Sybaris
After a discussion in the outcasts forum (Rami taking out Lilith in one shot), i came to wonder the intent of the rule: Dumb Luck doubles the damage inflicted. Let's assume a Red Joker is flipped (or cheated) on the dmg flip, how do you calculate the damage? 1. flip the extra dmg, double the total vs 2. double the initial dmg then add the extra flip. In the discussion, the dmg inflicted was 4 initial dmg flip 3 extra dmg flip Is the total dmg inflicted: (4+3)x2 = 14 or (4x2)+3 = 11 My interpretation was the 2nd option, but the example given in the discussion used the 1st, so i'd like to know for sure. 0 Dumb Luck
I've always applied the first way, since you add the Severe from the Red Joker to whatever you flip for a combined damage total. Which would then be doubled.
0 TheOneWhoFell
Honestly, from reading Dumb Luck, I think it would be the first (4+3)x2. It says "double the damage inflicted". So, with a Red Joker you're doing two values worth of damage, Severe and one additional card's worth. So you'd add them together then double the damage. Just my take.. 0 snord
The RM is very clear when it says the Red Joker damage + the extra card flip are added together making it one grand total that is considered a single damage source, so the total would be doubled to 14 dmg. 0 Mr. Bigglesworth
Yeah extra flip is combined with original red joker. They are not separated at all. Armor for example only impacts the total flip not both. AP if the wording for dumb luck is double damage then it would be option one like previous posters pointed out. 0 Sybaris
Thanks alot, seems quite clearer now.
0 Oshova
Or you could look at it this way. You double both sets of damage. (4x2) + (3x2) = 14 But the total damage is definitely 14.

This. You would add the two amounts then double the total.
Question
Sybaris
After a discussion in the outcasts forum (Rami taking out Lilith in one shot), i came to wonder the intent of the rule:
Dumb Luck doubles the damage inflicted.
Let's assume a Red Joker is flipped (or cheated) on the dmg flip, how do you calculate the damage?
1. flip the extra dmg, double the total
vs
2. double the initial dmg then add the extra flip.
In the discussion, the dmg inflicted was
4 initial dmg flip
3 extra dmg flip
Is the total dmg inflicted:
(4+3)x2 = 14
or
(4x2)+3 = 11
My interpretation was the 2nd option, but the example given in the discussion used the 1st, so i'd like to know for sure. Thanks![:)](//content.invisioncic.com/r262965/emoticons/default_smile.png)
