  1. Perdita used to be the arch-nemesis of Nekima's flock for a while. IIRC Nekima's fortress was for a while not too far Latigo. She is also the reason that Tuco Ortega was turned into a nephilim, and the Ortegas are kind of the go-to anti-nephilm force for the Guild (hence why they were tolerated), so the grudge must be quite high between them. Speaking of enemies, Lilith and Lynch come to mind as stated above, strangely both within faction. Things has moved on quite a bit though with Nekima and Titania beating off Lilith (for now, stories have hinted that Nekima will die vs the darkness and that would allow Lilith to come back at a point...but anyway that's off topic).
  2. I honestly never saw that one coming Thanks a lot.
  3. For sure Nekima cannot go toe-to-toe against Toni, unless she's already close to death. That auto-trigger alone is going to cripple her, and Toni gains adrenaline (which is a form of armor) every time she's hit.
  4. Thanks for the ideas. Would it be good to use Lilitus to lure them off their bubble or she's too fragile to get into range of the gunsmiths? Otherwise black blood shamans can get pustule for more ping damage pulses.
  5. Wondered how you would approach a game between those two masters? Granted Strategy and Schemes might change things but overall what would you be thinking about?
  6. Well they kind of do make use of their blood with "Fly with me" trigger...tots splattering to the floor ...not a catapult per say but...dropping tot bombs is in their book. Problem with armor is probably their growth rate...by the time they finished hammering the thing, they'll be too large...IIRC barbaros would never mature. Otherwise they probably find people weak if they need it...not saying they are wise at all. As far as leading with Hayreddin.... He'd probably like to get a duo of Shaman to heal up and lilitus for sneaky support. Then lelus and a young for fighting?
  7. Nekima has always been about Shock and Awe...speed and applying damage where it needs to go to overwhelm the opponent before it can use its full strength. It's almost a full melee keyword, and the traditional "bad guys" of Malifaux. The idea is that you have the speed to apply damage where it needs to go, and even if your models die, they'll wound back their attacker with the black blood ability, so getting out of a melee fight with Nephilim unscathed is usually hard. Nekima and the Mature Nephilims can hit hard if left to do their thing. The Youngs are your go-to shock trooper. It's certainly not the toughest group, but if things go well, you'll regenerate just enough to carry on to the next prey, and inflict more damage. The grow mechanic is not entirely a strategy imho, it's something you carry in the back of your mind in case the right opportunity arises...yet it will scare your opponent (especially if you get a mature up). But that's a bit of a snowball effect, if you're able to grow bad stuff, it's because the game is going your way already. There are some models who will make this easier. The utility comes with a few models namely Hayreddin, the Black Blood Shaman and the Lilitu...and to some extent Nekima's pig (totem). You'll need to balance your crew between Smash, Scheme & Support to get a good momentum. But overall the keyword is not subtle, which means the opponent can easily know what to expect, they're in your face. We've found it a good one to teach the game because of that. Lastly, the versatile hybrids of the Neverborn are kind of part of this keyword...at least in theme, because they've been created by Nekima, so if you like Blood wretches, Angel Eyes, Maurice and Tuco...they can bring more variety to your tactics.
  8. PM sent *black blood pustule on whoever snatched alt sybelle first...lol*

  10. I am interested in the Emeline Bellerose mini. I'll send you a pm.
  11. Seems i ordered the general upgrades needlessly then. From what i can read here, books are going to take a while more? i didn't get any confirmation of a package being sent my way yet.
  12. I wondered what was the general thought about tots recently...have people found good uses for them?
  13. Hello, interesting new card format. Here's a special request: would it be possible to get a stat card showing Nekima's alternate model/art? Thanks for considering.
  14. Many are sold, only the resurrectionists bundle left.
  15. Hello, just thought i'd leave a thread here. I have created a few auctions for bundles of malifaux miniatures. One per faction (guild is gone). You can see them on ebay in the following links Arcanists Sold Outcasts Sold Resurrectionists Neverborn Sold Let me know if you have any questions. If you need them i can include the round bases. Thanks for your time
  16. Can we get more of these teasing snippets soon?
  17. Thanks alot for that. For further constructive feedback on these character cutouts, they work if we use them as "flat" tokens, but not as stand up player tokens (like we're supposed to if we follow the guidelines and the standard of the original game). The reason is that the file provides cutouts with the warrior on one side and its spirit form on the other side. The result is that we can't really know what form a character is in at one time (since both sides are visible at the same time). We would actually need 4 total character cutouts, 2 for each character representing the spirit and warrior "forms".
  18. I am certain you'll like Zoraida, at least i enjoyed her quite a bit.
  19. I don't think we have to worry about the flavor of Malifaux since it's Wyrd we're talking of. That said, complexity can become a barrier to entry though, and over time Malifaux has become (i dare say) overly complex and sprawled. That is probably one of the big thing they want to change with 3E, because the easier a game is to pick up, the better the odds of people trying it and then maybe getting new customers to buy miniatures. Depth is an entire other topic and we have many examples of simple yet very deep games all across the gaming world. Easy to learn, hard to master is a great line to work with when developing rule sets.
  20. As stated above, just use Collodi while 2E is around, and then you'll see what's what. Safe to say, you'll still be able to play Collodi after 3E in 99% fo the time. Theme wise, puppets might go back to the original puppet master: Zoraida. She's the one who made the effigies after all.
  21. If their rules are published and well balanced, i doubt many tournaments will kick the "dead ones" out. Some of these masters might come back differently, for example Lilith was always competing with Nekima on the same thematic crew so now they'll be able to give her something unique, if they choose to. As for the new stat cards, larger cards could allow for a larger text size, and that can make things easier to learn and refer to. Not saying to make them 200mm by 200mm, but larger than a standard game card could improve information "digestion" prior to and during a game. The amount of fine print to read to avoid being surprised by some forgotten synergy is impressive...and can be overwhelming too.
  22. Personally as long as it's story driven and thematic, i don't mind the 3E, in fact i was starting to think that the new masters had some insanely convoluted rules. Now i know that Malifaux attracts people who like complexity and depth, but there is sometimes a brilliant balance with simple yet deep rulesets. Not everyone wants to be tested on their memory every game, and loose because of some forgotten loophole. And there is competition as well to keep in mind, the skirmish market is in the sights of GW quite clearly since it saw how much $ it can make with its games (Shadespire and Kill team) So bottom line is i guess i am happy about 3E, because frankly, if i was able to memorize most of the models rules, i couldn't ask that of my mates...and that put them at a direct disadvantage in this game.
