@Archibald@
Hi there! I want to buy a gift for a friend and can't decide between Malifaux Rulebook v1.5 and Malifaux Rules Handbook (the compact, fluffless edition). Which one has the most recent and complete version of faq/errata/clarifications inside? Thanks a lot
0 Ratty
1.5 is the most up to date out of the two.
0 gonzo917
The fluff really makes the game so much better in my opinion. It makes you care about the motivations behind the characters too. I think it'll make them even more of a fan if they're just starting. 0 Iamwyrd
The fluff alone is what made me start playing. Then the mechanics of the game just made it even better. I would go 1.
0 Sliver Chocobo
I would say 1.5, but there's nothing wrong with the rules handbook
0 Mach_5
1.5 also contains stats for a ton of masters and minions in all factions, so its a great reference for a new player.
0 @Archibald@
Thanks a lot! :-) I'll go 1.5 then.
0 stochastic
Well my friend started with the mini-rulebook, and it worked perfectly.
0 Sybaris
They're both good, and the size of the rules manual makes it very practical during a game. That being said, the 1.5 manual is more fun to read as an introduction to Malifaux (the game and world) than the smaller book.
