Hi all,

I will be holding the very first TWC malifaux tournament on the 12th of December.

It will run from 18:30 till 22:30

Faction will be set at the start.

Masters will be decided at the start of each round when you know your opponent.

It will consist of three predetermined 15 soul stone games, each an hour long.

Schemes will only be used in the last game.

Entry for the tournament is free although subs to the club will be payable (£3)

There will be a prize available BUT not necessarily to the winner.

After the results are calculated participants will be assigned + or - modifiers depending on their placement in the tournament.

Each participant flips over the relevant amount of cards – highest card wins (black and red joker rules are in)

In the event of a tie . . . . I will wing it!

I jest there will be a re-flip without modifiers

Hopefully see some of you guys down here.

  • 2 weeks later...

Slight adjustment to rules, please see below.

Inaugural Malifaux Mini Tournament

Thanet Wargaming Club

ACF Centre, Wilsons Road, Ramsgate, Kent, CT11 9LZ

Wednesday 12th December

First game kicks off at 19:00 (so please aim to arrive around 18:45)

What you will need:

• £3 standard club entry.

• Choose a faction and select a Master or a Henchman.

• 15SS worth of crew from your chosen faction. You will keep the same 15SS of crew during the entire Tournament.

• Fate deck & tape measure

• Any relevant stat cards for your Crew

Helpful to have;

• Any relevant effect/wound/blast markers for your crew

• Any relevant corpse/scrap/blood counters for your crew

Players Soulstone cache will be capped at 4 Soulstones regardless of masters allowance etc. You cannot increase your Soulstone cache in game to higher than 4.

There will be 5 minutes for deployment. After 40 minutes time will be called, you will then be given 10 minutes to finish the current turn.

There will be a total of 3 rounds

Schemes will not be used for the first two rounds, in the last round one scheme maybe used. Chosen as normal, this can be announced or unannounced as normal.

Shared strategies;

Round 1 – Claim jump

Round 2 – Treasure Hunt

Round 3 – Deliver a message

Deployment will also be flipped by TO. All three types of deployment will be used over the course of the tournament.

An extra 1 VP is available to fully painted crews.

VP’s will be calculated and assigned +or – flips which are relevant to obtaining the prize.

11+ = ++

7-10 = +

4-6 = 0

1-3 = -

0 = - -

Does the 4ss cache limit a henchmen's reserve or does it just mean they cannot start the game with more then a 4ss pool?

This makes a massive difference on whether I choose a henchmen or Master for if it limits their reserve down to 4 that might well hinder some of the henchmen who rely on minions a lot more and think will use a master instead as they tend to be a lot more self reliant.

oh and got the day off so mark me down as coming.
