Big Ned
Here's my finished Brass Arachnid forgive the glossiness, I haven't varnished the model yet I tried my hand at OSL for the first time on this model, trying to get the like from the internal fires reflected i the smoke.
ModollerMorgan
OOOOOO I like the arachnid, it has that oxidized look too.
zFiend
Stunning Brass Arachnid. Well done Sir, well done.
Viruk
Very nice, must have been a lot of hassle to mount it on a base.
Big Ned
Not terrible, only had to reposition 2 legs. (Of the 3 that contact the base. it was a bigger hassle to paint. All those legs make it reach certain spots with a paintbrush.
Wings
Ooo, the metals and their oxidised look are fantastic. Nice.
Big Ned
Not much painting progress this week. I'm working on Ramos (who I think looks like Jack Nicholson). Got a couple of nights work left in him. I have gotten there two Sarissa pieces put together this week. Just need some twine to make a noose. Argentbadger
Fantastic miniatures, and they look even better in real life.
Big Ned
Ramos finished. I thought I'd try something different and went for a welders coat, rather than the regular grey.
Viruk
I like the choice of colors. Grey coat might make Ramos look dull with all those machines around him.
zFiend
Ramos looks good as well! The Figure is actually better looking with your paints than the sculpt picture itself.
Mezzek
Hi! I have looked through the Sarissa HP, but i can´t find the Wind Wheel. Please, can you post the link to it THX. Mezzek
Big Ned
I picked it up at Vappa. Must be new and not on the site yet. if you send them a message they can probably sort you out with one. It was £12.50 IIRC
Mezzek
Thanx maybe i will try!
Big Ned
I've finished the Steamborg Executioner (a.k.a. Hank the Tank) now. I decided against the tentacles,
zFiend
Hank the Tank Looks really great, but then again your work always does. What's going to be next?
Big Ned
Thank you. Next up will be the proxy I've got for The Captain. Then I might do one of the four Riders. Might do Mech Rider first... This week coming I'll be working on some scenery for my upcoming tournament 'The Good, The Bad and The Fated' because I want to use the Captain at 'Rumble under Gaslight' next Sunday and I don't like to play with partially painted models. zFiend
That sounds great. Can't wait to see what you got for a proxy. Did you like the artwork of Captain?
Big Ned
I went for this guy:- Privateer Godwin from Hasslefree Miniatures I love the artwork for the Captain and will be picking up the official model when it comes out. zFiend
That is actually a really good looking model! Makes a good proxy for the captain.
Big Ned
I know, if he had a hammer he'd be perfect.
Big Ned
Been a miserable rainy afternoon here so I managed to get this done.
SinDrome
All of your work is fantastic! The tones you achieved on the Ice Golem and Ice Gamin are remarkable. Crisp, yet soft enough to be believable. Working in monochrome can be a real pain to make it look natural. Your experience shows. I struggled a bit when working on my tots, but I'm learning. My favorite though, is your paint job on Willie! I can tell you had a lot of fun doing it. His personality really comes through.
Big Ned
Wow! Thank you. You're right, I had a blast (pardon the pun) painting Willie. He's such a great model with bags of character.
