivate. Kadeton
Yep, no point using Burn Out on A&D in almost any situation. It's my one proper annoyance with Rusty - other than in very specific scenarios, Burn Out seems intended to work with the Desolation Engine exclusively. Mostly I just ignore that ability. Malharath
Do you burn out a summoned abom to give it more movement and form a DE. Teddy's are fun to Burn Out as they can re-heal. Something that is about dead, or only has a wound left. There are more, but there are some fine uses fine Burn Out.
