Trigger Happy and Shooting into melee

Trigger happy states the extra shot gained from hitting the trigger must be taken against the same target. In the case of shooting Into melee should you randomise for the trigger happy shots? Or should it be taken against the target against whom it was triggered?

I'd say you have to shoot at the target that you got the trigger off of. If the model is engaged you'll need to randomize again.

its still an action. you are Targeting and if the model is engaged with another within 2" you will randomize.

That was something that confused me on 1.5 and still confuses me in M2E. I would go with target combat as well, as you are selecting the target as being the combat and then randomize

Rapid Fire is just like regular shooting except you're declaring all 3 shots instead of just one........so you declare the target (just like any other shooting) before randomizing. (you don't "target the combat")

Think of it as an automatic weapon on a 3-round burst. You pull the trigger on the same target, but once the bullets are away you have no more control.

If you're buddy is fighting a big ugly monster and you accidentally wing him, it doesn't make you go....."Well, I already hit him once, let's see how many more he can take."
