Webmonkey
yeah,.. some dull-cote at the end will help. ---------- Post added at 07:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:40 PM ---------- Although I hadn't decided yet. I was contemplating a patent leather dress,.. but I think a cloth look might be better.
edonil
I think cloth myself would look better...
Mako
I don't think it would suit you in cloth or leather, Ed...
edonil
... >.> Agreed. Not my kind of outfit at all. All the wrong colors to start with...
Mako
We'll get you a blue one for GenCon. I think I agree though, satin or matte would be better than the gloss. Keep the shoes that shiny, but the dress will be nicer in a softer fabric than PVC!
bowchikawowers
Wow web, this looks awesome so far. Personally I'd prefer to see some contrasting ribbons over the black corset instead of the sheer effect, but that could just be me. Those stockings are super impressive. Webmonkey
ok,.. got both arms and hands attached and painted. Hit it with some dull-coat to kill the shine a bit. I'm trying to decide whether or not to attach it to the base and axe yet. Even so,.. the other question is what to do next,.. her wings, or her head,... hrmm, I'll have to think this over

Mako
That satin effect on the dress has worked out really well. Will be fun to see her with all her important bits attached lol.
Webmonkey
head it is!!! (ok,.. keep the bad jokes to yourselves,..) ---------- Post added at 09:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:35 PM ---------- which then brings up the next question,.. what color hair?? (also, I was thinking how easy this model would be to convert into a mannequin, coryphée or other type showgirl. hell, a little head modeling and a top hat, it could be a huge Colette,..) edonil
Frankly, I'd go with purple to tie it together. Do something with the eyes to contrast the colors out and make them stand out.
Webmonkey
If I go that route, then I'm thinking something more on the "purple-blue" side of things. Different enough to be noticeable, but not too stark of a contrast. And the eyes,.. not sure on those. grey? purple? green???,.. though, a bright blue might be nice. Webmonkey
I'm at the point of needing to start assembling the pieces. But before I can do that, I have to make sure that the axe is ready. Here's a picture of my first attempt ever at free-handing a gem, into the center of the axe. I'm debating whether to do this on both sides,.. or hollow that section out and put a real gem (or at least a cheap red bead or something) in it's place. Thoughts?? edonil
Nah, I think it's perfect myself.
Mako
Unless you go out and get a big ruby, I say go with the painted gem. It looks pretty sweet as it is!
Webmonkey
thanks!!! a little outside perspective always helps
Webmonkey
Alright,.. got the major pieces assembled. Still got to do the head and wings. Decided to do the gems by hand instead of gluing in an actual stone of some kind. Next up,.. the head,..
Mako
Need more head! *snigges* Looks great web
Mister Monkey
I dont know, you got this whole 'Sleepy Hollow' thing going on without the head you could work with that. Looking seriously good
Webmonkey
Here's a couple of pics of the head before I get started. Not sure If I should do a step by step for this one, or just go straight to a completed shot for you guys,...
