I think it turned out pretty well, but I'd like to see what everyone else thinks. I hope the images aren't too large. If so, I apologize in advance. morella Posted November 23, 2011 Report Share Posted November 23, 2011 Don't feel bad - there are lots of people who lurk (like me, usually). For a first attempt they are quite alright. After you get the basic painting mechanics down you'll want to pay attention to highlights and basing, which really makes a huge difference. But these are way better than my first painted models from years ago! Painting technique takes a lot of time and practice - don't get discouraged so soon. I have devlan mud wash that came in my paints. I tried it once on sample minis, but I don't wanna screw anything up on these ones. Is there an ideal place to put that stuff on? dsmiles Posted November 24, 2011 Report Share Posted November 24, 2011 Depends on what you're trying to shade with it. Devlan Mud is good for "dirtying" up a mini. I don't use it on flesh tones, but I use it on leather, old bones, some wood tones, browns, grays, and greens. There's a whole slew of other washes, too, but Devlan Mud, Badab Black, and Gryphonne Sepia are the staples. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have grown a little more picky but i would pit money you could cover those in a light coat and you would be happy. If your realy woried avoid the skin first. There's plenty of videos and tutorials available online (have a look in the miniature matters section), a couple of small things can make a big difference. I've found the Malifaux minis really easy to paint compared to other companies stuff, a basecoat, wash and drybrush is generally enough to get a nice looking model.
