The Hungering Darkness, return from the dead!

E.T.A. Hoffman

Question

Hi! Probably a simple question.

When the Hungy Returns from the dead, and I drop two cards to give him his wounds. Can I drop the 1 of Mask (Red Joker) along with the Red Joker to give him full wounds? The way Lynch's card is worded seems to imply no, but given that he has two RJ's it really seems like the intention was to be able to do so.

Thanks!

Yep it works Jakob is playing them and it it's worth 14

With all due respect, the wording of the ability doesn't support this as far as I understand the terms.

Ace in the Hole: When this model flips, or Cheats Fate with the 1:masks Card, that Card is treated as a Red Joker, not the 1:masks.

Jakob needs to discard cards to get the Darkness, which is neither fliping nor cheating, right?

Then put the card face down, and flip them into the discard pile. Lol

Seriously I figured that why they gave him ace in the hole, so he could do that. And ratty ruled it, so it shall be done.

Oh absolutely, but I can see arguments coming up over this.

Actually I can't really, I don't see people discarding their red jokers for HD very often >_>

So, is it the case that "Ace in the Hole" means something more like?:

Jakob can use the 1:masks as if it were the Red Joker.

I get that people do not think you would burn them for bringing back HD, but this could have far larger implications in some other interaction that has not been mentioned.

Are there abilities that look at what is in your hand without having to use cards from it?

Are there other things, such as discarding a joker to give a Flesh Construct fast? (Not saying he can have one, but its an example of an ability where discarding a joker makes for a different sort of behavior.)
