Shared Destroy the Evidence

Me: Protege*Mature Nephilim*/Thwart

Ophelia LaCroix - 5 Soulstones

- Young LaCroix x3

Rami LaCroix

Francois LaCroix

Bert Jebsen

Gracie

Wong

Opponent: Bodyguard/Breakthrough

Lilth - 5 Soulstones

Mature Nephilim

Young Nephilim x2

Malifaux Cherub

Freikorps Strongarm Suit

Turn 1 Highlights:

Gained Initiative

Things weren't looking good for me, my opponent used the Freikorps Strongarm Suit to leap onto the neutral marker in the middle of the board. At which point he couldn't take the 2 AP required to flip the marker so he was forced to end his activation and use his Charge Up! ability to gain Armor 3. I don't normally play this aggressive but I moved up a Young LaCroix and used 2 soulstones to cast Ophelia's Right Between the Eyes spell twice, I managed to get him to 50%.

My opponent then moved the Cherub up, used Magical Extension to cast Transposition and switched the places of the Strongarm Suite and Lilith. I moved Rami up but was only able to get knock 2 Wds off Lilith.

Lilith activated and cast Illusionary Forest to block Bert and Wong from doing any damage and flipped the damage marker to gain 1 VP.

I moved Bert Jebsen up and tried to slingshot Gracie so she could make a pig charge through link and reactivate. Being new at this I forgot reactivate doesn't allow for immediate activation and left Gracie open to the Mature Nephilim who charged her and knocked off 4 Wounds taking her down to 2.

Upon Gracie's reactivate I hit him and knocked off a few Wds but forgot about Black Blood and she was down to 1 Wd.

Turn 2 Highlights:

Gained Initiative

At this point she was out of range for Link with Bert, I had Gracie use her 0 AP Two healing flips to get back to 6. In retrospect I should have moved Bert up to gain the range for Link and move him back to get her out of there. The Mature Nephilim destroyed Gracie much to my dismay.

I moved another Young LaCroix up and fired on Lilith but forgot about Whoops and when he missed on his third action using reckless, I ended up drawing severe and killed the closest Young LaCroix.

The Cherub cast Transposition on Lilith and the Strongarm Suit and switched their spots again. Lilith moved the Illusionary Forest to block Francois and Ophelia from getting to her and one of the other markers a Young Nephilim was defending.

At this point I was down two guys, hadn't scored any VP yet and not feeling good about the game.

Turn 3 Highlights:

Gained Initiative

I activated Bert who knocked off a few more wounds on the Mature Nephilim.

I then companion activated Wong and attacked the Mature Nephilim who knocked off 3 Wds to get him 1 and turned him into a piglet with a lucky Tome. I used his second attack to finish off the Mature Nephilim gaining 2 VP from Protege

Each turn I had been moving Ophelia and Francois up on the right side of the table getting closer and closer to a marker. I was able to slingshot Francois and flip one of the two markers outside of my opponents deployment zone.

Lilith cast Earthquake and knocked Francois and Ophelia into Severe terrain.

Lilith then charged him and promptly destroyed him.

The Young Nephilim charged Ophelia but only took off two wounds.

Turn 4 Highlights:

Ophelia Killed the Young Nephilim with one attack and then using her two remaining attacks got Lilith down to 4 Wds.

Strongarm Suit got back into the fray and was able to make it over to one of the markers outside my deployment zone. He didn't have enough actions to flip the marker so he used Charge Up! and shot Bert, he missed and Bert had a Ram to cheat on defense with to enable the It's all in the Reflexes trigger, I was in a good spot because I had a ++ on the damage flip but drew a Black Joker.

Turn 5 Highlights:

Strongarm Suit went first but couldn't flip the marker because I had moved Rami up into base contact, he used Charge Up! and killed Rami. (I know Rami is useless in Melee but he was the only model I had close enough that hadn't already gone to stop the Strongarm Suit from flipping the marker)

I moved Bert and Wong in to finish off the Strongarm Suit.

Lilith went for Breakthrough and move all the way into my in my deployment zone with Fast and ignoring severe terrain. (Also indirectly keeping Bodyguard going by getting far away from most of my models except for Ophelia)

On my last move I moved a Young LaCroix in to neutralize Breakthrough.

Turn 6 Highlights:

Gained Initiative

I moved Ophelia out of the severe Terrain into range of Lilith and used Two Dirty shots, missing the first but scoring the second with Dumb Luck which knocked off 4 Wds and killed her.

Killing allowed me to gain two VP from Thwart because my opponent failed to get Bodyguard and Breakthrough.

Endgame

Me:

2 VP Protege

2 VP Thwart

Opponent:

1 VP Neutral Destroy the Evidence Marker.

Big thanks to the community for the help with my crew selection.

Nice write up.

Something to consider with Shared Destroy the Evidence is the Pigapult (perhaps instead of the normal full contingent of Young Lacroixs). It is possible with the list you have there (minus the Lacroixs and the addition of the Pigapult) to accomplish 3-5 VP for Shared Destroy the Evidence on turn 1 and your first activation.

Thanks!

Oh wow, yeah, I could see how that would work. Time get him painted :-)

Great summary. I really enjoyed reading it. A few things caught my eye:

he missed and Bert had a Ram to cheat on defense with to enable the It's all in the Reflexes trigger, I was in a good spot because I had a ++ on the damage flip but drew a Black Joker.

I feel your pain! A double plus on the damage and you got the black joker! I thought only DracoMax had that kind of bad luck!

You sacrificed a dude for the success of the mission. That's the way to play this game.

leap onto the neutral marker in the middle of the board. At which point he couldn't take the 2 AP required to flip the marker

My version 2 cards say it is only a 1 Interact action (even for the shared Destroy the Evidence) however, the Neutral cannot be destroyed until all of the markers on your opponents side of the table are destroyed.

Has that changed? Are the cards I downloaded out of date? (I haven't played in a while, so maybe they are.)
