Something else to consider, looking at the wording of Tannen and Hamelin the Plagued:

from Hamelin's stat card

The Void: Begining with the second turn, draw 0 cards in the Draw Phase. Each turn, nominate an opponent. Draw one Card from the fate deck or the top of the discard pile each time the nominated model plays a control card.

from Tannen's stat card

(1) Dampen Fate: Enemy models drawing one or more cards during the activation phase draw one fewer card.

Its a pretty hard counter to Hamelin, pretty nasty.

Haven't thought about that but actually that's an "in your face" way of dealing with Hamelin

While this could potentially shut down Hamelin's ability, the problem is that you can't keep Tannen alive long enough. To get the aura, you need to activate him and then a few rats will easily deal with him. Or Hamelin himself will club him to death in one swing. But I guess this is not the proper place to discuss in game tactics.

I think Dead Man's Hand is resolved on a card by card basis. So in my interpretation the opponent only draws 1 card after every even card is flipped not a total of 0-3 from the 3 drawn cards. Therefore he can't draw any under the effect of Tannen's aura. But an RM answer regarding this would be cool.

That's how I read it, too - one at a time. I could see it being ruled either way, though.

I have been dabbling in neverborn. (Stupid Gencon and its awesome releases)

I even sunk so low as to play the twins against my friend. (Tekdekay here on forums)

And as much as the twins were disgusting, it was actually Tannen that was my personal standout favorite.

I am not sure I have ever played a model that so played like his description.

He is "The cooler", through and through. He got lured into the midst of the combat by either Lelitu or a Beckoner and just... did his thing...

10T faction aside, I had always sort of thought the rezzers made out the best in book 4, but Tannen and the Beckoners are SO GOOD, that its not so clear cut to me.

I struggle against wanting to play more Jakob Lynch. I feel like I am cheating on Molly and her kin.

@Gruesome just a quick note, not an attempt to sideline this thread. Tannen is Immune to Influence, so would not be able to be lured. Its something I miss all the time as well, but picked up and remember after one of my regular opponents obeyed him too many times.

*grin*
