Misaki's Risky Ventures Timing

MrDeathTrout

Question

Misaki's Risky Ventures gives her a :+fate to all Df flips and +:crows to Ml if she has no SS in her pool.

Now take this scenario:

1. Misaki is attacked.

2. During the Declare Soulstone Use step of the attack Misaki spends her last SS for a :+fate on her Df flip.

3. In the Flip Fate Card and Add Stat step of the attack Misaki has no SS. Does she get the free :+fate to her Df? This gives her her :+fate:+fate on the flip.

I think so, since when the flip occurs she has no SS, but I play Misaki so I may be biased.

That is an interesting question. I play Misaki as well. I usually do not count it until after spending that SS. So, I would only get the initial :+fate

That is just how I play it. However, please prove me wrong so that I can get that :+fate:+fate too.

Following the strictest interpretation of the rules (and due to a background as an MTG judge I am apt to take the strictest interpretation) you would be able to burn the stone, and then also gain the benefit of risky ventures, resulting in a :+fate:+fate to the Df flip. As the OP was thinking, because of the timing you can gain both benefits.
