Scalpel Slingin

Hi,

i played a game yesterday and i was wondering for the first time. If you kill your target with scalpel slinging do you still get the push. I would say yes but i was not sure yesterday at 1am

What made me doubt is that Scalpel slingin says: Make a rg6 surgical Implements strike. If Target is wounded by this attack, push this model into base contact with the target.

So i'm not a 100% that you still push if the target dies cause he has no base.

I personaly would rule that the target takes the wounds before he dies, and therefore McMourning pushes into base contact as soon as the Wds are taken but before the target dies - which maens you have to watch out for Slow to Die.

I agree with Finnegan. Even if it kills the target, wounds were still applied. So the good Doctor wants to get up close to get the best seat... He's a little.... unstable...

Hmm. If it said "After damaging defender..." then I would say no. "If target is wounded..." is far more ambiguous.

IANARM. Having said that, the reason the model dies is because it was wounded enough to be dropped to 0 Wd. I believe the last event in the order of events is that the dying model is removed from the board (unless a trigger or ability says otherwise). So yes, I believe the Scalpel Slingin would be triggered before the model is removed.

(Now to see if somebody else comes along and demonstrates whether or not I'm correct!)
